  1. Like a whole bunch of 21-3A contest this season--perpetual toss-ups!
  2. Congrats to everyone who played in this Tourney! This type Tourney could become the norm; in that it simulates the stress on Pitching staffs when they hit the live-or-die three game sets in bracket play. Bring the temperature up to 90 degrees plus and you have a situation comparable to those higher bracket playoff games. Everyone learned this weekend a little about endurance baseball settings...Again Congrats on a special Tourney.
  3. Congrats to OF! You are starting to turn some heads around the state. This 21-3A will send three good teams to the bracket play on down the way!
  4. Bring your gun, Mr. Jealously ;D and time his speed this year! Or better yet just try to bat against him.
  5. Boy, just reading, there are some jealous people in the area..... BC is just a very respectable program with a long history of good baseball going back to the incipient programs in the 1950s. We welcome this young man to town: he is joining a fine group of young men who thrive on diamond-teamwork. It is great that he can join a team with 7 very viable Pitchers already; Matt Hicks is now hitting 92 mph and Celab coming in throws good junk and assorted curves up to 88 mph that augments & fits in well with the other great Pitchers in the BC mix. It will be a strain to win ALL the games in this tough District; BUT, look out in those 3 game playoff bracket sets later! This team will nail you from the mound both this year and next year.
  6. If it is an out-of-state school doesn't that negate the TXs system? I have seen them come over to TXs to play football at other schools, down here in Lapland... ;D
  7. To--T Daddy: Bring that team down here and face some of the 4As & 5As on the coast and you will see this is a strong District with poised teams. How bad did Vidor & Dayton beat you?
  8. Rumor is he actually came from Florida and has resided for a time in Louisiana and his Father found employment in the Golden Triangle. He is also another D1 prospect, supposedly. BC is a nice place to consider moving into and they take their diamond sports quite seriously.....Welcome! As a Junior now, he too can beef up the Cardinal team next year-- for a strong playoff statement. What would keep him from playing right now?
  9. I base my poll on strength of schedule and strong pockets of baseball across the state: #1 Taylor #2 Bridge City #3 Robinson #4 Robstown #5 Lufkin Hudson #6 Orangefield ...... #15 H-F
  10. Is it now 13-2 since BC beat Lumberton and Central in the BC Tourney?
  11. Have seen them both several times; will predict that Nederland will win.
  12. This is baloney.... The defensive player could in no way make the play to first place and even could not make the out at second. It was a well hit ball that you would have had to have had a 140 mph long-distance arm to even have a chance to get the runner crossing first base. The JUDGEMENT call by the seasoned bookkeeper was right on...BC had three hits against LCM and the third hit was a correct judgement call up in the field box! LCM had a hit recorded against them in regular seven innings(in the 5th inning). The judgement call overwhelmingly stands as correct! Congrats to both teams on a great game.
  13. I took a little time to check out the top five teams in 3A. They all have played a soft schedule; playing mediocre 3As for the most part! I would rate this thing as #1Taylor, #2 Bridge City, #3 Robinson, #4 Robstown, #5 Abilene Wiley, #5 Lufkin Hudson........ and would move Orangefield up to #6. The local teams can compete with this published top Coaches' list.
  14. That LCM staff pitching looked pretty good giving up several hits to the Cards...Congrats.
  15. I think it is wonderful that the 4As and 5As like LCM & WB etc: will play BC. All our teams are trying to get better; to try to have our local teams poised to climb deep into the playoffs. Hopefully, BC will stick apparently to the preseason game play--to pitch Hicks as the closer on last innings of play. It is good for Matt to not burn out early-on. It is also good for the big array of Pitching Staff to have to shoulder most of the load in preseason and even some District games! That gives you the savvy and skill to maybe advance in the torrid playoff situation this season.
  16. Please post the Ratings and give the bookmark for future references....Thank you
  17. I am sure glad they are saving Hicks for later. Don't want to pitch-him-out before District and Playoff start. Closing, with one or two innings is just right to keep him sharp and ready. Who cares about winning every game at this point in the season, unless you can win it using your pitching depth.
  18. Matt Menard & Cameron Dishon(Freshman)will both end up D-1 prospects. BC is loaded with Fr & So young talented diamond athletes for 3A ball.
  19. BC and LCM were fairly evenly matched this evening. Two exceptional teams. BC shined in the base running department: they were stealing bases at will--one fast group of youngsters. Both teams had a HR--Rhodes pumped it over for BC, but I did not get the name of the Bear that put one over the fence. A good beneficial scrimmage for both! (Sorry, I see I was corrected. I did not see the whole scrimmage and relayed some misunderstood info unintentionally). Moral, Don't arrive late and leave early and also post ;D...What I have seen thus far is that BC is a premium 3A program in this early part of the season.
  20. Just a hard fact 21-3A teams are much stronger than 22-3A teams this season. Liberty will have to play a great game to get an upset.
  21. Please relay any statewide New Polls as they are disclosed. Thanks you enquiring minds want to know? LOL
