  1. Gotta admit this is a great year for setx basketball.I just wish the regional locations were closer where I could catch more than 1.I guess I'll flip a coin this weekend. So much basketball,so little time :-\ :-\ :-\
  2. In their scheme it will be whoever the opposing coach leaves open.Your right all of them can shoot it.Good luck Hawks from your friends in Warren.
  3. ntputter17, Haven't made it to a game since Saturday but the middle infield should iron itself out.Swinney will be solid at short stop when he winds up there. They have 2nd basemen running out there ears.Carnley can play well there as well as West,Blackshear or Herrington.I know Levi is doing a great job in Center but that would be an option especially if Esway is back,he could definitely have the speed to play in the outfield.I think these coaches will do a great job from what I've seen this year so far.I still wish Granger and Sims would join the pitching staff. The way these kids are hitting the ball they are gonna be in most of their district games.Good luck Warriors.
  4. Every coach on here is 2 games away from Austin except Carter and he won 24 games with a team full of juniors.I'll have to agree Travis has done a great job(he had a pretty good teacher)
  5. I have to agree with Hargraves from EC.There are a lot of coaches who have done a great job this year, but Hank made a believer out of me in the Kountze playoff game.Had a star who was struggling several role players in foul trouble and still used his bench brilliantly. While the players have to perform he had all of his prepared to do just that.Fuller has done a great job this year with a very good club that is full of senior leadership. He had the program headed in the right direction last year but the reclassification helped tremendously. Not a bad candidate on the list.I am goin to vote!!!!!
  6. My guess would be the coaches thought she was the best young player in the district.Thats normally how these picks are made.
  7. Congrats Tiffany, played well in an overall tough season for the Lady Warriors.
  8. I heard the newcomer was the tall post player from HJ.Haven't seen anything but got this from a very reliable source.
  9. Warren's defense should be its strength.Have to agree about the catcher,he is money.Caleb probably isn't ready to throw over a couple of innings.Sure wish the coaches would talk to Granger and Sims. They are gonna need some depth on the mound.
  10. Easy there Roy.I already said Wayne was a good coach.I was just asking a question.I know Memorial had several players a couple of years ago who signed to play college baseball. They didn't field but 9 players Saturday, which isn't many for a 5-a school.
  11. I wasn't downing Wayne Mckellar,I have known him for years. He is an excellent baseball coach.I saw his teams at Stafford and years back at Warren.I was just a little surprised that a school the size of Memorial didn't have a bigger turnout for baseball.I know there are some really good baseball players in Pt.Arthur,I guess they just aren't playing.Sorry if it sounded like an insult,it was just a question.
  12. If Kountze can rediscover the pressure they played with earlier this season they will be hard to beat.If not this club can beat them.Best of luck Lions I'LL say Kountze by 8.
  13. We won't see many double digit wins from here on out.EC by 4.Good luck guys from the folks in Warren.
  14. Was this Memorials varsity ???Not what I was expecting to see from a McKellar coached club.
  15. Hardin looked like they graduated several,(we played them on their senior night).Marsh will be solid but they will have a hard time replacing the little curly headed guard. No disrespect to Kountze or EC but I don't think Warren is looking for third. They have just about everyone back.
  16. The district next year will be very competetive.EC will return Tramain and Vance and will be very good,Kountze graduates a ton of talent but will still be pretty solid.Warren will have to replace Granger inside but have several kids that can fill that role.I think they have a legitimate shot at the top spot.Andrews and Sims will both need to bulk up a little to be the kind of players they can be.Both of these kids scored in mid 20's several times this year in what was a very balanced attack.Probably 2 of the best returning shooters in the area. The Warriors will also return Nash,McBee,Swinney,Wright and Young from a team that was 24-8.They will be a lot of fun to watch.
  17. Hawk,If you ever had one blow up on ya,you'd know what I was talking about.Just surprised the young man came back as strong as he did.Good job this year by both kids.
  18. Sims had 10 including 7-7 from the line also had 10 rebounds,Andrews had 13 and Granger had 6.McBee had 10.Warren shot 17-21 from the free throw line but lost the battle of the boards and turned it over to much (22) to win a playoff game.Warren returns everyone next year except Granger so the future looks good in Warren.Congrats boys on a great season 24-8 ain't to shabby.Good luck to EC and Kountze the rest of the way from your 24aa counterparts.
  19. Alot of folks haven't seen Caleb Jackson in the past because he had a severe knee injury last year. That's one thing that makes him so impressive this year.Anyone who has ever had a knee knows what it takes to overcome it.This young man can really light it up.Brandon is a great player and deserves all the recognition in the world, but Mr.Jackson is quality player in his own right.Might want to give out 2 in the 1-a level.
  20. There are some very good baseball players in Warren. For some reason everyone thinks they have to pick 1 sport.Thats tough in a 2-a school. If this is a real game Lumberton probably wins it in fairly close game.If its a scrimmage who cares, both teams will have things to work on.Good luck Warriors.
  21. ECBucFan, I think there just hoping there's 1 sport yall don't win district in.Congrats on a super year so far.
