Caldwell was a real program behind a real team! BC with one Senior faced a team with EIGHT solid Seniors one GIANT junior Middle athlete and one exceptional spiking athletic Junior, for starters. LOL Caldwell is unique in that EVERY really good athlete in the school that is female is on their team.... (and all the younger tall ones in the Jr Hi & up in the HS are being groomed for VB). A leap of logic is not needed as to why they are such a strong productive building program. BC showed their spunk in beating this team, even if it was only once. Prospects of BC Volleyball remain bright, it is coming together. Again Jordan Royal proved to be the MVP in my opinion, finding ways to get many points even facing an extremely tall seasoned Hornet front line. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To our friend-- Aggies We Erred We have been noticing your DOMINATION may be slowly turning into Constipation.. ;D Thanks for the compliments to the team ETBU, maybe have to give you another appaluse ;)

I have noticed for years that the BC Cardinals fans have just called the lassies "Cardinals" for a long time---in Softball & Volleyball especially.... However, you find the teams whose mascots are Bulldogs or Hippos etc: tend to add the "Lady" prefix to soften the name... LOL There is one thing I miss at BC that was important in the early years of the HS...and that is having everyone SING the National anthem EVERY time it was played! In these troubled times I think we should again make a positive-- singing-- statement.. Comments?

Wow, I see after one playoff game each....BC is the only team still in...OF lost earlier and H-F lost to Cameron tonight....BC will have their hands full tomorrow night...
-
More in-coming info! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ They were beat in the state semifinals last year by eventual state champions Lovejoy...they have a very solid, hard-hitting program. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Therefore a top 4 team in the State Playoffs last season & rated on one poll this season...WOW No wonder no one wanted to face this sector of the bracket play! lol

Info submitted-- Our Freshman, JV and Varsity Volleyball teams are undefeated in district play. I'm not sure of the year record. I know we lost to a 5A school in a tournament earlier in the season. There may have been more loses...but not many. Our volleyball program is solid and the head coach played on state volleyball teams back in the 90's and played for UH Volleyball. __________________ CALDWELL

Who will win out of HF and Cameron Yoe???

Easy win for H-F, Cameron cannot hang with any of 4 21-3A teams. -
Lady Cardinals dart past Lady Falcons in 4
East TX replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
A very good write-up Gabe... BC team and Coaches played the Falcons like a fiddle for the first two games, discovering slight weaknesses to exploit. Huffman had good coaching and some extreme Select tall players who came back for game #3 with a win. In the fourth game the Cardinals were able to adjust and work a host of long volleys into points that led to a sound overall win for the night. Superb conditioning, intelligent split-second decisions made up above the net; plus, having 5 players with good spiking ability being both wisely and selectively employed; led to a playoff advancement. Congrats.... -
If Bridge City runs a power offense around half the time; mixed with their spread they will swamp Coldsping....lol

To ETBU: That was nice what you said about Orangefield--they have always been troopers with good sportsmanship. I think I will give you an Applause LOL BC plays Huffman in Volleyball(Bi-District) at Barbers Hill Gym Tuesday at 7 or 8 PM. Hope to see you there. -

Lady Bears trip up BC in net warmup
East TX replied to KFDM COOP's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The bears are really good! BC needed to take on a team of that caliber before facing 3A playoff teams. Later in the day, BC took out an undefeated 2A Woodville 3-0....Woodville will do well in 2A bracketing; BC could never really overwhelm them and it was also a good warm-up for both. -
Splendora 3 Huffman 0
-
If BC takes Tarkington(a hot team lately) they might roll for a while. OF does have an even easier route in the brackets.
-
I looked at Cameron's win/loss and I think H-F will easily prevail.....Now the team that won that District is very good!
-
I saw that Huffman beat H-F in preseason so that District will be tough!
-
Who will our three 21-3A teams play in their first games?
-
A big Congrats to the Longhorns!..... This district was so close--had BC won the 5th game recently against H-F; instead of losing that game 16-14--they would have been the District Champs. You can't get any closer than that! WOW I sure hope BC and OF can play a game-set to settle who is seeded in 2nd & 3rd bracket positions. If nothing else it would give them both a great pre-playoff opponent to warm-up against. Well someone had to lose out of the top four; so better luck next year to Silsbee.

So can we assume that if BC wins tonight then OF and BC will play each other for the second place spot?
