  1. This is exactly what both teams need for warm-up games!
  2. Yes Gwood... I was just joking with you ;D; however, the overall pitching for BC is quite good and Hicks is becoming more exceptional. Things have really progressed since the early days of the preseason. BC did lose to a good Nederland 4A~~~ WAY back then. BC has never played a team they could beat 15-0 like Gladewater: who some feel is a hapless situation. Seeing Nederland beat a prime PNG(this Tuesday night) with a one hitter by their stout Quarterback/ Ace Pitcher (Bellow); I feel that the loses back in early preseason are nothing to be ashamed of when that team--Nederland-- is at the top end of a good 4A District. Sorry that I feel Cuero and Longview Spring Hill are just not playing the competition that dozens of other teams are facing-- is just a personal viewpoint. LOL Lets face it Gladewater is 0-7,1-13, I pity the team Gladewater beat : My opinion is that the "stars" of 17-3A: Spring Hill and Bullard would come in at the bottom of 21-3A if that had to compete in that setting.
  3. BCs Matt Hicks struck out 15 in the last ballgame and that was against a bonafied good 3A team from a strong 21-3A District. ;D
  4. Please someone give us the exact day and game times for the boys and girls games....Thank you I have an unsubstantiated rumor that the games are re-scheduled because of 80% rain Friday evening being forecast. ???????
  5. Congrats to Huffman! You beat a good team.....What a good time of year to start excelling in hitting the softball.
  6. No score found; however, Liberty beat Cleveland bad--something like 11-4, or something like that.
  7. Again my point-- is that Taylor is playing good teams; they are not playing the Bancroft Home Room Mothers, etc: ;D As good as BC has played I am amazed that they have been able to go undefeated since early in the preseason. It is hard to not face a good team along the way that has all those seeing-eye-hits stacked together in one ballgame. Don't worry about Cuero getting beat in District. There District is quite weak! Spring Hill got clobbered early in the playoffs last year and they don't face a District of the caliber of 21-3A, IMO.
  8. BC by 5 or 10....I have come to the conclusion that BC wins so many this year because of two simple facts-- added to just being a solid hard ball team. --~~ 1. A seasoned player or two makes a really spectacular defensive play each ballgame. 2. BC's team has made less errors and also less poor split-second decisions than the other teams.
  9. Joseph Robertson 2nd base BC. One great seasoned Jr.... He has played in many playoff and important tough games since being a Freshman.
  10. I really enjoyed the JV game where BC racked up 18 runs right at the very beginning of the game~think it ended 21-2 and BC was able to let all the boys play on the JV. With Freshmen M. Menard and C. Dishon up on Varsity and making contributions this season the future continues to look bright for the Cardinals.
  11. W L W L T Taylor 9 0 17 3 0 Rockdale 7 2 17 5 0 Cameron Yoe 6 2 9 10 0 Navasota 4 4 10 8 0 Bryan Rudder 3 6 10 8 1 Caldwell 1 7 3 11 0 Madisonville 0 9 2 12 1
  12. There are 3 good teams in that stout 24-3A District........Taylor should be #1 in 3A--played a tough schedule. Ranked in the top 5, anyway. Cameron Yoe and Rockdale are really good also. They would be District winners in most Districts. I saw the Cameron Yoemen team at Madisonville Thursday night while on a little vacation-- they are good. They drop to 2A next alignment--look out 2As for both their baseball and softball teams! Get by Taylor and you could well win that side of the Region III bracketing. Huffman is really staying focused over in 22-3A...
  13. Of course the District games remaining for 21-3A and 22-3A are very important; however, the six teams that make the playoff Bracket play schedules: are fair info discussion exchange this time of year. It is quite confusing since there are 3 extra "byes" above the typical-- 7 winners byes--in post season for whoever fills these spots.
  14. To EBTU: It looks like BC has to win one game and then face another good 21-3A opponent again. Likewise, Huffman has to win one game and them face TAYLOR from 24-3A and rated #2 or #3... These second games will be(get this), Quarterfinal games.......
