I don't think the UIL did anybody in this district a favor.  Although Lovelady seems to be the biggest test for H-D, all of the other teams, West Sabine, West Hardin and Colmesneil have fielded some quality teams over the last few years. Also, remember this new wrinkle for the DI and DII teams in 2A and 1A, only tow teams out of each district qualify for the playoffs.

My darkhorse teams that are ones where expectations may not be that high overall, but you think might do well. So since it appears that LC-M is receiving some play, that rules them out for me. My darkhorse team...Lumberton.

[/quote] Usually, the clearing of the bench for substitution is limited to sports where there is a clock that is winding down and the coach knows (or at least believes) that we really can't lose if he removes his starters.  So that is why you don't see mass substitutions even during a blow out. Also, remember that the substitution rules for baseball are a lot more restrictive.  With the exception of the courtesy runner rule and other limited exceptions, once someone is taken out of a baseball game, they can't re-enter, which is unlike football and basketball where players can enter and leave the game freely.

I have a question for wideveer. What happens if a player who is named on the roster has to, for whatever reason, decide not to play in the game?  I only ask this because in viewing the roster for the East, I see that Sam Alvis is on that roster.  Sam is currently playing baseball for Jasper, who is still in the 3A Playoffs. [/quote] Gentlemen and ladies, I recognize many of you from the many websites I have been on.  So I don't understand this all of a sudden wonderment and shock over a policy not to allow links from other message boards.  Most, if not all message boards that I have frequented have it and I can assure you that many of those other sites react much more violently than we do here.  And that is what happened here, someone gave a link to another message board.   One of the reasons for that is because of exactly has happened here, a link to a message board with information that wasn't verifiable and two days after it was posted, we still do not know that it is the case.  In fact, the subject of the story has refused to confirm what can only be reported at this point as a rumor.  And folks, those who wish to get on my case please don't insult my intelligence and those on this board with what I now call the "?" defense.

I would be glad to have either one of these young men leading my offense and I am sure that neither Coach Faircloth nor Coach Credeur will be complaining about their quarterbacks, either.
