Jasper 32, Splendora 20. I'm gonna call it closer than most of you just because the current Bulldogs haven't been in this situation and I think they'll start a little sluggish and pick it up as the game progresses...

Up until recently, Mizzou wasn't very good. That is high praise and it's great to see one of our guys doing well, but it's not like Missouri has been a LB factory.

I would have felt the same way if I were those guys. Silsbee has a lot of heart and I have a ton of respect for them. Jasper had them dead to rights at halftime and they did a great job of coming back. If you've paid attention to our games the past couple of years, you know that the Dogs have folded a lot in games like this (WO-S and Livingston come to mind this year) and it's nice to see them come back and win tonight. Hopefully, their 5-1 finish will translate into playoff success.

The clock never started and Bailey was forced to throw instead of running out the clock and taking a safety. The pass was caught and run to about the Silsbee 20 before the receiver was tackled to end the game...

He's a good man, too, and I enjoyed learning from him. It's a shame that he's not still coaching in Jasper, but everything happens for a reason.

I think he finally realized that the grass is greener in Jasper and that he'll stay. He's said that he only wants to coach a few more years anyway, but who knows how long that will be...

You forgot the part where HF pulls off the upset beats Kirbyville and Silsbee goes home anyway because they couldn't beat Jasper by 17. ;D

I'm sure you'd love to see your Mustangs get another shot at them. I think WOS might be tougher on defense then they have been lately and that will at the very least keep them in games. I'm not ready to say the same for Jasper yet because we couldn't stop you guys at all when it counted...

I was right there with you and thought we'd beat Livingston to get to 7-3. We're not there yet, though. I heard someone on the OT say that may not be anyone that can get past 2 rounds. I think anyone in this district can....especially the D1 rep that doesn't draw Giddings.

No. HF is out. Most likely scenario is the winner of Silsbee and Jasper gets in. Jasper can lose to Silsbee by less than 17 and still get in if HF beats Kirbyville. District tiebreakers are so much fun...

We've been in this spot before and have lost, so if it ends up a 2-0 win for Jasper in a rainy quagmire, that's fine with me. ;D

Why did GW stop coaching? I know he didn't leave Jasper on the best terms, but I thought he'd keep going somewhere else...

They asked on the KJAS broadcast when the last time was that Jasper scored 60+ twice in a season. The answer? 1953 when they beat Kirbyville (61-0) and San Augustine (75-6) in consecutive weeks. Thanks to WOS87 for the historical info that I used. Final: Jasper 61-0

I hope not. They could have called this one halfway through the second quarter and I would have been happy. HJ can't do anything on Jasper's defense and can't do anything to stop us... Those kids are embarrassed enough as it is...
