Worst "sports" in the Olympics?
Monkeynuts replied to PhatMack19's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I agree completely also. Some of these sports are a joke- trampoline-badminton (and the matches where fixed?) - pellet gun shooting with a crowd of 5 people (all of which are relatives and judges). Baseball and Softball need to be brought back. US getting pushed around by European BS again. -
What Olympic sport would you like to see in SE Texas?
Monkeynuts replied to PNGDAD's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Thanks Falcon- sounds like the European countries have to much power on the voting. -

Why has baseball been voted down as an olympic sport and badminton/hand ball/10M pellet gun shooting are considered olympic sports? Someone please explain to me why baseball got the axe? Lots of countries it is the #2 sport of choice. -

Montgomery ranking based on the last few years of consistency. This year we are young playing do or die schedule. Angleton Wk1 Pearland Dawson Wk2- by district you'll know what this team is made of. IMO we are going to have a tuff year, but lots of talent coming.
-
Which Rookie would you want on your team. I'll take Mike Trout- leading the AL in steals-batting average- plus turning the Angels around after being called up and not having the BIG HEAD like Harper. I know pitching usually comes first (draft) but this kid looks like the real deal.

4A DCTF Rankings & Coaches Poll
Monkeynuts replied to BrenhamFan's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I've been watching West coach at Brenham for awhile and he has won many games on his good coaching alone espiecially the tight games against Montgomery in the last 5 years. To win state all takes alot things to happen- no injuries, turnovers, bracket with hot teams, etc. Brenham has not hit stride at right time but it will happen in time. Teams in our area would love to have West and they try to model their teams around his success. I personally believe that they need to take on tougher competition in the two out of district games to be ready for the later round playoff games. Teaches you how to win the close games, which have bit them the last few years. -
Somebody tried to warn you guys about that hot Arizona club - just can't think of who it was. ;)
-
Arizona- on a hot streak right now- hope Stoney Brook wins though- if they won it all it would be upset story of the year- go seawolves

Thanks for the updates Brenhamfan just got home- looks like Ty didn't have his best stuff today. Still a great run for this team and they overachieved to get this far. Team is young and will be strong next year. Congrats on a great year BEARS!!!! [Hidden Content] Of the 10 starters in Thursday’s state semifinal game – including left fielder Bodhi Bell, who was DHed for by Gunner Vaught – nine will return to next year’s team including #1 pitcher Ty Boland. In fact, the Bears had only eight seniors out of the 29 players on its playoff roster :)

Brenhamfan could you cheer on the Montgomery Bears for us that can not be there (where purple if you can stand it)- just keep your green magic shoes on to help us win state!!!

Thanks Brenhamfan- been working late out of town just tuned into the game. How has Montgomery scored- errors? Looks like this team has gone under the radar but not no more! This team has been solid in the field and really made good fundamental plays (great in the playoffs). Should have stuck with your BEARS pick Brenhamfan- the way they are playing they would have beat Barber Hill Also!!

Sounds like we had a inning get away (6 runs) but Chris Cooper and Luke Heeman (relievers) have been clutch cleaning up bad innings. The bats won this game with big hits and the 3 homeruns. Good time for the homeruns as we have not hit many (regular season) this year. The stagger pitching might work this time after the great offensive game and big early lead. [Hidden Content]
