  1. Yep, BC stomped Carthage and then Jasper vs BC Regionals proved to all in the state that these two teams were #1 & 2. It could happen again this season that they meet for the Regional Championship. 1. Carthage 27-0 2. Abilene Wylie 27-1-1 3. Falfurrias 25-5 4. Texarkana Liberty-Eylau 24-5 5. Marion 22-1 6. Sinton 23-5-1 7. Jasper 26-5 8. Celina 24-5 9. Bridge City 23-5-1 10. Mineola 27-4
  2. Looks like Harrington PNG & Casey Jackson BC have the most Long Balls.
  3. To Sportsnut: BC won that Tournament but lost one game....Just what team were you watching at the BC Tourney that won all their games?
  4. I noticed that BC has a host of long ball hitters some are---Breaux, Dillon, Jackson, Cessac, Robertson, Snyder, Hicks, Clark, maybe some more? If there are any more please post. I was quite impressed with 2nd baseman Mathews who laced a bee-line drive that hit the wall very hard: now that is great for a young 130# man, WOW! Note----Also add Hubbard with a couple!
  5. I think maybe BC wins this first one. But in my opinion the next one is all BC; these young kids have all the components to gel and be a premium team for 3A.
  6. Jadon Dillon already a great athlete may end up the best in the area and be a force in the playoffs for Bridge City. He really impressed me against Central; he puts a good "dance" on a hardball.
  7. You know, I watched Cessac, Snyder and Breaux slam HRs for BC tonight and it is hard to believe these lads were playing behind great performers last year. BC has a great bench and JV each year; ready to step in when it becomes their turn. That is one HR able solid team this year!
  8. This team is right on schedule for the start of District play. They will only get better as the Pitching bunch comes around. A lot of players stepping up the pace and the dynamics of the teamwork begins to mesh.
  9. Wow, This thing has been read 445 times. I would like to congratulate all the girls in this sport. The body mechanics involved would take a whole book to explain! Please post up coming events clearly so folks other than parents are more apt to come and see the action.
  10. Also, Be ready for Cessac, Dillion and Robertson and several others emerging, on the mound for BC.....We would love to get teams is a 3-game series in the playoffs this year!
  11. I think by playoff time--Jadon Dillon and Jason Clark will be premier Pitchers for Bridge City, These are two excellent Seniors with a lot of game savvy.
  12. That Buna is tough for a 2A unit; they play-up very well!
  13. Breaux and Dillon are the best I have seen. BC ready by District time.
  14. Wow, this rascal is up to 340 times. I think powerlifting and softball performance compliment each other. Let's visit each others events!
  15. I am amazed that this message was read 274 times. Three sentences were about Power-lifting and quite a few about HS softball. Guess I mis-judged where to enter a combined compliments statement.
  16. "We will keep away from coaches names and players names being shed in a positive light." Sir, I believe you meant to say in a NEGATIVE light........That is sometimes called in some circles--a Freudian Slip!
  17. I see that the Bridge City Power-lifters won the big Power-lifting Meet. I would like to say congrats to ace 3b softball player VALERIE BROWN with the 350# squat that pulled out the win for her team over #2 Westbrook #3 Nederland #4 Vidor #5 Memorial #6 Ozen # 7 Kelly. Also, congrats for her crucial triple against Kelly at the last scrimmage. Wow, a superior softball Soph., beautiful cheerleader, a scholar and a very sweet lassie! Also, congrats to A. Angelle and Sarah McClure Freshman aspiring softball players on their aiding points in the powerlifting event. Compliments also to the BC SB Coaching staff on scheduling there team against the higher enrollments in the LaPorte, Pasadena & Manvel(Fort Bend)Tourneys....Feb 14th 5A Channelview & 5A LaPorte and Feb 15th 5A Dulles, just to name a few. The Pasadena Tourney 21st-23 includes Pasadena 5A, Rayburn 5A, Barbers Hill 4A, Baytown Lee 5A and our good friends Nederland 4A. At the Manvel Tourney, teams to be faced include New Caney 4A, Angleton 4A, Laporte 5A and Lake Travis-Austin 4A to name a few. Also, I see in this weeks poll-- Medina Valley is still deserving of the #1 3A rating--Congrats! It is interesting that Medina Valley the big 4A drop down that won the 3A title last year was never ever rated in 2007; in fact they had lost 11 early non-district games. They had had their nose bloodied by all the good 5As that would play them in preseason; it takes a special team to take a lot of losses trying to get a little better.
  18. Ozen vs Bridge City Cardinals I was quite surprised at the giant talent base available for the Cardinals. This team will be another good one again this year. They won over 4A Ozen. I was a little worried about replacing Johnny Dishon an all- time favorite. There was a perfect "between" long hit ball and Dustin Breaux(CF) made a great leaping catch; I sat back and said to myself, "The talent is still emerging" This team should be ready by District time, I am not worried that there will be a let-down this season. Years of quality select ball by many Uth seems to always payoff. Guess folks do read this stuff LOL
  19. Though only a Sophomore, Hicks is by-far the best SS along the Gulf Coast. What accuracy and what an arm!
  20. I would like to say that these are both great programs. I have attended. I only wish this SITE would give an ongoing list of places, dates, and times of games within reasonable driving distance. If people had just a little lead time from info displayed on here; I am sure the attendance and even support would rise. I had some good and funny times with the fans as we exchanged clean and funny jokes between the innings. It is a good casual experience for fans to support the Uth.
  21. Sam Moore is one of the best at teaching and un-teaching in Texas LOL For a High School Coach--Coach Byrd at Barbers Hill is probably the best in all classifications.
  22. Having read back over this whole group of replies; I am still of the conclusion that there are really only two best teams and that is Jasper and Bridge City. Orangefield could easily slip into the third playoff spot. BC and Jas. should be listed as #1 and #2 in the state in the initial polls.
  23. That JV was fairly stout! They could have taken some of the District teams last year. I wish that they would schedule this years' JV against some(Varsity) 2A & 1A teams from TX & LA. They need some stiff competition to get better for later HS play.
  24. To R. B. Maroon: When Silsbee dropped down into 3A with a huge enrollment we all expected them to dominate in all sports, it did not happen! In fact, they have kind of been, also-rans. They should have had a better year in baseball with Schooling etc:, last season. I would guess you will be competitive but I don't see you making the playoffs, even though you have a huge enrollment to choose from.
  25. Lumberton wins on late season depth but it will be a hard-fought battle.
