  1. Just let BISD make it, how do you expect them to follow the rules on the field? They can't even follow the rules for classroom testing. Have to cheat there too! :P
  2. If you go by the starters that are listed in the News Papers, then you are being deceived... Nederland plays pretty close to platoon ball. Someone mentioned that there are some key positions to fill, well... they've already been filled and tested, all season long... now we're about to reload with some new added talent.  Vidor, on the other hand, has some key positions to fill.
  3. I have to go with PN-G on this one... I think the difference in the game is each team's offensive scheme. The Indians are capable of moving the ball in the air and on the ground rather effectively. Vidor, depends on a predominant ground game and although they have had a little success in mixing in a pass here and there, they have not had to depend on it a lot.  If the Indians are able to hold Vidor defensively and get ahead by a couple of TD's, then the clock becomes Vidor's biggest enemy.
  4. I don't think Mitchell being back really makes a difference for Central... it was said that Central was a different offense, after coming off a narrow win with LCM... then they played Nederland and 42 points later... the biggest difference between Central and Lumberton is the amount of fire each team has... Lumberton still appears to be somewhat fired up and is playing with some unity. You let them stay in the game long enough and they can be a problem. Central on the other hand appears dead and disengaged. There's no intensity or unity.  I don't think it's lack of athleticism, but discipline... and that blame falls on the coaching staff. Depending on what Ozen does tonight, BISD might need to consider cleaning house at a few campuses. After listening to some responses from the West Brook fans, they might would like their house cleaned, as well.
  5. The Ozen and PN-G game might get interesting... could be an air raid from both ends. Each team just needs to take it one game at a time. It might be important to put as many points on the board as possible... this district could possibly become log jammed, as it has so many times in the past. Nederland and Central will be a good barometer... After Friday we might have a clear picture of how things will unfold, but some upsets could muddy the water a bit. In regards to 5A... PA Memorial is obviously the team to beat. They're trucking along. Very doubtful the West Brook can hang... anything's possible. Not likely that WB can handle North Shore either... I think a Beaumont team in 4A has a better chance at making it to post season play.
  6. You know, I hear a lot of "it would have been a different game if so and so would have been playing", etc. While that may be true, but Nederland has yet to have had it's full defense play... just as everyone else, we have had some of our key defensive players out... at an average of two or more at a time. That's part of the game. We are just now starting to get some of those folks back... a couple are still questionable. That being said, it just shows how deep Nederland's talent level is at defense. So, yes... it would have been a different game... especially if we would have had all of our troops active. That being said, for those guys who have been filling in... you've did a pretty dang good job, boys! Anybody else interested in going for it on 4th and inches? ;)
  7. That should make for a great match up for the Black and Gold of Nederland and the Gold and Black of Vidor... since a large majority of Nederland's Offense will be back and damn near all of it's Defense. Horrifying isn't it? ;D
  8. I think it would be appropriate to have Bubba "RECOGNIZED"
