  1. Looking at this break down I wouldn’t be able to tell who won the game?? Sears did a masterful job of breaking the defense down and dishing the ball where it needed to go. He could penetrate the defense at will and did when he needed to. HF doesn’t have the go to guy that steps up and demands the basketball with the game on the line. #2 was the closest player I saw to anyone doing this. Everyone has a different opinion I guess but I personally would have put #5 on the block and pounded the basketball in to him. I don’t the kids name but #3 from HJ was the most impressive defender I saw last night. Early foul trouble on Brown kept him on the bench for extended periods of time and kept the game closer than it would have been otherwise.
  2. LCM, Orangefield and WOS will all be pretty evenly matched clubs with the Raiders.
  3. I think you had the script lol. This break down was spot on.
  4. HJ led by 5 at the end of the 1st. They went up by 7 at the half but came out cold to start the 3rd and HF went on a 10-2 run . Foul trouble to Brown hurt the Hawks late in the first half . Davis hit two deep 3’s and a little floater he was fouled on to put the Hawks back up by 9. Sears sure looked like the best player on the floor tonight. I was also impressed with #3 for the Hawks tonight. He scored some big buckets in the first half and played super defensively. For the Horns I believe it was #2 who was strong on the defensive end and #5 was solid as well. #23 played big in spurts and has the tools. Good win for the Hawks
  5. That’s sure close to a 30 point “ W” lol
  6. HJ 68 HF. 58 21 seconds left
  7. HJ. 59 HF 51. 2:56 left in the 4 th
  8. Never said my basketball knowledge was above the terrible level. On their worst day Orangefield should be 20 points better than Liberty. All that said my observation is strictly based on matchups. Silsbee’s pressure defense is going to be a problem. If the Bobcats can break the press and hit the 3 then they could keep it under 20. That’s a tall order.
  9. I didn’t see Liberty playing within 2 either but they did.
  10. Are the under levels playing? Why the 5:30 start ?
  11. This one is going to get ugly . Matchup nightmare for the Bobcats
  12. It was posted last night that it was but the post has been removed
  13. Was the cancellation Covid related ?
  14. This is spot on. I don’t see any Hancock, Powell , Busby type players in the pipeline. They will be very good as the get a little age on em .
  15. I think we all get caught up in records which can be very misleading in most cases. My biggest surprise has been EC. I thought they’d be down after the players they lost to graduation. Silsbee was expected to be really good and they are holding up well to a tough schedule. BU is just on a different level than everyone else locally. If the 3 ball is falling Kountze is going to be a tough out. HJ has been impressive in pre district with a couple of wins over Nederland and a W against Barbers Hill.
  16. EC , Kountze, Anahuac and Woodville would certainly be my picks
  17. Anyone got a run down of the scores in this tournament?
  18. Lufkin beat HJ in a close game a couple weeks ago.
  19. Some solid clubs in this tournament for sure
  20. What does Diboll look like? They usually have some kids that can go🏀
  21. Nothing sends you flying up the rankings quite like losses to Nederland-Humble -Barbers Hill and single possession wins against power houses like WOS and Orangefield 🤦‍♂️
  22. This district is gonna be fun for sure. HF lost to Barbers Hill tonight and Huffman beat LCM. I’ve said it since last summer whoever can steal a game on the road will win this district. Right now the Longhorns seem to be struggling but that can change quick
