  1. Is dist. 25a weak, or all the team about the same.Every game is real close. ;D ;D ;D ;D Theres not a layup difference in the 1-6 spot. This tiebreaker might get interesting.
  2. WHSALUM HAVE YOU SEEN US PLAY THIS YEAR?????? JUST WONDERING LOL CUZ YOUR PULLING FOR US HEHE ;D JUST A FRIENDLY QUESTION No ghost I haven't seen Sabine Pass this year.I wasn't really pulling for anyone just making a prediction after seeing Evadale several times.I don't think the Rebels will win many on the road but the way all 6 teams are playing no one may win many on the road. There isn't much difference in the top team and the bottom one in this district. That will make for some good district games but probably a short playoff run.Good luck to all the 25-A clubs the rest of the way.
  3. I've seen Evadale play 3 times this year and I don't see them beating Sabine Pass. They won 2 district games at home against 2 teams that aren't real good.I don't think the Rebels make the playoffs.
  4. The folks in the triangle wont have to be real good because WH doesn't have any scoring threats other than Copeland. There are lots of ways to get perimeter shots, especially from the baseline against a 1-3-1.Copeland's strength is the long ball.A good shooter will get folks out of a zone pretty quick.
  5. Evadales press????? Please, Sabine Pass wins at home by 15.
  6. Basketball definitely takes more skill but football gives you something to watch until basketball season starts ;D ;D ;D
  7. hE WILL SHOOT YOU OUT OF 2-3 or a 1-3-1.Some folks are successful with a box and one or a triangle and 2.If he had much help everyone else would be playing for second. The kid has good range and can take it to the hole and shoots free throws well.
  8. I have seen Copeland play alot over the years and he plays against defenses designed to stop him every week and consistantly beats the defense. He doesn't have alot of help so the Oilers go as he goes. This district isn't real deep this year in quality players and Copeland is hands down the best 25-A has to offer. In time the Whittacre kid will be a game changer and Elliott from HD can do it now when the shots are falling behind the arc.I haven't seen any McKinney,Phillip Whittacre or JT Sheffield type players this year other than Copeland.JMO
  9. This is simple, change the 2nd letter from HF to HJ,you gotta a 20 win season right off the bat ;D ;D ;D
  10. Lamar isn't even in the same league as the guys they played tonight. They were outclassed and looked intimidated from the opening tip.
  11. 1-10 Copeland The rest of these guys are pretty good role players but Copeland is in a league of his own in this district.Elliott from HD is probably the closes to him when it comes to being a game changer.
  12. Thats a stretch.Dville may take 3rd but they aren't close to Kountze or Anahuac.I gotta agree with CATMAN about New Waverly they and Newton both are the favorites in this end of the region.
  13. This probably wasn't a surprise to the Pirates,Anahuac is the real deal.D-Ville is probably still the dark horse for the 3rd playoff spot if they play the way they are capable of playing. They should match up good against EC and that will start to clear up the playoff picture.
  14. Now that's scary : : : There's wisdom in what CATMAN spoke of early in the week. You always gotta look out for the next one ;) That the way it goes in WH That is a bunch off crap to call a game that way.If wh play all there game @ home they would state every year. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I've seen everyone in this district except Sabine Pass and one thing is for sure. All these teams are pretty close talent wise. But I haven't seen a real good club yet.Maybe someone will step up before the playoff rounds start.
  15. I was impressed with the crowd tonight.Very good turnout for a girls game. Also you parents need to take bow because you had the media there in full force tonight.Got to see a nice hilight clip on Channel 6 news at 10.
  16. Now that's scary : : : There's wisdom in what CATMAN spoke of early in the week. You always gotta look out for the next one ;)
  17. I thought the game changed on a defensive adjustment in the second quarter when Fontenot picked up Orangefields big girl down low.HJ should be proud of themselves tonight, this was a total team win.I thought I saw Poppabear cringe when the free throw rimmed out with 9 seconds left to seal the bet.No doubt about who the better team was tonight.Congrats Lady Hawks.
  18. I hate to say it but I think baseball25 is probably closer than CATMAN.Warren has averaged 31 points a gameover the last several games, they will have to double that to be respectable in this one.
  19. My bad I misread the post I thought the Spurger coach got 2 techs.
  20. Don't know him real well but I've seen him win alot of ballgames with less talent than the folks he was playing. It would be a mistake for anyone to overlook HD just because the big man is out ;)
  21. Spurger would be the favorite at home even if HD had the big guy.Don't underestimate a Coach Henry coached team he will have them ready.Spurger wins by 6. Spurger-66 HD-60
  22. Normally they would be co-champs and have a playoff for seeding in the playoffs.I don't think either team goes undefeated the rest of the way.Just so the guys from SP know I'm not from Spurger, just watch a lot of basketball and comment on the teams I see.How much time was left when the Spurger coach was ejected and who took his place ?????
  23. Evidently I have the wrong players that I thought were starting for Spurger.I thought Blankenship was the old dog in this pack along with 4 sophomores starting. How many of the SP starters are seniors? The young guys for Spurger haven't been in many big game situations,Whittacre got some minutes last year as did Blankenship in the big games but thats about it.The 5 starters you listed for SP you said had 2 years of varsity experience if thats true they have to be at least juniors(I think several are seniors).I still like Spurgers chances of winning the district the next 2 years and I think they will finish ahead of SP this year.
  24. #10 is a sophomore and is a very solid player for his age. There is no substitute for experience and the Pirates are getting that now.If anyone in this district wants a shot at the district crown besides Spurger they better take it this year because this group will be hard to beat as they get a little older.Since HD has lost their big guy Spurger has to be the favorite to win the district. They just took a much more experienced SP team to OT on the road. That's not a good sign for the Sharks.
  25. No, I don't disagree at all.Like I said it's numbers. If the guys and girls played back to back at the same location they would have the same officials thus solving that problem. The only down side to that is the underclass or JV programs would suffer. When the officials start their training they sign up according to whether they want to do boys, girls or both. Some just don't want to call girls games.I wish I knew the answer to the coverage issue but I'm not sure there is one.I watch a lot of boys and girls games and both can be exciting.
