It might have been me, I have been on several fires tonight and I think I may have seen something in that looked to violate our edict up above. Sorry, if I overreacted. Just being careful.

When word first became public that a player from West Orange-Stark had been suspended from playing in the West Orange-Stark/Hamshire-Fannett game last week, setxsports.com stated that it's policy regarding the matter would be that details published here regarding the suspension would come only after mainstream media, i.e local newspapers, television and/or radio stations revealed such details. And to this point, setxsports has held to that. Yesterday, by publishing a link to an article published by the Beaumont Enterprise, the name of the suspended player was made public here. However, since setxsports has taken its stance, through unofficial channels it has become apparent that this matter will be in litigation and in fact, that process may have already begun. Thus, until time as such litigation has come to a conclusion or that courts have signaled that it is okay to publish such details, setxsports will not publish any details about the suspension including the name of the suspended player or the details of the alleged transgression. By publishing the link to the Enterprise article, setxsport does not believe that it committed any wrongdoing. However, with litigation pending, setxsports has decided to step back and not have any comments regarding this matter until such litigation clears up. We know that some may criticize this move as setxsports protecting a WO-S player. Nothing is further from the truth, it is just to trust the courts to sort this out and not be a potential hinderance to that process and to protect the interests of sexsports.com and those that operate this board. Some may argue that we are being too cautious in this approach, we acknowledge the disagreement up front, but again feel that this is the prudent approach at this point. We thank you for your patience in this matter. setxsports.com

No, we won't. I wish like all get out that we could reveal what we believe are the details as, based upon the version has been revealed to me, it is favorable to Trey. But as this appears to be headed to litigation, caution is paramount. No, you won't lock it. Just keep posting a MINOR's name and not the reason for the conflict of interest. The conflict of interest, as stated at the meeting, was because of a conflict of interest because school board member Mary Hardin is the high school principal's mother (Paul Hardin). We can drag the minor's name through four pages of posts, but can't post the reason stated at the meeting for a board member to abstain from voting that resulted in a tie. Please, help with the logic here? I have no problem with you posting why Mrs. Hardin gave as the reason. But then when you go about revealing other potential witnesses and how they play into this, that is too far. Sorry, if you feel otherwise.
-
And exactly how are we protecting him? We have revealed his name. No TV or Radio station has revealed his identity. And only one of the major newspapers has done so! We have not revealed any details as THIS IS HEADING TO LITIGATION and NO OUTLET has revealed that. Believe me, if you have been told the version that I have, you would know that we are doing no favors to Mr. Franks by not revealing the details.
-
Guys, let's take it easy on the board members. Remember, we are not privy to what they said in the executive session to have each board member vote (or not vote) in the way that they did. One of the reasons that we here have been loathe to reveal much detail is that we were never sure that we had all of the details...only rumor (no matter how widespread, it is still rumor) and folks who claimed that they know all of the details. I imagine that sometime tomorrow all of the facts will be revealed.

Okay, guys. Let's keep it civil!!! I hate to start giving warnings out!

Big Red still has a chance, but if I were you I'd become a Shepherd Pirate fan in a hurry. Shepherd beating Liberty and Huffman winning out seems to have the best shot the Falcons have.

Okay, folks! Week 9 brought some more clarity to the playoff picture in Southeast Texas, but there are some districts...okay...one district where the playoff picture is muddy after most the uniforms this evening. Now that we are getting a clear picture, we will get into not only those teams and which division they will be competing in, but what other teams must do to join them. AND AWAAAAAAY WE GO!!!! 21-5A

Who's in:Beaumont Westbrook, North Shore, Baytown Lee

Who can clinch: Port Arthur Memorial with a win

Channelview with a win and a Memorial loss

OVERVIEW West Brook and North Shore will be the Division I representatives out of 21-5A. The seeding will be decided by the results of the Bruin/Mustang game next week with the winner gaining the #1 seed out of the district. Baytown Lee has clinched one of the Division II spots. And then here is where the smatter of intrigue comes in. Memorial failed to lock up that final spot this weekend and will have their playoff fate decided next week. The good news for the Titans is that they control their own destiny....a win over Baytown Lee will get them to the playoffs and the #1 seed in Division II. However, a Memorial loss and Channelview win over Baytown Sterling will send the Falcons to the playoffs as the Division II #2 seed. There was also some clarity about potential bidistrict opponents from 22-5A. Pasadena Memorial has clinched a playoff spot and will be the Division II #1 seed out of 22-5A. Pearland clinched the Division I #1 seed with Deer Park being the #2 seed in Division I and LaPorte being the #2 seed in Division II. 19-4A

Who's in: Crosby, Dayton, Goose Creek Memorial and Barbers Hill

OVERVIEW The district season is done in 19-4A and the field is set. Crosby will be the Division I #1 seed and Goose Creek Memorial will be the Division I #2 seed. Dayton will be the Division II #1 seed and Barbers Hill will be the Division II, #2 seed. See the mud pit below for potential bidistrict opponents. 20-4A

