It will depend on how they do early.If they win they will draw a crowd.It will be extremely hard for them to win if they play the same schedule they did last year.

Stephen will get some minutes no doubt.He has all the tools.I don't know how they do it but Todd, Clay and the other guy find a way to get the manager some playing time.HJ is gonna be deep this year,thats gonna be there strength.They will be a lot of fun to watch.

Warren has 4 starters back off last years club and 7 of the top 8 returning.Kinney Granger and Jimmy Rawls were the 2 seniors on last years club.This years team strength will definitely be there ability to shoot the ball and there size.Paul Sims and Matt Andrews are arguably 2 of the best shooters in SE Texas.Travis Mcbee also shot lights out this summer.Add Caleb Swinney and Brent Nash and you have a pretty good club.They will also be pretty deep this year with Young,Riley,Huelett,Jennings and Swanson all getting considerable playing time.As a team the first 5 kids on this list shot 75% from the free throw line last year so that should also be a strength.They will be well coached by Cris Carter who has 2 trips to Austin,1 title and over 500 victories.Everyone tells them they can't compete but I'm not sure.Thats what makes basketball so much fun,throw it up and see what happens.

You gotta feel for Tyler.He along with the big kid from Big Sandy are definitely the best 2 players in this district.He had the luxury last year of being able to come off the screens and shoot the 3,unfortunately this year he will have to get the ball down the floor,set the offense and then try to score.Thats a pretty tall order when the defense knows you are the only scoring threat.You are right about finishing 4th though Copeland is good enough to beat HI,SP and Evadale with the JV boys helping him.I hope the Oilers do well though they seem like pretty good kids,if they can get fan support like they had last year that will be a tremendous help.Good luck to all the teams in this district.

Very good ballclub taking shape in Winnie.Thomas is the best ballplayer in 24aa and possibly the best 2a guard in the state.McDonald and Raymond will round out a very good inside out game.The key to them will be filling the vacancies left by Leday and Guillory.Hank always has them ready so he will have them running on all cylinders by the time district starts.There only shortcoming is they will be playing football while the rest of the district is starting to work out the basketball kinks.They should be the district favorite going in to the season.

No doubt Kountze and EC will be good,but better than last year?Kountze has 4 kids playing college ball off last years club so they will be hard pressed to be better.They will be well coached and play hard as will EC and Warren.I don't think anyone handles Tramain,he's going to get his,you just have to take care of the ball and hope someone else doesn't light you up as Preston would do on occasion.Warren and EC usually match up pretty well and have some close games.EC won by 19 last year at home and by 10 at Warren. EC holds a 3-2 advantage in the series over the past 3 years so they would probably have the edge but the gap is not as wide as some folks think.Hardin and DVille will also have big guys who could create some matchup problems if there guards take care of the ball.I may be dead wrong but I think this district is gonna be close and I saw all these teams play last year and alot this summer.

Did you ever watch the girl from Goodrich, she would have been exciting no matter how many A'S you had.

Lumberton will probably be in the football playoffs.If they are Ward won't be on the court and he will be the heart of the Lumberton club.Not sure the Raiders will want to play this game if they don't have the football players.

Gotta disagree about the distant 3rd.The Warren kids played a lot of ball this summer and played some real good competition.They will have a ton of seniors this year and will shoot it as well as anyone in this district.They are going to match up well with EC and Kountze so you may not want to overlook them.Hardin will return Marsh and Nolan that will help them.DVille will be solid if Bland stays healthy and Anahuac has a ton of athletes and a good new coach.Anyone who takes a game in this district for granted may be in for a surprise.

This basketball district is gonna be closer than the football side.There will be 6 teams capable of beating each other on any given night.Tramain is a monster but EC will miss Guillory and Leday.Thomas makes everyone around him better though so they gotta be the favorite.

I have said this before ,Kountze will be good but there strength will be there guards Domingo and Dontae will be the driving force behind the press.Devin has all the talent in the world but there are several kids down there that can play.

Shannon Robinson is a top 5 player.Also Brooks Ybarra from Barbers Hill needs to be way up on this list.Several folks on this list who haven't started a game yet.Jarvis Bernard is definitely to low.There are definitely some good players on this list top to bottom.

No one even plays the Panthers close in this district.

He probably won't make up his mind until bball is over.I hope he does, he could help the pitching staff.He was leaning toward playing last year but there was some conflicts with basketball I think.

Heard Burrell is out , Kbvl wins this one by a couple TD'S.

Kountze is improving but no playoff berth this year.They could definitely beat Deweyville if they don't turn the ball over.The playoff clubs this year in 24aa are EC,Hardin and Buna.The next 4 places are a coin toss,whoever gets a break or avoids a turnover gets 4th.Kountze beat Warren by 1 so it wasn't like they dominated them.I support 24aa all the way but our neighbors to the north are pretty good.Newton,CC and Woodville are all tough so our guys better be ready for the playoffs.

Warren will have to score on the pass to win this one,they have really struggled all year trying to run the ball.The last 2 weeks they ran 40 plus times for less than 100 yards,you won't win many like that.Realistically both these clubs playoff hopes left with Esway and Williams.This is a toss up but Warren is at home so I'll pick them by 7. Warren-20 Deweyville-13

I gotta say Hardin.They went from being just plain bad to a pretty dog gone team in 1 season.They have the type club that can go a couple of rounds in the playoffs because they pass it real well.Lumberton gets a vote also.Kountze wasn't that bad last year but they are definitely improved.Unfortunately for the Lions they finish 4th in 24aa.

Tramain Thomas from EC will definitely be on the list.

Don't be led to believe this is the same Hardin team you saw last year.This one is gonna be a dandy.

Hardin gets the edge in speed and Buna is a little more physical.I think the game is in Buna so that should help the Coogs although Hardin really follows there club well.Will be close but never bet against speed at the high school level. Hardin-35 Buna-28

Lord did EC return 3 int's for TD'S ? That would be tough to overcome.

Justin Daws made the respectable,since he graduated 2 years ago they just haven't had a lot of talent.While coaching makes a big difference it helps to have some players.They are in a pretty good district so it looks like another long year for the rebels.
