Kirbyville's OC Coach Neece is named interim AD
WOSgrad replied to rykerx144's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
ryker, any word on the time frame for naming a permanent HC/AD? -
Yeah, they did. That one slipped past me. Lookin for that score, too.

Our prayers for J'Von, his family and friends and the entire Center community.
How come the Kelly people insist on having their own threads? Why can't they just put scores in with everyone else? It would really help clean up the site.
They haven't insisted on anything. I put a separate thread up for each scheduled match last night.
Didn't I read somewhere that Coach Stewart stepped down due to problems with MS? I did not know he had the disease. I wish him the very best. He has done a great job at Dayton and will continue to do so as AD.
No, the coach that had MS was Sam Harrell, the coach at Ennis that Jack Alvarez is replacing.

I am sure those guys don't use weights. Yeah right!!! Baseball guys do largely the same weight exercises as football guys. For everyone person you find that agrees you will always find a malcontent.
I dont believe I said that those guys dont use weights. I also believe you understood my point, but do not wish to acknowledge it. Furthermore, to suggest that three Hall of Famers could not compete in todays game is totally without merit. I still would like for you to have me understand why the athletes from other sports are better served using the football weight regimen than one provided for and supervised by their own coach. Because of limited time available at the high school level, I would also suggest that in some instances, the need for skill improvement takes priority to the need for more strength. Not saying there should not be lifting, but suggesting , once again, the coach of each respective sport is MUCH better suited to know what serves his players/teams interest best.
Your responses seem to assume that the coaches of the respective sports have no say in the type of weight training...and assumption that if I read DTH and play defense's posts correctly are not the case.

**BREAKING NEWS..COACH ALVAREZ NAMED NEW ENNIS HC**

But it is still baggage there, and it probably would not have worked well for either party. Alvarez is better off this way I do believe. So is Jasper. Just my opinion.
This is so true We have a Good Young Coach and Ennis is getting what they needed.
Oh really??? Alvarez is better off?
surely more money at Ennis. Jasper is more like a poor cousin. anyway, why are KV fans so interested in shipping Alvarez to Jasper? it sure seems that way. ;)
I don't know if it was shipping him as much as resignation that he was not going to be in Kirbyville much longer.
Your right ... unfortunately Kirbyville was just a stepping stone ... would love to have the continuity of a Hooks, but oh well ... Let the search begin ... Don't let the naysayers fool ya ... there's talent out in these woods ... Just gotta work hard .... that's what we do ...
I wouldn't necessarily call 11 years a "stepping stone" job. I found it telling in the interview that he was contacted by the Ennis ISD to apply. Folks in Kirbyville probably knew of this contact (which he may have gotten from other schools as well) and saw the writing on the wall. -

Center Wins With Heavy Heart, Prayers Needed
WOSgrad replied to slimpickns's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
J'Von, his family, friends, teammates and coaches, as well as the Center community, are in our prayers. -
At the risk of incurring the wrath of of the various hate/fan clubs that seem to exist in H-F, as a WO-S graduate I find the tact that this thread has taken as a bit disrespectful toward the victorious Mustangs. It makes it sound like a 23 point victory (in which at times late in the game the lead was 30) can be attributed solely at the alleged missteps of Coach Richards. I would like to set out an alternative theory that I know may be dismissed as implausible...that not only was Coach Wilkins the better coach but that the Mustangs were the better team.

Careful, AAW! The H-J basketball team will try to exact revenge for that loss. LOL!
