EC and Kountze were co-champs in 24aa last year with EC winning the game to determine playoff seeding.From what I saw at the drum the team that won the regional final would have been the state champ,regardless of which one it was.

Maybe you can call me a newcomer at this but I've been around the game about 50 years.I watched HJ play at least 15 games this summer.I watched Silsbee play at least a dozen.I know you can't read my lips so I'll type it out for you setxreporter or ST4life.If you think HJ is a slow bunch you are in for a surprise.They are as quick to the ball as any club I've seen in years(I hate to admit but I've seen lots of em).I like both clubs ,visited with Coach Williams alot this summer and have gotten to know alot of the HJ kids.Both teams full of great young men.This is gonna be a war but you won't walk the ball up the floor on hawks or scare them with your press.HJ wins the district-Silsbee will play them tough,they always do.And speed never hurts.

The worst one I ever saw was at EC back in 1974.Good friend of mine,tight end , caught a pass over the middle and planted his leg to cut.Was hit from the side and the leg shattered.He got up, I guess in shock, and his foot was pointed the wrong way.Still makes me sick to think about it.

I don't know what you consider speed but Young and Nash from Warren are pretty dog gone fast.

I don't think Kountzes defense is rated.They aren't bad but are nowhere near the best in the district.I would have to with EC as the best overall.When Warren has there starters on the field they are a close second.

EC is the returning champ and has tons of speed on both sides of the ball.Warren has a tremendous defense but the won't overcome the hole the offense puts them in.The Bucs win this one ,28-6 is about right.

After reading your post on HJ and now this one I gotta ask.Have you ever watched a high school basketball game in SE Texas??

Stelly gained over a hundred yards on a pretty good run defense.He is a good player.The hornets made great adjustments and took what the defense gave them.The difference in the ball game was halftime adjustments Hardin made them Warren didn't.Depending on what the defense keys on Hardin has several players that can beat you.

Kountze hung 35 on Anahuac so this one isnt even close.Hardin wins this one going away.

Anything can happen at the drum.I thought Martins Mill had it won last year but a careless cross court pass with about 4 seconds left made for a long trip home for them.One things for sure whoever wins this region will definitely be capable of winning it all.

I usually agree with your post but your way off base here.I saw both these teams play at least 6 times each this summer and HJ will be the real deal.burrell is a great kid and a good player but there are several kids on this club that are as quick or quicker than he is.He will be a big part of there team but won't be there best player.If you get a chance check them out in the preseason I think you will be surprised.

Duane is a great leader but I think he's used all his elgibility.There are alot of kids on the Kountze squad who are good players that didn't get much playing time last year.They will have to sreally step it up to get back to Austin.Arp,EC and several more from the upper end of the region are returning alot of players.

I think this will be about right.

Got to watch em both alot this summer.They won't outrun HJ.

Don't count Kountze out.They will have several players that will step up but there success will depend on there guards not Bray.While he has the most potential of anyone on Kountzes team the senior leadership will determine how far Kountze goes.EC will have a couple of holes to fill with the loss of Guillory and Leday.Tramain will definitely be the MAN in the district.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but HJ wins this district with Silsbee going 2nd and Jasper 3rd.

Good question , he beat a better Kountze team twice last year.He's gotta be on the list.setxreporter if you've never heard of Carter you gotta get out more.He has over 500 wins and a couple of state trips.

Warren beat Woodville tonight 3-2 to throw 23-aa into a tie.I think both clubs are 5-1.

EC wins this one if they don't turn it over.If they give it up 4 times they will be in trouble.

Warren wins this one 3-2.Had 1 big hitter missing but a great game by the lady warriors.

I said they will think its the kids.Warren will be pretty good but you won't hear Andrews or Sims on here bragging.Matt is definitely improving his game and can flat out shoot the ball.I'm ready for the season.

Lord don't get this started again.The D-Ville coach will think its the kids posting and its not.Deweyville will be much improved this year and everyone has a chance,thats why they start the games 0-0.
