He isn't from Spurger I don't think.I was just curious how he could be a Warren player and be at Spurger and Jasper on the same night at the same time???If I had to guess I'd say a Warren student with Spurger ties,nothing wrong with that.It looks like he supports both clubs.Good luck to yall Tuesday in Goodrich.

This group is gonna be very competetive once the district season starts and they are still young with only 2 seniors on this years club.They expect to win regardless of who they play and thats a dangerous attribute in a young club.They also have 2 ladies on the bench that know how to work a game.Good luck girls on the rest of the season.

I think this one will be a little closer than some of the predictions.BC will be better this year simply because the have everyone back.Not sure how they will match up with the big guy for Deweyville,that will be the key.It's being played at BC but they usually don't have a big support for the basketball team so that advantage is not real big.I sat Dville by 4. Spurger is going to have a solid club this year but Goodrich is just about impossible to beat at home.I think Goodrich wins this one in a pretty close game.This game really helps Spurger prepare for the district battle with BS. Goodrich-76 Spurger-68

GREAT!!!!! He had 19 pts and 4 Rebs friday against Jasper.He was playing the 5 and scored real good on the block.Matt is playing a whole lot more aggressive right now than he did last year,and we know how he can shoot it.

They have some good clubs coming to there tourney in Dec.They have elevated there program to the point where a lot of local clubs just can't compete with them,thats not there fault.Back to the topic,HJ by 30.

Woden is always well coached and they don't play football so they will be little further along than most of the 2-a schools.I think they graduated all 5 starters off last years club so I pick our neighbors from Big Sandy by 8. Big Sandy-70 Woden-62

I still think Kountze is the favorite at home.The only thing I disagree with Dwag52 on is the key piece to the puzzle.In my opinion the lions success will depend on Domingo Smith and Dontae Barnes.When they are successful this year it will be because of the defensive pressure,scoring in transition.They have never relied on a half court game.Before everyone burys them remember Smith and Barnes were playing football a week ago.They will be fine and they are just about impossible to beat in Kountze.

Anyone looking for an off night better not look at 24aa this year ,it's gonna be pretty solid.

Before the game they said they had 3 starters out.Thats still quite a few when you consider the caliber players they were missing.Warren has always played Jasper in the off season and usually the games are very close.This was very good effort for the guys who have been working as a team for the 3 days,they will continue to improve as they get more familiar with there system.I was very impressed with Young,Riley and Huelett who turned in valuable minutes after Sims,Swinney and Mcbee got in foul trouble.Team shot 50% from behind the arc,that will keep ya in a lot of ballgames.

Congrats WH on a good year.Can't believe anyone would question Tyler Copeland, good kid who plays with everyting he has regardless of the sport.Ya'll are extremely lucky to have the young man.No disgrace in losing to WS they got a pretty solid club.Great season for the Oilers.

Bridge City was extremely young last year,they will be much improved because they have everyone back.Lumberton on the other hand is missing there best player.Johnathan Ward starts on the defense for the Raider football team and he is one of the better players in SETEXAS on the basketball floor.Everything the raiders do goes thru him.Not sure who wins it if Lumberton has him but it's a lot closer than this.BC will not be the laughing stock they were last year,they will compete every night.

Congrats Deweyville on the "W".I think both clubs are shooting for a little more than the 3rd playoff spot.I sure hope so,both are loaded with seniors so the goals should be high.Good luck Pirates.

The HJ LADY HAWKS battled back from a 22 point first half deficit to force overtime and defeat Klein Collins this afternoon in the McDonalds Invitational in Pasedena.This keeps there record perfect on the season.Cograts Ladies on the win and good luck tomorrow in round 3.

I will be yelling for 24aa but I am afraid 23aa wins all 3 of these game.Some real matchup problems for the 24aa clubs in each game.If Tramain can go full out EC has a shot but Corrigan is very fast also.Newton-Buna strength against strength and the eagles are stronger.Hemphill plays the power game and the Hornets struggle against that kind of offense.Hope the 24aa guys prove me wrong.good luck to all 3.

HJ Lady Hawks-67 Tomball-62 Double O/T Lady Hawks improve to 7-0 with the victory today.Clutch free throw shooting lifted the ladies to the win as they went 15-21 from the line.Next up Klein Collins tomorrow afternoon.

Might want to look at your top 2 clubs.HJ won the meeting between the 2 last week by 9 and have started the season 5-0 against some very good 4a and 5-a clubs.

I like the way you think BUC2010,keep on thinking that.While I don't put much stock in summer leauge games Warren had already played Silsbee and Lumberton in a 2 hour period when they played Kountze at the Silsbee tourney(with 6 players).Warren and Kountze played 1 time this summer when both clubs had there 5 starters and Kountze won that game in OT.Kountze will be very good this year and EC will go as far as Tramain takes them.As far as Warren they could easily develop into a contender,they always play EC very tough.

Theres no disgrace in losing to HJ.They are the best small school team in the area right now.That being said I don't think there are many 2-a clubs that could have beaten the Lions last Thursday in Sour Lake.Both these teams are gonna be OK.

The kids that started yesterday haven't been on the court together since last summer.This was strictly an opportunity for them to get on the court,they had absolutely no practice time so the offense and defense were taught between quarters.Throw in the fact Sims has had a severe case of the flu for the past week and you get the end result.The kids played Woodville well and won ,of course Woodville was in the same boat as Warren finishing the football season the night before.The 2 biggest areas Warren will have to correct will be handling the press and getting the ball in the shooters hands.Sims shot the ball 2 times in 2 quarters against Spurger hitting 1- 3 and missing 1.He did shoot it pretty well against Wdvl,scoring 12 in 2 quarters.Matt simply needs the ball ,when they get it to him he will score.Don't put a whole lot in this I don't think this is the same club you'll see in a couple of weeks.