Who's in:Port Neches-Groves, Beaumont Central

Who can clinch: Vidor with a win,

Nederland with a win OR a Vidor loss and an Ozen loss

Lumberton with a win and a Ozen loss

Livingston with a win and a Lumberton loss

Ozen with a win, a Livingston loss and a Nederland loss

OVERVIEW Week 9 did little to clear up the picture in 20-4A. Port Neches-Groves and Beaumont Central are still the only teams to have guaranteed spots in the playoffs. Central will be the a Division I representative out of 20-4A and will probably face Goose Creek Memorial in bidistrict play unless PN-G goes Division I as well and defeat Central on Friday. PN-G's division status is still up in the air. And here is where it gets sticky: There are 5 teams, Nederland and Vidor at 3-3 and Livingston, Lumberton and Beaumont Ozen all at 2-4, who are still in contention for the final two spots out of 20-4A. The result of 3 games: Vidor vs. Livingston, Nederland vs. Lumberton and Ozen vs. Little Cypress-Mauriceville will determine how the district shakes down. Vidor and Nederland control their own destiny. The Pirates and the Bulldogs win and they're in. The Bulldogs can get with even if they lose IF Vidor and Ozen lose as well. Lumberton can get into the playoffs with a win and an Ozen loss. Livingston will advance with a win and a Lumberton loss. Ozen can get in with a win, a Livingston loss and a Nederland loss. There is one scenario that would depend on point spreads of the games involving the tied teams, that is if Vidor and Nederland lose and Ozen wins, which would create a five way tie between Vidor, Nederland, Lumberton, Livingston and Ozen. The point differentials amongst these teams is currently, Vidor +15, Nederland +12, Lumberton -1, Livingston -9 and Ozen -17. 18-3A

Who's in:Carthage, Jasper and Center

OVERVIEW The playoff picture is decided in 18-3A. Jasper will be the Division I representative, Carthage will be the Division II #1 seed and Center will be the Division II #2 seed. In 17-3A, Gilmer and Tatum have clinched playoff spots. Unless Tyler Chapel Hill defeats Gladewater by more than 7 points, Gilmer will be the Division I representative and will play Jasper in bi-district and Tatum will be the Division II #1 seed and will play Center in bi-district. 21-3A

Who's in:Silsbee and West Orange-Stark

Who can clinch: Bridge City with a win

Hardin-Jefferson with a win and a Bridge City loss

OVERVIEW Silsbee clinched the Division I berth out of Section 21-3A and will play either Huffman or Cleveland in bi-district. West Orange-Stark clinched the Division II #1 seed and will face either Coldspring, or Shepherd in bi-district. The final spot and the Division II, #2 seed will come down to Bridge City, who will advance to the playoffs with a win over Hamshire-Fannett, or Hardin-Jefferson, who needs to defeat Silsbee and and have Bridge City lose to Hamshire-Fannett to get a playoff berth. That playoff team will play either Coldspring or Cleveland in bi-district. 22-3A

Who's in:Cleveland and Coldspring

Who can clinch: Huffman with a win and a Liberty loss

Shepherd with a Huffman loss

OVERVIEW Cleveland and Coldspring have clinched playoffs spots. Cleveland will gain the Division I spot out of the District with a Huffman loss or a Liberty win on Friday night. Coldspring will be in the Division II playoffs. Huffman will get the playoff spot with a win over Tarkington and a Liberty loss and will be the district's Division I representative. Shepherd, whose regular season has ended, will get a ticket to the playoffs with a Huffman loss. See the 21-3A overview for the potential matchups. 21-2A

Who's in:New Waverly, Corrigan-Camden and Buffalo

OVERVIEW New Waverly and Buffalo have clinched a Division II berth out of 21-2A with the seeding being determined from the result of the game between th Bulldogs and the Bison next week. Corrigan-Camden will be Division I representative and will face Kirbyville in the bi-district round. 22-2A

Who's in:Newton, Kirbyville and Woodville

OVERVIEW Newton will be the #1 seed out of the 22-2A in Division II and will face either New Waverly or Buffalo, Kirbyville will be the Division I rep out of this district and face Corrigan-Camden and Woodville will be the Division II, #2 seed and face New Waverly or Buffalo. 23-2A

Who's in:East Chambers, Anahuac, and Buna

OVERVIEW Anahuac will be the Division I representative out of 23-2A. East Chambers and Buna have earned the Division II berths...East Chambers will be the #1 seed for Division II and Buna will be #2. 23-1A

Who's in:Evadale, Colmesneil and Hull-Daisetta

OVERVIEW Colmesneil will be the Division I seed, Evadale will be the Division II #1 seed out of District 23-2A and Hull-Daisetta will be the Division II #2 seed. This district has a bye in the bi-district round. TAPPS I-3

Who's in:St. Pius X

Who can clinch: Houston St. Thomas with a win

Beaumont Kelly with a win of more than 9 points

OVERVIEW Believe it or not Kelly Bulldogs fans, Kelly still has a shot of making the TAPPS Division I playoffs. If they beat Houston St. Thomas by more than 9 points, they will be the #2 team out of District I-3. TAPPS IV-4

Who's in: Katy Faith West, Galveston O'Connell, Brazosport Christian and Woodlands Christian

OVERVIEW The results of last nights games set the playoff picture for District IV-4. The Katy Faith West Eagles are the district champs with Galveston O'Connell the #2 seed, Brazosport Christian the #3 seed and Woodlands Christian with the #4 seed.

As, AAW noted, those are the figures that are used for the 2008-09 and 2009-10 school years. The figures which were gathered this week will be used for the 2010-11 and the 2011-12 school years.
