3RD spot in district is wide open. Kountze & EC are in for sure. No one is our district is going to lay down and not battle for that 3rd spot. The win in Deweyville was big for the Pirates. Throw the records out this is district now. I think we have one of the best AA districts in the state.

AP = What a joke! They know nothing about high school football. If you think so look at this list.

The Deweyville Pirates will be in great shape for next year. All of the o-line will return as juniors. The Pirates will have another big Sr. class next year for leadership.

All the teams at this tournament have no quit in them. This is always a well put on tournament by Spurger.

The Pirates should be in the mix for that 3rd spot in district.

Good games hustle was unreal from all the teams I saw. Hopefully next year it can be alot bigger.

Warren is a good team but Kountze and EC are the 2 district favorites.

Graves??????? Not sure what you are talking about. Coach Bickham will make sure all sports have what they need to compete. I have and will support ALL SPORTS at Deweyville. Good luck to you and Buna in ALL SPORTS. School Board selling out to football that's crazy have you seen our 2 NEW GYMS? It just might be basketball is getting the royal treatment.

Deweyville's football players that play basketball were a little rusty Sat. They should be getting better in the weeks to come. It has to be hard for kids to go from sport to sport.

That coach resigned and left for a job in east Texas. I'm sure it is public record. Something to remember the A/D is responsible for all sports and over all sports. I'm sure it is like that in 99.9% of all schools in Texas.

Chad S. you will have to talk to the Superintendent and Principal about that. You should be more interested in the school district in which you live.

Another football hater starts a topic. I don't think he will leave for awhile. JV team only lost 1 game (PNG JV). They were district CHAMPS! I can see the Pirates making 6 or 7 straight playoff appearances in football. We now have 2 straight playoff teams in football! Wow! The A/D and his coaches are well respected by his players. He is a great fit in Deweyville and I for one hope that he and his coaching staff stay. If he ever leaves Coach Pachuca would also be a great fit in Deweyville and is well respected by the kids at the school. jmo
