1. No way!!They have10 or 11 consecutive NCAA tourney appearances. The early injuries doomed this club because they lost their leadership.Texas had some super individual players but need 5 balls because they never learned to play together.
2. Nothing is unethical if the official doesn't catch it  ;) ;)I personally know the master of the technique and a real good free throw shooter  ;D ;D
3. I didn't realize until the first Silsbee/HJ game how good a player DC Stallworth is.He is the real deal and a huge head start for next years Tigers. The vote between Avory and Jacolby had to a close one,two different kind of defenders and both very deserving.Turner is as quick as any defender I've seen in this area.
4. It is extremely tough to get to Austin and even harder to return. Both clubs return quality players but both have huge holes to fill.Spurger will have a tough time replacing the scoring of Blanlenship but have a couple of quality players to build around and a young coach they believe in so don't bet against them.In Silsbee DC Stallworth will be in the running for POY so they will be right at the top of the regional heap.
5. Shooting is the one phase of the game that there is no substitute for.Teams that have good inside games better develope an outside shooting game or good defensive clubs will send you packing.Too often you see great shooting clubs in Austin get beat because they play not to lose instead of shooting the ball until it's to late.
6. Doesn't that make 3 years in a row?? They are always one of the most fundamental teams out there.
7. Ponder is probably the most consistantly underated team in the state. They always do the little fundamental things great and that wins them a lot of ballgames.
8. No disrespect intended to this years seniors because there were some good high school players but I don't know if there are any college players locally this year.
9. I don't think it is Yates responsibility to go in to a game worrying about not beating a club to bad. It's the oppositions  job to be prepared to play.I enjoy watching ESPN but I don't think it's their job to tell us what to think.
10. Congrats Tigers on a great season. This group went alot further than most folks expected and have a heck of a group to build on for next year.DC could easily be the top player in the area next year.
11. A HUGE congratulations on your season from the folks in Warren. The loss will sting for awhile but when you have time to reflect you will realize what a special season you have had.I have had the opportunity to watch Daniel Blankenship play over there for as long as I can remember and he is a model of what you want a player to be.The Pirates have a great young coach and the cupboard is far from bare,we will hear a lot more from this bunch next year.Congrat guys, you were a lot of fun to watch.
12.
I think it would be much easier if somehow someway they took parents out of coaching little dribblers. I think it causes way too many problems. Everyone has become a coach and knows more than a coach. I would never basketball around here so I tip my hat to any coach who does and puts up with what they have to put up with.
I don't know if taking the parents out of little dribblers is the answer because little dribblers and varsity ball are 2 completely different worlds.Summer league ball is a good way to get kids off the play station and working out but it's not the end all in building a team.I don't know Coach Buchanan but I know Woodville didn't play in many final fours before he got there. You don't win 600 games at any varsity level without knowing the game.
13. I watched them yesterday and while they are young they will be better than they were last year and will turn some heads next year.I don't know if there are any powerhouses in the district this year.
14.
Coach Peterson is a good coach and a classy guy. Hard to believe the toss was justified.
He was as frustrated as anyone I've ever seen at a regional tournament. You could see this one coming several minutes before it happened.
15.
Hopefully back to coaching school!! H :o
I just gotta ask, did he forget how to coach after his 600th win or before.Give me a break, a guy doesn't win 600 games and not know how to coach.Coaches can do a lot of things but sometimes they can't stop players from overlooking opponents. The percentages I heard the Lady Eagles shot against Hardin is on the players not the coach. They were already warming up for the regional final against EC.
16. I haven't been to 39 in a row but I've been to enough to know once you get there anything can happen and anyone can win.Anyone that has never been to the tournament in Austin needs to take a 3 day road trip.It is an unreal experience.
17. The Tiger faithful should fill up the parking lot. These kids deserve every pat on the back they get.A very small percentage of players ever get the chance to play in the state tourney and it is an experience they will never forget.Good luck Tigers
18.

DUANE JOUBERT is there coach right?
yeah until they announce the new coach at another high school down the road
Duane will be successful wherever he coaches.I hope he stays in Kountze because I enjoy watching how he developes his players down there. The players Kountze have returning will keep the ball in their hand all summer and will look like a seasoned club by the time district rolls around next year.If Duane does go to one of the bigger schools down the road their days of scoring 29 to 39 points a game will be a distant memory.
19. You may need to get there tomorrow to get a place to stand  ;D ;D
20. Silsbee has all the tools to win it all this year. They have size, speed and shooters.I think the key will be the players you don't hear alot about.#3,I believe his name is Gaines should have an opportunity to be a difference maker.Stallworth should also pose some mismatch problems for whoever they face.
21. I had the opportunity to watch HJ 8 TO 10 times this year and realized these are the type kids you build successful programs with. They all know their role and accept it without question. Some I have known for several years and some I had never met but found myself yelling for them because of the way they played the game.Turner is the quickest defensive player I've ever seen and was a joy to watch.I didn't think Ricossa would play again after he went down against Kountze but he proved me wrong. If I were putting a team together Ricossa would be one of my first picks.Congrats to all the senior hawks on a super run.
22. Now the whole state knows what we here in SeTexas have known for years. There isn't a better playoff official at any level.I have had the opportunity to watch you officiate game of all magnitudes over the years and I can honestly say you are simply one of the best I've ever seen.Congrats on a well deserved honor.
23. Spurgers game starts with being completely unselfish. The have a combination that makes them extremely dangerous, a post player who can come out away from the basket and play ,a very good long ball shooter and a PG that can get them the ball and does. It's unheard of to have 2 D1 atheletes on the same 1-a club but I would'nt bet against the Pirates.Coach Issacs will have them prepared and I'll pik them by 4. Spurger-66 Yuga-62
24.

That's the part I don't understand. These kids play against each other so long it looks like they would support each other once a club is eliminated. One of the most important lessons you learn from high school sports should be to respect your opponent no matter how bad you want to beat them.
Look at it this way Kountze did not knock EC out of the playoffs. But NW did, so it look better if the team that beat you goes on to win State. at least then you can say you got beat by the Statechamps
That's the difference in changing schools so often, you never develope the rivalry or the respect for the other teams and players in your district.I wish your son the best of luck in his senior season but it is extremely tough to change schools 3 years in a row and be successful at any of them.
