Silsbee lost is the most relevant bit of info from Friday night. I hope they can get over whatever is ailing them (injuries, oline, etc) and win against the better teams. -
Herein lies the problem. And it’s just as bad on the football forum as the poli forum.

Anyone surprised so far? -
With all due respect, that is the fault of the Admin’s for letting it get out of hand. I’m not saying to be heavy handed either. It should have been dealt with ages ago the more contentious it got. It wasn’t, so now you get what we have here today. It’s possible that someone or maybe even a few are letting it go, so it will implode and be discontinued. Just a thought.

It was more of a rhetorical question to be used as an additional reminder. I don't mind a little ribbing and having a good time, but I've gotten to the point that the meanness is really over the top sometimes.

Thank you. And wouldn't the same be applied for poster to poster comments? I'm more sick of that than anything...

@setxathlete14 @Right99JOH, In response to your comment on the closed thread about only caring about what your family thinks and no one else, aren't we all a family of God's children?

Good luck! I'm not hunting til gun season, but my son is bow hunting. Not much to talk about for him right now. Only small does and yearlings coming out right now.

Been too young for the last 4 or 5 seasons you think? -
It doesn't matter what offense/defense you run unless 1. you have a good coach that can come up with a scheme that suits the athletes he has, 2. have enough good athletes to be competitive against teams in your district and beyond and 3. support from the community / school board to back the program, especially financially. @Right99JOH is correct in saying that success breeds success, but there are plenty more factors than running a specific offense. If the program was successful running the slot, then nobody would be bitching about it. What you have to consider is what of the three main principles above is missing? I'm guessing 1 & 2...
-
Right. So if the numbers were better when Mathews was there, and they were running the old misdirection ground plays as they are now, then the need for excitement from a newly revamped offense might not be the key. I don't think a little freshness would hurt, but I don't thinks it's the only answer. For most years, Vidor has only had so many tools in the toolbox - that hasn't changed much year in and year out. The key to a successful program is 3 fold: A good coach that can get kids & community to buy-in (possibly the most important tenet) Players with enough athleticism to be able to learn & execute whatever scheme the coach comes up with Parents & community to back the coach & his program Changing out the offensive scheme wouldn't hurt, but it's honestly not what's holding Vidor back.

While I’m not totally against it, it’s not that appealing to me. Here are a few reasons: 1. I will not receive any immediate benefit, as I am a salaried employee. Lower the overall FWT on all taxable payroll, and let everyone reap the benefit of the tax break. 2. I would assume that it would just be only premium portion of overtime hours worked. It would still be a savings of FWT, but not nearly what people are thinking. 3. Anytime tax revenue is forfeited, it has to be made up somewhere else. I wonder where the lost revenue will come from? He may have a good answer for that question, but for now, it is an unknown.

That is correct sir.
