Well, In the last 4 years we have went to the playoffs in football more then basketball and baseball (mens)combined. I am on here supporting all sports for Deweyville boy and girls. In whatever sport thoses students are playing in they give 110%. That old tradition you refered to is gone in the last 3 years the Pirate football team is 20 - 12 with back to back playoffs. All of us should not live in the past but support theses young men & women at the present. I am sure they get tried of reading how they cannot compete. If you get on the field and give all you can give you have competed. P.S. Deweyville Football Rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck Coach Russell, remember every village has one.

Dave Cambells had his record in district last year at 5-1. They were a playoff team.

Coach McDaniel will bring family down and then make his decision. He is experienced as a A/D. That decision is always tough. Hopefully Coach McDaniel will accept the job and the Pirates can start to get ready for this season. However it works out for the Pirates I only wish them the best. Whoever takes the job the Pirates need to get behind them 100% or this season could be as bad as last season.

Nope. There's some very impressive Div II jobs out there. Mel Tjeerdsma of NW Missouri State is probably one of the more attractive names in the region. Unlike those on this board, I have a pretty good feel for Division II and Football Championship Subdivision football. I don't just drool at the screen over Football Bowl Subdivision football. Terror good thing you don't you could short out your computer.

This guy might be the best football mind every. However he won't fill the stadium. Lamar needs a full stadium first. I think Lamar will have good crowds the first year or two no matter who the coach is because Lamar football will be new. After that Lamar needs to start winning, no matter who the coach is, and that's the only reason people will go to the games. Billy Tubbs hired Roc and Tidwell because they can recruit, not because they were big names who would draw the crowds. I think he'll do the same with football. He'll try to get a coach who can recruit the players needed to be able to win in the 2nd or 3rd year. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Tubbs has never publicly said he's going after a big-name coach. From what I've seen so far at Lamar since Tubbs took over as athletic director is that he's quietly and methodically rebuilding the athletic program. I believe what he means by bringing back football the right way is building the instrastructure needed to support a winning program. IMHO we won't see the final results for at least 3 or 4 years from now. Nice

Russell McDaniel....New Diana coached team to playoffs this season. Stan Hodges.....Kountze finished 4th in district team has gotten better than past years. Jason Fergusion.Blooming Grove could fine alot on him need some help. Chris Pacucha...Deweyville coached offensive line and defense 3rd year. Kenneth Gilchrist....Duncanville OC likes to the throw the ball around. If anyone else has more info on these guys let's hear it. They are going to hire Thursday night.

I just hope the powers to be have made a good choice. I think Lamar's football future is riding on it. Remember you get what you pay for!
