  1. Definitely will be a low scoring ballgame.Warrens defense plays really well when the offense doesnt turn the ball over.Kountze is a much improved club over last year and they are playing at home.As much as I would like to see these clubs in the playoff picture I'm not sure they will be.This game is to close to call.so I'm gonna be a homer. Warren-12 Kountze-7
  2. Buna-35 Anahuac-12 The better teams start coming to the top of the pack now.
  3. October 24th
  4. Kountze and EC will both have good clubs this year but I don't know if they will have the depth or experience to make it to the drum. The Lions will start 4 new players while EC will have to replace 2 big pieces of that puzzle.Thomas may be the best guard in 2-a but it sure was nice when he could dish it to Guillory.Leday was also underated on the defensive end.Arp and several more clubs on the upper end of region 3 may have the edge this year.I hope not but they got some kids up that way that can play.
  5. McBee threw the pass in the 1st quarter that was dropped, would have been an easy 6.I think he also threw the long pass for the score.Colt is doing a good job when he has time, but his number is #7.Travis Mcbee is #14 and Young is #12.Way to many mistakes tonight to even have a shot at winning. At least 5 turnovers, penalties in crucial situations and dropped passes.Gotta give Groveton credit they made the adjustments at halftime and Warren didn't.
  6. Ozen will have a great shot, good coach and a wealth of talent returning. HJ will be a lot deeper overall and will have a good shot. They may miss the big guy inside more than we think, but they will definitely be a contender.Big Sandy has all the pieces to the puzzle, starting with a very good big man.I honestly thought West Hardin was as good as any of the 1A schools I saw at the drum last year.
  7. WH isn't a bad club but I gotta disagree with the could have easily beaten Warren quote. They scored once on a fumble return of about 65 yards when the Warren QB was breaking free in the open field.Thats a 14 point swing.Game wasn't as close as the final score. This one could be close if WH can control the ball on the ground and keep Kountzes speed on the sidelines.Gotta go with the Lions at their homecoming.
  8. Tramain Thomas-EC
  9. I hope the Warriors can pull it out but I'm not gonna bet the farm on the field goal.We are 0 for the last 2 seasons on extra points.Special teams overall have done pretty well but the PAT need some work.Easy to blame the coach but the guys gotta execute in the red zone. They were inside the 10 on 4 different possesions last week with a first down and didn't punch it in.The defense is playing good ball. The offense has to pass the ball to open up the running game. They did look good last week when they went to the shotgun. We need to find a way to get the ball in McBee's hands. He,Young and Nash have alot of speed. They could make Morris' carries easier if they spread the field a little, also gotta get Blackshear some more carries,he's looked good when they have gotten him the ball.Homecoming for the Warriors so they should be ready to play.Go Warriors.
  10. JCovan Brown and Tramain Thomas probably your top 2.Jarvis Bernard and Shannon Robinson from the 3-a district.
  11. Warren has 6 varsity players that play football.
  12. Whats everyone think. This one is usually close .Last year Groveton kicked a PAT with 1 second left to win by 1.Haven't seen them this year but I know they will be pretty good. Warren-18 Groveton-14
  13. Yeah I knew he hurt a shoulder wasn't sure how deep in the schedule it was when he hurt it.He's a pretty good blocker as well.He also has good speed for a big kid.
  14. Don't know who made all district but I can't believe Vance wasn't a first teamer. He is a legit D1 prospect and those guys don't recruit him just because he's a BUC.The kid can play.
  15. Deweyvilles jr high could beat Burkeville by 7. This ones not even close.
  16. Best tight end would be Vance McDonald froM EC.I would have to look at Daniel Marsh of Hardin to be the top wide receiver. He is fast, has good hands and can jump outta the stadium.
  17. Guillory was the one I was talking about that moved from Liberty last year.He will definitely help at the guard position(as if HJ needed help).I was also really impressed this summer with Fontenot, that kid is gonna be a factor.McNeely also stepped up and played really well as did a soph.I think his name was Jacolby but I'm not sure.I know this sounds crazy but as good as Ryan was I think this team as a group has the potential to be better.
  18. No doubt DP#1 this district will be to close to overlook anyone. There will be 6 clubs that are gonna be pretty darn good. The football district is gonna be great and the basketball just as good.Sure makes it fun for us fans.Good luck to all the 24aa clubs.
  19. Early in the year I thought HD would be a big favorite.I don't think it will be so one sided now.WH plays a very physical game and when playing teams there own size will be pretty effective. The WH vs HD game will be worth the price of admission.
  20. Warren and EC usually play pretty close ballgames.EC won big last year at Winnie(19) and then by 10 at Warren.Over the last 3 seasons they have played 5 times with EC holding the edge 3-2.Hank will have the Bucs ready to roll with Tramain and Vance, someoneone will have to step up for Preston and Eugene but they will. The Lions and Warren I think are a little closer than some folks think.I think the basketball district is gonna be closer than the football is and thats tight. Can't wait.
  21. They may not be real tall but Burrell and Fontenot can both play above the rim.
  22. My original post was a prediction Dville by 50+.I just added a comment that was my opinion.I was at Deweyville and Warren's game last year and didn't leave with a bit of resentment,it was a great high school game. The most evenly matched I saw all year.I wasn't downing the Dville players just happen to think they would have gotten a little more this year out of a tougher schedule.I go to a lot of high school games in all sports so I'm not pickin on the pirates just voicing a different opinion.Deweyville may very well get the 3rd playoff spot in 24aa I don't know.I do know that Justin Williams was in a class that doesn't have a real big roll call when it comes to running backs.
  23. OK dude I will post some facts.Deweyville got the 3rd playoff spot last year by beating Warren 29-26 at Deweyville to go 4-2 in district .With losses to EC and Buna. The Pirates had a dominating ground game last year in Justin Williams ,they no longer have him.Fact is Deweyville and Warren lost very good running backs from last years clubs and will be down a little in that department. They scheduled Vinton this year to replace a Cathedral team they beat 76-0(good move on there part).I did not down DVille in the post.I made a prediction that D-Ville will beat BVille by 50.I think they will.I also think they have a pretty good club that would benefit from a tougher non district schedule. They could compete with the Orangefield's and HJ'S on the football field and in my opinion would then be better prepared to play teams like they are going to face after this week.Do you honestly think the teams your playing now are gonna get you prepared for EC,Buna,Hardin or any of the rest of the district muchless clubs like Corrigan or Newton?
  24. Hardin Hornets-I was wrong about them, they are playing light years ahead of last years club.Overall improvement of the clubs in 24aa.
  25. Warren has looked pretty good on the defensive side of the ball.Offensively we have got to finish drives. We have had way to many trips inside to 10 and came up empty. Most of our offensive scores have came on big plays. These kids still have the potential to be pretty good. They will have to play better offensive ball though to make the playoffs in a very even 24aa district.
