  1. I don't think the margin will be as big as last year, but I think Cleveland will still come out on top.
  2. To my friends in Orangefield, I am sorry. EC.....BIG!
  3. Happy Independence Day, Coop!
  4. Actually, I don't expect to see much movement. When you have as many teams in a potential district as could be in 19-4A or 20-4A, that is when the UIL will adjust the numbers to ensure "equality" within the districts.
  5. Nederland has a scrimmage against Jasper on Friday, August 28 at 7:00 p.m.
  6. Nederland ISD's Website had this message: [Hidden Content]
  7. Does this kid have a dad by the same name and graduated from WO-S in the mid 80's? I saw another familiar name from the Mustangs of the '80s on the roster...Preston Armstrong?
  8. PN-G would bring 10,000 fans to a chess match! 20,000 if the chess match is against Nederland!
  9. That is NICE!!!! Hey, e. That thing looks bigger than 6,000!
  10. How did they "chicken out?" Remember that last year the Lobos were a last minute fill in on the schedule due to the merger of Smiley and Forest Brook. I think the Lobos had a hole in their schedule last year that was filled this year.
  11. Speaking of which, was the recommendation made tonight at the board meeting and when is the board supposed to act upon that recommendation?
  12. I was reading Dave Campbell's entry for Hull-Daisetta when I happened upon the name of the projected quarterback, Corey Huckabay, who started at cornerback in 2008. Is Corey the son of the purported new coach in OF, Brian Huckabay? What does this do to Coach Slack's offensive scheme? And has Orangefield found their new starting quarterback?
  13. Of course, that there will be 3 games at the new stadium on a weekend will be a rarity as that will only be on the occasion that West Brook, Ozen and Central are all at home the same weekend. You'll find that is rarer than you think.
  14. Nah! He'll do it on the wrestling forums giving the result of the latest pay per view!
  15. "This wasn't done for the convenience of coaches." Someone can't expect a high school football coach to see this and not expect some sort of reaction from the coach. That is about is inflammatory as you can get. It makes it seem like the majority of coaches don't care about the condition of the kids. As you stated, old doc, the opposite appears to be true. So if NATA doesn't want to have barbs fired at them like the one Coach Hooks let loose, maybe they should muzzle the idiot who made the above quote.
  16. Congrats, Trey! Now it is time to start on your campaign for a repeat! 8)
  17. Dang, tam! I should just let you write the WO-S preview. LOL. how much you paying? LOL I'll pay you what I am getting paid for it. LOL!
  18. Dang, tam! I should just let you write the WO-S preview.
  19. To all of the dads out there..........
  20. My prayers go out to Chris' family and friends.
  21. And this is what struck a nerve with Coach Hooks, undoubtedly. The report, whether intentionally or not, made it sound like coaches throughout the land were a bunch of no-neck sadists which would run their teams into the ground in two a days without any concern for the wellbeing of the kid. That is what Coach Hooks and Coaches Creduer, Mathews and Alvarez took offense to as they have all indicated the methods they use to make sure that one of their kids does not become ill during practice. jtown, what I think happened with Coach Hooks is that he had the same feelings stirred inside of him that you had stirred inside of you when you saw his quote.
