If 4A numbers top out at 1500-1600, then that would send Central to 5A. I believe their number is over 1650 now.
There number this alignment is 1624 and yeah, they could be up in 5A. -

Put me down for 6 vats of Tin Roof (I loved that stuff!) Back to the possibility of schools moving, you'll probably see schools like Huffman, Splendora and Cleveland move up to 4A. Silsbee is in the zone of possibility. Anahuac and maybe even Buna and Kountze could be moving up to 3A if the plan sticks. -
If Oklahoma can handle 6A why can't Texas?
I don't think many folks have a problem with 6A in Texas. In fact, I have long thought it to be the better alternative than the "Division I" and "Division II" stuff that the UIL has been trying for the last 20 years. What most folks seem to have a problem with the proposed plan is the 4 teams going to the playoffs.

Penn State vs. Buna Cougars! I am not joking!
I spoke to some folks in Buna. They told me, they were sent the letter several months ago. Why did it take the Enterprise so long to flash it on the front page? Waiting for the new logo? :-\
I remember it being a topic here a few months back. That is why when it was time to put up the helmet images for the previews, I did a helmet without the emblem. -
Are you crazy...the local volleyball teams don't do well in the playoffs? They do very well. Go and look at the UIL website and look at the playoffs for local teams 1A-4A. A lot more winning than one and done going on there.
True, year in and year out, volleyball teams are advancing at the very least to the Regional Semis. Enough success to generate interest. -
Penn State vs. Buna Cougars! I am not joking!
WOSgrad replied to a topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Well, like the article said, Penn State has to go after everybody. Do they think that the folks in Buna, Texas are maliciously using their logo for financial gain? Of course not. But if the university did enforce its trademark rights against someone who was, I would guarantee you that person would have Buna and others who are using the likeness on a list as part of some sort of waiver defense to prove that they are not really enforcing their trademark. Rumor has it that Crosby was also contacted by Penn State. Could someone confirm that? -
Okay, I did the math. Under the current system, 534 playoff football games will be played. Under the the 6 class plan, that number would be 762 games. Assuming an average attendance of 4,000 per game at $5 per ticket (yes, I know it is conservative) that is $20,000. 15% of that is $3000. So under the current system and with the above assumptions, the UIL's take on football alone is $1,602,000. Under the 6 class-4 playoff team per class plan, that amount rises to $2,286,000. And that is just for football playoffs.
