I don't know if its "harder", but people sure do notice a lot more when you don't. Everyone feels the pressure, especially the athletes. I know Anahuac has a few kids that are very talented, and that always gives a team a "puncher's chance" for that KO. I still think Hardin is just too much for the Panthers, but I sure know what you mean, Bleacher Bum.

Yep, Oilers ya'll bring your A game and you'll be fine. Show what you can do on the field. As for the smack talk, leave that to us, the fans. This is, of course, the topic of this thread is game predicitons and so, yeah, its smack talk central! Just to let everyone know this is all in good fun. I, along with the majority of West Hardin players and fans have the utmost respect for the Rebels as we do for all of our opponents. Thank God for this competitive spirit and the love and confidence we have in our alma maters, and most of all, Thank God for them Texas Friday Night Lights.

Daisetta big. High Island doesn't have the ahtleticism to run with HD. I know this isn't a track meet, but when you are this outmanned, it does matter that you're facing the #2 1A track team in TX. Hope the Cards play hard, though. Good luck to both teams!!

I suppose one bad apple spoils a bunch. I have never played against a football team who didn't have at least one kid who would try to grab you under a dog pile. I can remember Evadale, specifically having them. Kountze too. We didn't say the rebels were dirty, or without class, even if we lost. I honestly saw no kick, but I completely agree with you, if it really happenned and you have proof, then there should be disciplinary actions. But what I gather from Kountze, is that it was planned to take the "wrecking machine" out by an illegal hit in the side of the knee and to kick him while he was down as it was impossible to win with him in the game. And it was in this action that sent such disarray throughout Kountze Texas, they couldn't begin to concentrate on the game at hand, or possibly continue playing to their full potential. This, of course was the chief cause and leading factor in the Lion's demise. That being said, Kountze has a great football team and good luck this Friday against Buna, you're gonna need it. Go Lions! The worst I've ever observed had to be Joe Theisman on Monday night. Experience, after the first few games with a twisted ankle, I started having knee problems while running the ball, and trying to cut. Turns out it was a fracture in my patella. I was warming up before the game, and I had just finished throwing to my receivers on some routes, so I started taking a few snaps and punting. On about the 3rd punt, as my foot made contact with the ball, it sounded like a broom stick snapped in half. My patella (knee cap) had snapped into, and the half of it that was attached to my quadricep tendon was pulled up into the top of my thigh and my muscle balled up above it. My leg looked deformed with a soft ball where my knee cap had been with a thin place between that and my bulky, upper thigh where my quad was balled up. Ouch. :'(

Newton is good. They always are, but automatically considering them elite is a bit smug. Marlin don't think so ;D. This year, don't count your chickens before they hatch. Buna is on the same level as Newton. ..... yeah, I said it. They are for real. That being said, I'll take Buna in this one 35-7. Kountze has a lot of heart, but they had better bring their A-game and their 4 leaf clover if they want to stay in this one.

Yeah, he's probably talking confidence into his self. He knows Evadale didn't wipe up the floor with Kountze, ...or Legacy for that matter.

We are the only ones worrying about this. The coach at WH isn't. If he was, he wouldn't have scheduled a JV team before a bye week and then district. To the fans he had everything to lose (u lost to a JV!!) and nothing to gain (u beat a JV!!). But he had his reasons for this (warm up) game before district. Kelly's JV won, probably just their eighth grade really, or maybe their seventh, but great job on that, nontheless. Evadale should be a good game and H-D also, but ya'll sure didn't bring their A-game to Kountze. Hope a different team shows up against WH, if not you'll get spanked by a team that got beat by a beefed up JV. The smack talk starts now. And after the district race, we get to hear the whining. :-*

What do ya' think Scooter? Should it be 40% Kelly JV 32 West Hardin 22? By no means is it cheating to move varsity players down to JV, but it certainly changes perspective. If not, my hat's off to a 1-4 JV team. I mean.. 2-4. Regardless, congrats Kelly (whoever played) on the win. WH, the next ones count boys! Put this one behind you.
