  1. For many decades now all those Harringtons and their descendants have sure made great diamond sport Pitchers. LOL
  2. Good performance Bears. There is nothing like that deep pitching 1-2-3-4 team when faced with viable playoff teams.
  3. I am sorry because I did not know that Jackson's name was not brought forward for consideration...... I don't know but there is a possibility that Ole Gabe was not informed of this. Please forgive my ignorance!
  4. Thank you Gabe! You had a right to question this activity that left Casey Jackson out. Politics can be ugly. I wish there were no Polls by Coaches--period--I think more people get hurt by the fall-out. Best of luck for your continuing dedication and coverage: a lot of folks agree with you on this issue.
  5. Sweeny has two good Pitchers--Riley Hornbeck a Senior and Arron Hollins a Junior: they are quite seasoned and good. Who will H-J counter with as a second and third Pitcher? It could be determined by the strength match up of the third Pitcher for each team. At one time Logan Ferguson, Josh Rogers, and Dylan Lundy were Pitching for H-J---would #3 in-line be one of these or someone else?
  6. As deep as the talent base is, I can't see any going straight to the Pros in our geographic area. Yes, there are a couple that properly coached in JUCO could make the move after a couple of seasons. Sorry, but the chances are rare as hens teeth to jump a needed notch: an go Pro from HS ball.
  7. I think I will take Sweeny. They won their District and have depth in pitching.
  8. Guess everyone has an opinion stated: so here goes mine! LOL I have seen it before many times through the years at the politics-of-the-losers overrides the predominates of the winning teams' players. Example: Several years ago in softball BC again went undefeated and did quite well. BC had a dominate player Meagan Godwin and also some other very premium players. That year only Meagan got awards because the stated other Coaching reasoning was that she was all BC had that was of quality. Nothing could have been further from the truth 4 years ago! When overlooked for political reasons it hurts the chances for those D-1 scholarship full-rides. What a slap in the face for a four year true star in Casey Jackson: who has led a team to the final four several times and had to be walked(or hit) so many times this year to keep him from knocking even more HRs. Just glad everyone has had an opportunity to voice their opinion on this thread--I think that this is quite healthy.
  9. Bellville has three premium players-- Leif Luetge a great Senior Catcher; Kyle Mueller SO Pitcher; & Joe Tallerine Offensive MVP last season. They lost to Jasper 4-3, 4-11, 0-3 last year and the pitching is down a bit this season. Bellville is 8-2 & 16-3. They are in slump right now having lost their last two District games to Caldwell and Navasota. Jasper should have an easy time with them except it will maybe be a tossup or closer game when they go against Kyle Mueller.
  10. I think BC can take them. Needville beat a rather hapless Caldwell- a #3 Dist. team with a 6-4 and 9-25-1 record-- in three games. Needville has a record of 10-4 and 18-4 this season. Sweeny won the District down there and they are really tough this season. BC beat them(Needville) in the Regional Quarterfinals last year 4-3, 5-8, 3-6. I would expect them to possibly win one of the games, they still have Senior Colton Schmidt back to pitch; but it drops off after that. BC has some depth at pitching and that should make the difference.
  11. I could not be there last night I went to a bunting exhibition. In reading the reports it sounds like there may have been two scrimmages in this outing. PNG won the first 2 innings 6-0 and BC won the rest of the game play 4-1.....Is this an accurate assessment?
  12. If no one from the District Champs from BC is in the District recognition--then it is a bogus meaningless trade out by the losers in joint voting authority.
  13. It is kind of amusing to read over this--two or three PNG fans seem scared to death of facing BC in a game-like situation. My take is that PNG can hold their own against BC; even if not and PNG gets an eye-opener tonight I don't think it will collapse the good program exhibited by the Indians thus far.
  14. Jason Clark pitched a great game against this scrappy team last year. Who will they go with? Clark, Dillon or Hicks?
  15. Two good teams: important warm-up for both! BC will hold their own, are more.
  16. WOW, That was two good teams meet! Biggio will be the Head Coach there next year. Since they are not a public school can you imagine the drawing power of youth from all over Greater Houston to get to play for him as their HS Coach. That is one good solid team that won the District where Kelly is also a member.
  17. Having not majored in Computer Science, I was just wondering how to go back to previous postings that have walked off the bottom of the present page?
  18. GOOD POINT SIR: I also noticed that Pleasanton Eagles that are actually 18-12 are listed on this Poll above as 20-7 and rated at #10 statewide! That team would be the caboose in 21-3A. LOL
  19. I just wanted to pass along some vital information about how to train for speed/quickness. This is paramount information for training from a professional ergonomics/body mechanics prospective. It gives the correct methods and also those that can really hinder a youth. Go to-- Speed Training-- and have an informative read.. Hope this is helpful! www.Finchwindmill.com OK OK go to -studies- -----> then the third one down is -speed training- LOL
  20. I have seen the Polls out there and I don't think they are accurate: they must be based of STATS alone. Medina Valley played a selected weak pre-season including some questionable 4As & 5As. They are also in a horrible District setting and were only a "so-so" team last season. MaxPrep stats say; Ex. Lytle 17-12: Pleasanton Eagles 18-12; Poteet Aggies 3-18 and Somerset Bulldogs 6-12-2. This is incredible, they lost a non-District game to 3A Bandera who is also in a weak-sister District. Bandara finished 9-2 in District...Now get this Llano 16-12; Ingram Moore 11-8; Wimberley 9-13; in overall games stats for that District. I would venture that Medina Valley, Sinton, & Cuero(all in the top 4) could not make the playoffs in 21-3A. I would further inject: that I would think a dozen Region III teams would beat any of them at present.
  21. THSBCA polls (4-17) 1.MEDINA VALLEY 26-1 2.CUERO 23-2-1 3.BRIDGE CITY 22-3 4.SINTON 20-5 5.KENNEDALE 18-1 6.SNYDER 22-5 7.LUFKIN HUDSON 19-6 8.HARDIN- JEFFERSON 17-6 9.ANDREWS 17-6 10.CARTHAGE 18-5 I read with interest how both Polls out there for 3A always keep three teams for Region IV in the top four places. When one wanes they are replaced with another one from Region IV. My personal opinion is that Bridge City, Hardin-Jefferson and Jasper could all beat any teams from Region IV. It appears that the folks that live in a geographic region just tend to prop-up the teams that are around them. Any thoughts? I could put up a Poll but it would not look anything like the one being presented by Region IV folks.....LOL Makes one wonder where the poll originators went to HS? LOL
  22. H-J came into the last game way over confident judging from the post on here at that time. I hope for their sake it is only fans making these post. I see a good game but I don't see H-J putting a blemish on these young Cards--maybe not a shutout but it will be a good game.
  23. Of course it came out like I had hoped; however, our three advancing teams should really do well because no one else in other districts have faced such a barrage of good teams. Best of luck to all!
  24. Cuero and Medina Valley have not played anywhere near the torrid schedule that BC has.....Where to we e-mail to make our thoughts known? LOL :
  25. Since our young players have come through so well I think a 6 run win might well happen.
