Kelly played San Antonio Lee today... Their soccer wasnt as good as the other two teams we played. They knocked it around well and played okay but were not a class team. They beat us the 3-0 and that was the worst defeat we have suffered. They were by far not the best team we played. Bigger than the loss was the loss of a player. Matt Kirby had xrays and has a sprained foot and will be out for a couple of weeks. This just in time for four district games. Well there ya go........

Just to agree somewhat with JCB... the better team did win... this was the best team we have played in my opinion.. two minutes left Pk and they are winners.. however... Look at these stats and understand how much better this team played then us.. wow they were so fast.. we have one dynamo and odp player.. they had two dynamo players and one odp.. again... these guys were fast.. stats... Kelly................... Clements shots 9 28 yes 28 Scorer had trouble keeping up first half. corners 4 5 Nothing else mattered.. great second half... first half is forgettable... ha

Game stats... Kelly Westlake shots 7 11 corners 2 3 keeper saves 4 ? Kellys defense did great. Offense did great.... Midfield did pretty close to great...... Subs off the bench.. did Pretty close to great... Good game with the better team tonight winning....

Scott Poole playing at the level he has been playing in club should be a machine on the field. Not to forget what else Lumberton is bringing back. waldrep and bracking I guess are playing well also.

Kellys goals came from .. Kirby, Hanks, and Logan Sherlock with assist by Hunter Allen and hanks. Shots on goal .. Kelly 22 St Pius 6 Corners 3 for Kelly and 1 for St Pius. Defense was great having another shutout....

were they alumni or school plyers who went out..

PnG looked good against Kelly Friday. I know LcM is getting alot of players back with attack and defense.... this will be a hard well played game ... wish I could see this one......

Kelly played vidor thursday night and png friday. JCB described both games pretty much the way they were.

Word is they started out sluggish but the young guys got their confidence and the game ends. 1-1..... so probably a good showing... but dont know until the coach gives the word..

You all have been practicing for several weeks. Had a look at your depth and what you dont have and what you do have. Nobody is talking, but why not give us a run down of what you think your team is doing good bad or ugly. This board needs some talk and not bashing.. One week until games begin for you guys.. I know your tired of hearing about KELLY well lets start some talk about the public schools. Let the games begin... six days until they begin..................

It is for the public schools only and it says the rankings were put together by coaches in attendence of the meeting. After around Jan 10 when teams have a week under their belt the public schools will start to sort out. I didnt see anything that surprised me but that PnG was ranked high as they were. Hope they are that good. Go Lady NdNS

I agree with ya bullet. I can say I still will go watch beckham because he is a legend to us soccer ignorant folks.. His name goes with soccer now days like the name of Pele. You hear beckham you think soccer, or of course spice girls. ha. But Henry or any of the others would and will not draw like beckham does.

I like HJs ruling on FIRST TEAM.. team being the key word. You do have eighteen on a team roster usualy. So why not.. then have your second eighteen.... seems reasonable and well put

Brittany is a great person and does a super job with the ladies. She is very knowledgeable about the game. And a very good person and a really good personality. She is a good person for Kelly to have, and has become a good friend.

Kelly beat Teurling Catholic the number one ranked Class 2 team in Louisiana with all 10 first place votes. Great game by all the players but the defense and Ben Alvarado in goal did a great job. Goal by Taylor Zummo and assisted by Zack Clark. All the team did well. SECOND game Kelly 1-0 over St Martins. Not a ranked team and not as good as first. Goal by Zummo and assist by Logan Sherlock. All the team played good again and was a good result. THIRD GAME .. Kelly loses to Class 1 3rd state ranked Acadiana High School One to Zero. We had to tie or win to advance. ten left in the game they have a direct kick from about thirty five yards out and hit a high bend into the goal. We couldnt put together any good looks at goal and game ends. We tied in points but they advanced on head to head. The whole tournament the WHOLE team played great.. missing Matt Kirby, Nathan Stockie, Phillip Mccallum,Nse Udonta.. sorry bout forgetting... Brent Fiedler and Donnie Corona for the tournament. The group had a great result.

A good game with very few shots was won by Kelly. Goal by Taylor Zummo and assist by Zach Clarke. Both Sophmores. Defense was excellent tonight giving up just 9 shots with goalkeeper Ben Alvarado saving four shots. Matt Hornng, Hunter Allen, Austin Gibbs and Hill Verde were solid in the back. Ben Hanks did great at center mid. All the team played well and without Kirby, Stockie, Brent Fielder, Donnie Corona, and Phillip Mccallum . I know your tired of hearing the news but when you all start your season we will want to hear about your games as well...

The problem with local high school programs is that the local club programs have lost their level of play. Sure they have a great team that comes along now and then but over all the level of play has deteriorated. Back a long while ago the club programs were fluorishing and to be on a upper level team meant something. Now the upper level teams are given out like candy. Instead of having one team per age group you now have two or three in any age group from the same club. So there is no way any of these teams will be successful. It used to be the four clubs each had one team in each age group and made for good competition and so the kdis kept interested. Now look at all the very successful programs in the state and they are fed by local soccer clubs. And their local clubs are usally extremely strong and so the feeder to the high schools are a big help to the high school. Without success or teaching the kids to actually play the game rite... the kids get discouraged and go to another sport thus leaving the number of high caliber experienced players down in high schools. The local clubs need to teach the kids how to play soccer at early ages and the kids will stay committed to the game until they graduate thus helping the local programs. To make this point,,, last season all the teams were one and out in playoffs. Everybody will stumble year in and year out but not all the teams from the same district. Other areas are strong due to their clubs feeding them. At kelly out of 36 boys in the program, only 15 played club last year at ANY level. Nederlands numbers are growing fromclub while PNG is falling. I dont know about the rest of the area but I would bet Nederlands district domination could be returning soon and some of hte other schools will start to deteriorate. Its inevitable that sooner or later a program has a bad season. Locally in the public schools they are finally getting the coaches that have played the game. For years we all have waited on this and now the kids will be taught by players not by us wanna play... folks.

Nederlands team is loaded with young talent. Only a few seniors on the roster and a load of sophmores and freshman coming in that can play soccer at a skilled level. They have some really good players and will be very strong over the next few years. They have a coach that played the game and can get them to do the rite things. They will be back in the playoffs this season.
