Sorry I had received erroneous info that BC girls has won;however, losing 2-0 in the final gets a big Congrats! Just think, we had FOUR(two girls & two boys) teams up there; I can't remember any town having more than one? We had two teams play in the final game... 12s... Boys and Girls: and we had one State Champ. We have a host of assorted youth playing prime select, LL, summer ball, National level teams. THIS IS A TOWN THAT BACKS AND SUPPORTS DIAMOND SPORTS. THANK YOU COACHES AND SPONSORS FOR YOUR CONTINUING BACKING OF QUALITY YOUTH ACTIVITIES!

I think BC with Kellogg and Hicks on the mound will again take the District; however, I think that OF and BC will meet again in the semi-final round of Region III and that truly will be the State Championship game. These are the two best teams in the state going in....

AGREED, What courage against all odds in those two final games. Everyone there from the opposition were thinking at the first of two possible final games. "Well we beat them 12-1 way earlier and its just a formality and WE will be the State Champs." Wrong LOL

A doctor at an insane asylum decided to take his patients to a baseball game. For weeks in advance, he coached his patients to respond to his commands. When the day of the game arrived, everything seemed to be going well. As the National Anthem started.......the doctor yelled, "Up Nuts" And the patients complied by standing up. After the anthem ...he yelled, "Down Nuts". And they all sat back down in their seats. After a home run was hit, the doctor yelled, "Cheer Nuts". They all broke out into applause and cheered. When the umpire made a particularly bad call against the star of the home team, the Doctor yelled, "Booooo Nuts!!!" and they all started booing and cat calling. Thinking things were going very well. The doctor decided to go get a drink and a hot dog, leaving his assistant in charge. When he returned, there was a riot in progress. Finding his assistant, the doctor asked," What in the world happened? " The assistant replied, "Well, everything was going just fine till a vendor passed by and yelled PEANUTS!"

Silsbee should have dominated from the time the joined the 3A ranks because of top end enrollment levels--it just did not happen! OF is really a great little athletic school; lower enrollment and yet they are always competitive. BC is not much larger than OF but will be better than Silsbee in Softball, Volleyball and other sports this coming year. H-F will also be strong in Softball and may be the sleeper in Volleyball.

I heard BC has been saving-their-gunpowder and will have good pitching ready for both Majors and Juniors. Tonight is quite a crucial point in the Tourney play.

Becka Mathews is really great at meshing girls together and making a productive team. Pass performance says they could win the District.

Our 10 year old peewees were eliminated tonight....They had just plundered the teams around here that they played but the competition gets tough at this level. Our Major girls12 year olds that won State as ten year old, won 6-0 over a highly touted LaGrange team most picked to win it all.

I agree, when you wrap a total of 16 points on a team at this lofty level; that speaks volumes of this teams' resolve.

Bridge City Girls Majors 12 year olds ahead 6-0 against LaGrange who many thought would win the Tourney---in the winners bracket game.
