I've been going to EC for years to watch my sons play,I'll miss walking in the old gym as a visitor.I saw all I needed to see on the volleyball court to make my prediction.EC wins 23aa this year and will play Woodville very tough in the regional playoffs.

HJ will be fine.I was very impressed last year with the freshman they moved up for the playoffs.I don't know her name but she stepped in and contributed in some crucial playoff settings.You can't teach some of the things this kid can do,it's just the IT factor and she has it.They also return a good little shooter and a very good post player.They will be fun to watch.

Sky, I don't know exactly what happened here but I know the coaches told the folks that Hardin had forfeited before we left the gym Tuesday.The Warren girls played well tonite and deserved the seed.Congrats girls on a great season.

I've seen more than my share of "real girls" hoop but I'll take your invitation.I'm sure I'll see these girls early in the season, until then I 'll keep my opinions to myself.

If you're referring to the 74 Huntington team they could play with any of todays clubs.I got the opportunity to play against them and they were something special.There were alot of good clubs years back that didn't advance due to the 1 team per distict playoff format.The kids have so much more opportunity today to get in the gyms year around that they should be better.Fact is though the game hasn't changed,the teams that are successful now are the one that are taught fundamentals and discipline just like in the past.The old Lincoln,Silsbee and HJ clubs could more than hold there own in todays circles.

To say one team was trying to put points on the board and another one wasn't is just flat out crazy.I've never seen a high school team not try and put points on the board.The teams that Evadale has held scoreless aren't exactly offensive powerhouses.I think this will be a close game but I think it's finally the Dogs turn in the penthouse.Should be a really good small school ballgame.

First time I've ever said this but the Dogs win the district title this year.

This has to be a heart breaker for this group.I thought this was the year for an outright district title.Just goes to show you that you always have to bring your A game in high school athletics regaardless of your talent level.Hardin plays consistant ball and deserved this one.Looks like another seeding game on the horizon.

Come on folks, Hardin has played Kountze and Warren the last 2 weeks so they may not be getting better, it's the level of competition has gone down from EC and Anahuac.Buna will get the 3rd spot followed by the Hornets,Lions,Warriors and Pirates.

The best 3 point shooter in this district is Blankenship from Spurger.

Warren will play hard but are a little small upfront.I was impressed with th freshman QB last week and their running backs can break it if you give them a seam.That being said Hardin wins.

Been a long time since the bulldogs beat the bobcats.Congrats Bulldogs.

I picked the Hornets by 2 touchdowns but this was a whippin.

Both clubs played hard tonight and the ball game was about as even as you can get.Nice to see both clubs still playing hard after a tough season.Great pre game tribute to 2 fine young men lost in tragic accidents last spring.Congrats Warriors.

No doubt those are all very good clubs and deserve to be ranked.Don't go strictly by records when evaluating a club.I haven't seen any of those clubs this year so I couldn't make a informed prediction on a playoff game.I can say the left handed girl from Warren is solid as any I've seen this year.You add Hatton,Brent and Foster on the net and you have a solid group of hitters.Lewis ,Burns and Kelly handle the defense on the back very well and are probably underated.These kids seem to play well together so I like there chances but we all know you have to get some breaks along the way to make it out of this region.

I don't think Kountze is as good defensively as they were last year and Villamez was averaging 11 yards a carry.That's not a good combination.

We're on the same page I think.I'm just saying the guy might not be a bad coach and could be a good fit somewhere else,it just may not work for him in Kountze.Nothing wrong with that but somewhere there is a hungry guy from an established program that could field a playoff team in Kountze.

Come on folks lets keep it real.Hardin isn't a bad team they just had the misfortune of playing the best 2 teams in the district back to back.They get the game at home due to field conditions so that will help them.Kountze has won 2 district games but let's face it ,they didn't beat the Patriots and Colts.If Villamez is healthy Hardin controls the ball and wins 28-14.