  15. To EBTU: This is an unusual situation, as I see it.......There are no Districts 23 nor 30 this year. Therefore, the THIRD team draws a "bye" also from 24-3A, just as you do.. : LOL ..in 22-3A. Same thing is happening down in Region IV with 30-3A being non-existant! You can look at it that both teams draw a Bye and start play the second week... So at this point Huffman will play third place team from 24-3A Following the other bracket play-- runner-up in 21-3A vs third in 22-3A--winner--gets to play the winner of 24-3A. Likewise, runner-up of 22-3A vs Third in 21-3A--winner-- gets to by-pass the second round, since the is no 23-3A winner because no 23-3A District exist. : ...Sounds like coming in third in 21-3A and beating a runner-up from 22-3A automatically projects you to the third round of play!..... A real playoff advantage........Confusing???
  16. To ETBU: Looking at the Brackets its looks...If BC wins out in 21-3A; they win there they face the possible bracket-winner -- runner-up of 24-3A. Which is probably Rockdale who has lost to powerful Taylor 5-2 and Cameron Yoe 10-8. However it could also possibly end up against Cameron Yoe who lost to Taylor 2-4 and also Taylor 9-5. How does Huffman project out, if they win District in 22-3A ? I checked it out and Huffman might possibly play the team(Rockdale or Cameron Yoe) that BC ends up not playing....LOL ;D
  17. Boy, in 3A I would love to see BC and Taylor get to scrimmage Cuero and Spring Hill-- they would show what it is like to play in an area where there are a host of good teams and also being in real competition in preseason. I was on a trip and yesterday I was a little late for the game but saw the Cameron Yoemen beat a Madisonville team 11-4. These teams have to compete with powerful 3A Taylor in District play. Cameron Yoe has lost to Taylor 5-4 and another fairly close game in District play. They are young and confident players they hope to meet again and pull a upset in the bracket play ahead. Rockdale is also loaded and in that same District--its is kind of like what OF and H-F are facing in 21-3A. H-F keep your head up you will be a force in Region 3 playoffs, we are all proud of your good new recognition in the ratings--Coach MaHaffey is bringing you along at a rapid pace.
  18. This is a classic example of two good teams meet! Both are prime teams when you look across the spectrum of 3As all across Texas. It's really nearly a toss-up with the exception that the BC Coach has some exacting knowledge; IF there is a weakness somewhere in the offensive or defensive armor of this fine H-F team. With a win it puts BC somewhat in the drivers seat; however, a loss opens this District race up for several teams.
  19. To SETX Football: Do you have to be feeling your Oats to be--"barley beating teams" ;D
  20. With a little time to reflect; I feel both teams deserve their high ratings.
  21. Zoch, Cessac, Dishon, Snyder, Mathews LOL Dishon has not pitched yet
  22. I expect a good game....I have never seen OF lay down and play dead in a hardball game!
  23. I have been impressed with the play of Anthony Cessac of BC. He has just-- willed-- himself into a producer--both on the mound and at the plate. He is the kind of lad with the sometime overlooked qualities that helps a team shine in the playoffs.
  24. This is a tough formidable District setting! There is a good chance no team will make it through all the District games undefeated. What a good place for the three emerging playoff teams to hone their skills getting ready for viable playoff bracket encounters. I look for all of our playoff teams to make some noise against other District representatives later.
  25. I respectfully submit a-Pockets of Strength Across Texas Poll: #1 Taylor #2 Bridge City #3 Sinton #4 Kennedale #5 Orangefield #6 Sweeny #7 Lufkin-Hudson #8 Wharton #9 Giddings #10 Hamshire-Fannett #11 Huffman #12 Carthage #13 Spring Hill #14 Bullard #15 Cuero #16 Mineola #17 Celina #18 Bellville #19 Rockdale tie~~~#20 Aransas Pass & Robinson Please post your top 20 also, for comments..
