  1. The results speak for themselves. We haven't had a first half like this in a couple of years at least. OF is helping a lot though with their mistakes, but Bailey's doing a nice job...
  2. Jasper kicks a 22-yard FG (gasp!!!) to go up 18-0. Good start for the Dogs. Stubblefield isn't QB tonight. What's up with that, Bulldog fans? I didn't know there was a change...
  3. It's probably gonna be Holliday, which I'd be pleased with...but I think Soriano should be talked about a lot more than he is. The Cubs would be screwed without him...
  4. I was in Denver from '93 through '99 when they were just getting started. Denver is a GREAT baseball town and it's nice to see what most thought was MLB's equivalent to purgatory have some success. Having said that, they need to get game 1 to win the series and I think they will. Go Rockies...
  5. I'll take the Rockies in 5...maybe 4 if they can steal game 1 tomorrow. Francis vs. Hamels is a pretty good matchup...
  6. Wow...what a great ballgame. Holliday never touched home, but he got the call. Go Rockies!!!! ;D
  7. So much for that. Hurdle screwed up bigtime by putting Jorge frickin Julio in.
  8. Cardinal Rule #1 : Stay away from Lumberton. Just kidding. ;D
  9. Cheaters? What in the world are you talking about? :
  10. Jasper guys used to play there all the time. From everything I've heard, it's an underrated party school. ULL gets all the pub though...
  11. I was hoping you weren't partying the WHOLE time in Lake Charles... ;D
  12. You're an alumnus and McNeese is your alma mater. I'm thinking that I'd have gone there too if I had finished HS in Jasper instead of Denver...
  13. I was there for his first year as a Bulldog and he even moved into the house I was in when we left for Colorado. He's a great guy and I pull for him unless he's playing us. How long has he been there anyway?
  14. I'm really impressed with what Coach Alvarez is doing down there. He learned everything he knows as an assistant in Jasper, though... ;D
  15. Was away from my desk and didn't hear it...
  16. Judging from Jasper's offense this year so far, I'd say it's a combination of both.
  17. Yeah...I think so too. If he can get the program back to where it was when he left, they'll really be something...
  18. Jasper's almost always sloppy nowadays. I'm surprised it's this close. I hate to say that about the Dogs...but it is what it is...
  19. Cammack is still learning how to do this after taking over for Coach Brack. He'll get better...
  20. From what I've heard, yeah. Being in Seattle, I haven't seen him...
  21. Every small town that does games has homer announcers. That's the way it goes. To be fair, I'm not a big fan of Dr. Cammack's color commentary, but I think Art Lay is as good as anyone down there. He's been doing Jasper games for probably 30 years...
  22. I'm with ya on that one. He went nuts on Jasper in the '82 playoffs for over 300 yards when Jasper had shut out 9 of the previous 12 opponents and given up 23 points that entire season to that point. Willowridge rolled in that game 34-7.
  23. You're right about that. Jasper was always very good at every level back in those days and much like Newton, everything that they did was consistent across the board with every coach and every player. They had virtually the same coaches at both the junior high and high school levels for a long time, too.
  24. I thought about that, too. It doesn't seem like the offense we run fits the athletes. Bring back the 'bone...or veer...or whatever. That always worked and I don't know why we ever had to get away from it. Walkoviak might have had more of a clue than a lot of people gave him credit for. That offense worked no matter who ran it. With the spread, if you don't have a "special" player at QB, you're pretty much handicapped...
