  1. LU should thank their lucky stars that a coach of this caliber would want the job.You dont work as an associate head coach on a staff like the TCU one and not know your business.Everyone thinks Ancelot would have fiiled the coffers with local players and won at the national level. While she is a great coach that wouldn't have happened. There will be some local girls who will play D1 college ball but they are few and far between.Everyone needs to check out LSU,Tenn and North Carolina this week in the tourney and you will see the talent it takes to play at that level. The resume this guy has in recruiting speaks for itself,we need to support him and let him get the ladies program back on track. There is nothing like 10,000 screaming fans in the Montagne whether it be for the men or the women. While I don't know the man personally,I think this was a very good hire.Good luck coach.Go big red.
  2. I still think this district is gonna be a war every night.Kountze will be good no doubt just not as dominate as this year.EC will be super with Tramain and Vance but they will have to replace Prestons scoring and Eugenes defense and that won't be easy.Warren will be returning a very solid core of players(3 second team all district players and 2 hon mentions).Hardin will have Marsh and Deweyville will have Bland and Jackson.I like my Warriors chances.
  3. Great job Caleb.Solid outing from everyone.Hope Brody's shoulder isn't serious.Congrats Warriors
  4. 1.EC 11-1 (WON THE TIEBREAKER) 2. KOUNTZE 11-1 (WON THE REGIONAL FINAL AGAINST EC AND STATE) 3.WARREN 7-5 4.HARDIN 5-7 (I THINK THEY SPLIT WITH DVILLE AND BEAT BUNA AND ANAHUAC) 5.NOT SURE THE ORDER OF DEWEYVILLE,ANAHUAC AND BUNA.I DON'T THINK ANY OF THESE THREE WON OVER 4 DISTRICT GAMES.
  5. If Caleb pitches a complete game Warren wins this one in a close game.If not the same old problems surface again.Does Kountze have lights?Shorter games and darkness help the Warriors.Go Warriors
  6. High school umps and little leauge umps are 2 completely different things. For years the umps in Tyler county are kids off the local high school teams. There is an occasional grown up that works a game if it's a contest between 2 of the better teams. For the most part the kids do a good job of calling. It always amazed me that the parents that complained the loudest never coached, umped or worked in the concession stands.
  7. DP#1 Warren went in to the last game of the year against Buna with a playoff spot on the line. They played EC tough, beat Kountze and gave Deweyville all they could handle.Don't underestimate the Warriors.I'll stick to my earlier statement.EC is the favorite Warren and Deweyville have huge holes to fill at running back.Second and third will be wide open.
  8. Lazeek,I wasn't implying WOS would cut McCarter loose.I thought he may be ready to coach elsewhere.I don't pretend to know anything about his situation over there.I do know he is an excellent coach. If he is at the helm they will be in the mix.
  9. HJ won't rebuild, they'll reload. There is a reason that that good teams show up under the same coaches year after year. 1.HJ 2.Silsbee 3.WOS (if McCarter is still runnin the show)
  10. How do you leave Stephen Moten off this team. The kid made several all tourney teams before district.Playing time went down a little in district, but was a huge factor in Austin.I know this is an all district club but Moten is as good or better than 99% of these players.
  11. Bland made 2nd team.He is a solid player but was inelgible for half the season.I know Bland was the heart and soul of the Deweyville club.I think Rivon also missed some district games and made the first team..Don't know if I've ever seen that before.I dont think these teams were picked as much by stats as they were by grade classifications.I know Sims and McDonald both had stats that were as impressive as several first teamers. That being said I think its good to give senior players recognition.Lord knows the kids from Kountze and EC deserved it.No disgrace in being 2nd team when you have a 1st team like that.
  12. If you recognize those names you know they could hit their spots.
  13. Matt and Cody are officially Warren Warriors.Congrats Matt on a great season.
  14. Sims and McDonald definitely played well enough and had the stats to be 1st teamers. Most of the 1st team selections went to Seniors which is good. Those guys deserve the recognition in there last year. Not a bad player on this list.Congrats guys.
  15. No I haven't seen Buna's pitchers this year. When I think of dominant pitchers in 1-a and 2-a ball I think of kids like Douglas from Colmesneil,McCabe from Spurger and Beck from Woodville. These kids could throw it in the mid 90's.I know Buna is good and should be the district favorite but if they have anyone throwing in the 90's they have kept him quiet.I was going strictly by scores from previous game and I haven't seen where they have shut anyone out.I think Warren will hit the ball just don't know which group will show up on the defensive side.I still think it will be closer than some folks think.
  16. Yea Tucker batted for Caleb.I would have led off with Caleb and had Tucker pinch hit for Kirkpatrick or James. But that's easy to say now.The coach is doing a pretty good job he's just a little short handed.I don't think there is a dominate pitcher in the district this year. The bats will have us in every game if the defense plays like they did Monday.
  17. Caleb probably won't be availabe to pitch so it could be interesting. If Colt can get out of the first several innings it will be close. The defense is pretty strong with Caleb at short.Buna hasn't been blowing people away and I don't think they have dominate pitching.Still they are at home so they will be the favorite but not by much. Buna-7 Warren-5
  18. The major difference between the 2005 club and this one isn't attitude it's pitching plain and simple.Wallace and Flores were a good 1-2 punch and they had Reese and Granger in the bull pen. This club doesn't have that luxury.I didn't see the errors the other day just glanced at the book.Lovin Sports must not know much about baseball,Parker and West were already in the game they had just batted.I personally wouldn't have taken Caleb completely out of the lineup with his spot due up 1st in the 7th,he is to good a hitter and is his best middle infielder when not pitching. There are some pretty good young players on this club but they aren't quite ready for varsity ball if your gonna contend for a playoff spot. They will miss Carnley both with the stick and the glove,he could have helped them.I hope they keep hitting the ball,if they do they can make some folks nervous.Go Warriors
  19. I think they had 2 errors thru 6 according to the gentleman who was keeping the books, but overall a well played game. Not a ton of errors in the 7th just a few ill timed ones.Pitching depth will be the season long question here. That being said you still gotta protect the lines in the late innings.Coaching wasn't the problem just a break down in concentration.Still these kids are fun to watch, you never know which club will show up.
  20. They have a good young coach and solid player to build around but the district will be alot tougher next year than it was this year.BS,HD and Spurger will all be improved.A playoff spot will be tough for the oilers.Best of luck to the kids they have a tough act to follow.
  21. That wasn't meant as knock on you.I have alot of respect for you as a ball player and your dad as a coach.Deweyville will benefit from your return and along with Kevin ya'll will be fine.I was just showing how balanced I thought the district would be.I was always impressed with Jacobs ability to dish the rock, but I have to admit I did not see either one of you this year.Welcome back to 24aa it is gonna be fun to watch next year.
  22. Warren has alot of defensive starters back off a very good unit. These kids will flat out hit ya.Don't know if they have anyone to fill Esways shoes on the offensive side. They will be very competetive again next year.
  23. It's easy to second guess coaches after the fact. When Caleb was pulled in the 7th he was due to lead off the bottom of the inning. After him they weren't in the meat of the order so nothing really happened to the sticks they were just in the dugout.Tucker got a good leadoff hit just nothing after that.As far as the talent in the dugout Esway could help.Tucker is a pretty solid hitter.not many more in the dugout from what I've seen.I don't think they are carrying but 12 now.Bottom line in a small 2-a school you need everyone to play to be successful. This program wasn't brought down overnight and it won't be rebuilt that quickly either.Good luck to the Warriors the rest of the way.
