  1. I wonder if you could get some clarification from your friend Chad about the extension of play after time expired. It's really a pretty interesting topic.
  2. Lmao. Not really. Too many rules and too many goofy people trying to argue the facts. Most of my "discussion skills" come from being married.
  3. Extension of Periods ARTICLE 3. a. A period shall be extended for an untimed down if one or more of the following occurs during a down in which time expires (A.R. 3-2-3-I-VIII): 1. A penalty is accepted for a live-ball foul(s) (Exception: Rule 10-2-5- a). At the option of the offended team, the period is not extended if the foul is by the team in possession and the statement of the penalty includes loss of down (A.R. 3-2-3-VIII). 2. There are offsetting fouls. 3. An official sounds their whistle inadvertently or otherwise incorrectly signals the ball dead. b. Additional untimed downs will be played until a down is free of the circumstances in statements 1, 2 and 3 of Rule 3-2-3-a (above). c. If a touchdown is scored during a down in which time in a period expires, the period is extended for the try (Exception: Rule 8-3-2-a). If the official incorrectly signaled the ball dead, then an untimed down is appropriate. That's the rule that has me curious. I don't know if that's happened one way or the other. I'm merely stating contrary to our riled up little bulldog that there are other circumstances for an extended period after time has expired (see above). @Dirty_but_Dazzling, you clearly stated the only reason for an untimed down was for a defensive penalty. You were wrong. Own it. Sorry to break it to you, but you can't have it both ways. You can't be right and wrong at the same time. You also said "NO TIME = END OF GAME". Wrong again mama...
  4. Please don't argue with him. He knows better than anyone else. Plus he'll lock the topic and hide if you keep trying to explain yourself.
  5. That was never an issue... so why are you complaining and spewing false rules and hiding from the responses? Lol. You're so silly.
  6. I already schooled you on the thread you locked up. Do you need me to do it again? Know the rules before you try to incorrectly apply them...
  7. Cmon CB, you know it's more like 48/40/12... A blind man can see it.
  8. 100% correct. But as good of a coach as one may be, you are limited with your success based on the tools in the tool belt. You can't build a house with a hammer but no nails.
  9. There are times when an extension of play is allowed. Defensive penalty as you stated. Extra point after a touchdown is another reason for an extension after time has expired. Offsetting fouls in some circumstances can extend the play. Inadvertent whistle is another reason. An official sounds their whistle inadvertently or otherwise incorrectly signals the ball dead. There are a few other reasons too. I can look them up for you. You said “NO TIME = END OF GAME(unless it's a defensive penalty on the play)” You were wrong then and you are wrong now. It’s not a debate. Sorry you were wrong.
  10. Not sure I understand. What exactly happened?
  11. If he’s that good and drug up on his team mates, I guess I can’t blame the coach.
  12. Because truly, it's a combination. I'll take a balance of both leaning a bit towards talented athletes.
  13. All that may be true, but they are not in the same league with Silsbee.
  14. For instance, let's say you're LCM and you're going to go down to the district with Silsbee, HF, WOS and Jasper... OR you could opt up and play against Lumberton, Huffman, Splendora, Livingston... I know what I would do.
  15. If Lumberton's QB moves to Silsbee next week, he'd be a real good back-up.
  16. I guess it's semantics, but the dude has never even played for LCM; therefore, not an impactful player... It's not important though. He won't be playing this Friday night. Has he at least been able to practice with the team?
