  1. Stats don't lie and the Mustangs are very good as always, but what you see on Jasper's side of the ledger is a bit misleading as roughly half of their production has come in the last two games. The lightbulb finally came on and I expect a great ballgame. It's too close to call...but both teams better bring it.
  2. Final was 37-16...but we look GREAT right now.
  3. How are we looking? I just got home...
  4. Bo Lamar of USL had over 3000 points. Why isn't he on that list?
  5. That's true...but Brooks gets a ton of credit from me for making the adjustments he did. He seems to have a great feel for what he wants to do and knows how to make it happen.
  6. I know. He must have been amazing. It would be nice to have someone like that around now to help get LU back on the map, but I think they're gonna get there soon enough anyway if Coach Roc keeps bringing in the talent like he is...
  7. I don't wanna cheat and even if I did, I'm not sure where I'd look. I had two favorites growing up...Tommy Sewell and James Gulley. I remember emulating Gulley's baseline turnaround jumper when I was a skinny 5'1" guard on my 8th grade team in Jasper and watching Sewell when I was learning to shoot before that. I never saw Olliver play, though...
  8. Great question. I don't have a clue...
  9. That was one of the few things ex-AD Peterson did right.
  10. It was convenient that NU was involved. It's been a rough month or so for us and I needed something positive to think about. Sadler was a great hire for the Huskers, but Big XII basketball is a huge hill to climb.
  11. That's cool. I figured my avatar would be a subtle clue as to where to look first. Hey...is Daniels playing anywhere? I know Denver looked at him last year, but I haven't heard anymore about him.
  12. I agree with you. Jasper finally figured it out on both sides of the ball and should be able to beat HF. I think WOS might be walking into a hornet's nest next week, too, but I'll reserve certainty of that until the end of the game Friday night. The HF game will give us a good indication of how well these adjustments have worked. My prediction this week isn't meant to stir the pot with you Longhorn supporters. It just seems apparent that all of the signs are there that Jasper is regaining whatever "it" is that we had when we were at our peak and able to play with almost anyone.
  13. I ain't gonna lose any sleep over it. It's just Kirbyville. Order will be restored very soon...
  14. It would take a little research. I stumbled on it while trying to find out what Foster's doing these days.
  15. Nope. Brooks joined Gillispie at Kentucky...
  16. Since you got that one, I'll ask the next one. Which current Big XII coach was once an assistant to Pat Foster at Lamar?
  17. That was my guess, too. That kid could play. Wasn't he from NYC?
  18. Congrats, Rockies. Now finish the job! ;D
  19. How many of the wins in the 80-game home winning streak were coached by Pat Foster and where were the games he won during the streak played? ;D
  20. 1. Jason Grant 2. Toronto 3. Tubbs 4. Roc
  21. It has to be....and from probably the least likely team other than the D-Rays. ;D
  22. I'm with you there. Back in those days, LU could play with (and it seemed lose to) anyone on any given night. I truly believed that Coach Tubbs could get it started up again and I think the best thing he did was bringing Coach Roc with him. I think they're one or two outside threats away from being very tough in the SLC again. Everyone knew that they couldn't spread the floor and that killed them along with all of the free throw problems. Don't Sewell, Veney, and Sundblad have any eligibility left?
  23. Yep...wiped the floor with them too.
  24. Lamar once defeated a defending national champion. Do you remember who it was?
