Chester Football...*Eric Holton New HC*
WOSgrad replied to DC4LIFE's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Looks like Chester will be playing six man this year. They had a meeting at the school and everyone there voted to play in the six man division. It's not yet set in stone but it's getting there.
Given the numbers that I heard were going to be in the program, six man in probably the best course for Chester. I guess a few questions I have (and probably ones that were resistant to moving from 11 man have as well) are: 1. Given the late date of the change, will Chester be able to fill up a schedule? 2. If Chester does opt for 6 man, since they waited until this point to do so, will they have to compete as a UIL 6 man independent for the next two years? 3. What does this do to the rest of 14-1A (Div. II)? As it was, this was only a five man district to start with. -
Actually, I had seen Magnolia West's schedule. I'll probably get those up this weekend.

Getting back on the ferry headed for washington state. Be back on Friday.
The Attorney General and The Child Support division is waiting. Welcome home! ;D ;D What you missed while away: 1. After winning state in the 80's, WOS has finally realized they won't win state again 2. Kirbyville is kicking Jasper and WOS tail after being the step-child for so many years 3. WOS named their stadium after a Barbers Hill alumn 4. BMT Centra passed enough players to field a team for a full season (few cheerleader banged-up in the process) 5. BMT (school not named) coaches hosted a porn video viewing. 6. Vidor ran all over South East Texas. 7. Lumberton had a decent team, once. 8. Dayton swept 20-4A, even after players steal school laptops 9. Hardin gets turff before BH 10. Astros REALLY suck!
Welcome home, scooter! But unfortunately, bh89-2 didn't quite get to all of the news: 1. Despite the loud complaints about his coaching ability, Barbers Hill's long time coach lead the Eagles to the 4A playoffs 2. Despite the fact that the long time coach Barbers Hill coach lead the Eagles to the playoffs, they still complained in Barbers Hill 3. After the years of complaints, the long time Barbers Hill coach decided that he would rather coach a team that went 0-10 last year than coach again in Barbers Hill 4. Barbers Hill protested to the UIL about Kirbyville moving up to 3A, because in the event that BH moves down to 3A, they know they can't beat Kirbyville 5. Barbers Hill did hire a coach and athletic director who has won state championships 6. Barbers Hill promptly began complaining that this new coach was running off long time coaches in other sports 7. Dave Rogers, formerly of the PA News, and currently with the Baytown Sun, is either Jesus or Satan, depending on who you ask 8. Crosby looked at the wrong calender, thought it was the 70's and overrulled their coach on playing a certain team in Orange County 9. Port Arthur Memorial got turf before Nederland 10. The Astros REALLY, REALLY suck!!! -
Thanks to Dr. Langfitt for getting me the Burkeville schedule! And thanks to Jerry Forrest for getting me Chester and New Waverly's schedule! I am still lacking Beaumont Legacy's schedule. I even called over there and thought I had it. If someone can get Coach Hobbs to post it somewhere!
Kountze may come out a little higher than everyone is expecting. an average of 40 kids showing up to work out every day in the summer doesnt make for a losing team. with this many kids investing this much time, sweat, and effort they will not lay down and give up like previous years. be expecting a more athletic, stronger, faster team for 2010.
I am glad to hear that. Coach Stewart is a good guy and I think could get them a fighting chance in the district. And goodness knows that in this district, he is gonna need to do that.
-
Wonder who is gonna come out on top in this one. :D
-
Very legit!
-
Well, I never met Coach Tullos personally. But I do know that every time I requested information about his kids, he did so in manner to promote those kids that he coached. Coach Tullos, good luck at wherever this wacky world of coaching takes you!!!
-
I gotta repeat etbu's question. Are we sure that he is no longer the football head coach? I mean I got an e-mail from the man a few weeks ago when I asked him some info on Cleveland's season/
-
Thanks to Coach Thibodeaux for getting me the 2010 Sabine Pass schedule! I am still lacking: New Waverly Burkeville Chester Legacy Christian

Enough with the "Ginger on Mary Ann" threads! Let's just throw all of them in one pile and ask you to choose!

Is something wrong beneath BISD's new stadium?

Is something wrong beneath BISD's new stadium?
WOSgrad replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Ok, what is the contingiency for the BISD if this CAN'T be remedied by the start of the season. Are Durley and the Babe playable? -
So?? Most all other sports all play in Austin. Does that give an advantage to Austin area teams? If you don't want a Dallas area team playing in Dallas, beat em.
But that is the point! Under the current system, in football, anyway, if it was thought that the Austin team would get an advantage, opposing coach would have a couple of means to prevent the game from being played in Austin (coin flip or agree to neutral site). However, if the final game this year finds you facing a Euless Trinity, a Highland Park or a Celina, which you would have no chance of eliminating from the playoffs because of the brackets, in the state championship game, you are out of luck (and yes I had to edit that last part to comply with SETXsports.com board rules).
-
So in some districts if you finish in the top half of your district, you go to the playoffs. In others, more teams will go to the playoffs in a district than stays home. I agree with you ECBucFan.....I don't like this plan either.

Area football teams predicted to face rivals
Well that Sucks..Godd thing games are played on the field and not the Paper..Otherwise why Play Friendswood when the paper already tells us (Central) were gonna lose

Hopefully our coaching staff don't go braindead and change up the game plan that we've shown every other team on the schedule for Friendswood. That was the problem last year. No I formation, just straight shotgun the whole game when they know we are must productive running out of the I formation or single back... ::)
Don't worry, guys. Week 1 will provide the blue print for victory! -
i hate it but i'll be right down the road in Abilene so i'll be able to make the trip. 8)
Well, you fastened on one of the things that I really don't like. Is that it gives the teams that are in that Region a home field advantage. Could you imagine playing a Euless Trinity in Arlington? And it would be the same having it in Reliant Stadium if Katy were playing.

Just because I knew my bud, etbu would be wondering: 1. Tyler John Tyler (DI) 2. Marshall (DI) 3. Whitehouse (DII) 4. Jacksonville (DII) 5. Kilgore 6. Hallsville 7. Nacogdoches 8. Pine Tree
