I would think any girls sport could be improved with weight training.

This is a 4A school.

I figured most Athletic Directors in our area are also Head Football Coaches, so I'm looking for their comments. Do girls in your Athletic Program have a scheduled time and days to be in the weight room? Shocked when this came up in discussion at a friend's house and young lady who plays several sports at a local high school said she has never been in the weight room with any of the teams she plays on or in her off-season. To me I think it is very important that they get the same opportunities as the boys (which I'll bet the house they are in the weight room). Not looking for names or schools just trying to educate a old school guy here. Thanks

Orangefield's underclassmen( girls and boys) are very talented and have good numbers. In the up coming realignment they are one of the biggest in their classification in the state. Throw on top of that the kids have won and continue to be blue collar hard working. This will in itself be interesting to potentially great coaches out there. Not sure how OISD will select coach, by superintendent/board or committee. Keep in mind whoever does, the athletes deserve and want the coach who is a proven winner and wins!!!!!! All this other stuff on the board is just positioning for who they want. Do what is right by the athletes and bring them a proven winner.

My son had the opportunity to be coached by Chris and his Dad (who can out of retirement to help) in high school. Great coaches both of them!
