  1. setxslam, The set worked beautifully BOTH times we ran it.Not one of our better nights.Came out extremely flat in the 3rd quarter and scored only 8.It was pretty much over from there.Tramain basically took it over scoring 27.The rest of the bucs were pretty quiet tonight.
  2. Warren has been improving all year.I felt like they actually took a step back tonight.I don't know if it was having a playoff spot clinched or what but they didn't play with much desire tonight.Big crowd but the gym was as quiet as I have ever heard it.Sims hit his first 2 threes and then shot 1 more time the rest of the night.Tramain had a great game but the rest of the Bucs looked like they were looking ahead to Kountze.Warren looked like a club tonight that was satisfied with just staying close.Overall not one of their better efforts.Hope they get focused before the Newton game.Good luck in the playoffs to Kountze,EC and the Warriors.
  3. If that wasn't a misprint that's about as ugly as it gets.
  4. Sounds like somebodys momma needs a belt!!!!!!
  5. I hope Granger plays, he could definitely help the staff. If he is healthy Caleb Swinney is probably a little harder to hit.Colt Kelly got some experience last year as a freshman and will improve even more this year.If Paul Sims plays he can throw it in a coffee cup and could give some valuable innings. There are probably no aces on this staff but they could definitely get the job done as a group.Does Ryan Heiselbetz still go to school at Warren?Thats 1 you could build around!!!!!Go Warriors.
  6. I'm surprised the scrimmages start this early,Kountze,E/C and Warren will be playing basketball for at least 2 more weeks. Not sure about Kountze or E/C but Warren could field a pretty good baseball team out of the gym right now.I sure hope these kids play.Granger just signed a football scholarship but could anchor the pitching staff.Swinney was hurt most of last year but has all the tools at short and can pitch and hit.Sims sat out last year to concentrate on basketball but can pitch, play 1st or catch,he can also carry a good stick.Rawls is solid in the outfield and at the plate.Kelly can bring some depth on the mound and played last year pickin up some valuable experience.Blackshear sat out last year and has a super glove in the infield.Add Young,Mcbee,Nash and Wright you have kids with speed to burn.I'll support the Warriors all the way I just hope these kids play, they could definitely make a difference.Warren has a solid core right now with Parker,(2)Babino boys,West,Carnley and Ellis.Iknow I probably left some out but Iknow these kids I've listed all can play.Add 2 energetic young coaches and this could be fun.Good luck guys,I'll be in the stands yelling for yall when basketball is over.
  7. Thats the second comment hdbasketball star has made about Warren's officials, yet they use the same chapter as the rest of southeast texas. The Hardin game on Tuesday was called by UIL officials and Warren had 1 more foul than Hardin 18 to 17.Sounds pretty even to me.E/C has to be the favorite in this one but anything can happen when you have shooters and Warren has some.
  8. Now that's funny Poppa ;D ;D ;D ;D
  9. Warren actually was in worse foul trouble than Hardin.Granger fouled out after a super game inside.Andrews and Nash both picked up there 4th foul early in the second half.Great job Warriors on clinching a playoff berth tonight.24-5 on the year good job guys.
  10. How many seniors does Big Sandy start? I know when they played last summer in Woodville they had a lot of underclassmen. They should be strong for several years.Anyone know?
  11. I haven't seen WOS or Silsbee play this year so I can't comment on them.I have seen HJ,EC and Kountze several times each and WH 4 times ,while WH has a good club there would be some real matchup problems for them, especially against HJ and Kountze. In all honesty they are a very good 1-a club and should be very proud of their acomplishments.Good luck to all of them in the playoffs.
  12. If both teams win out this game has nothing to do with winning the district. If the 2 are tied at the end of the regular season they are co champs. The game will decide playoff seeding with the winner getting a first round bye and the loser playing the 3rd place team from a pre determined district in the bi district round.Lots of sides to this argument but sometimes if teams are close in talent it's better to play and not have the off time.Evadale is a great place to play.Warren played EC there a couple of years ago and there were people sitting in the stairs.Enjoy it the kids will remeber it forever.
  13. There is a huge advantage, just look at how much stronger the non football schools are early in the season. They can't officially start practices but they can do a ton of drills in the off season periods, plus just being in the gym shooting or playing pickup games is priceless. That isn't a knock on them,I don't blame them for taking advantage of the time.
  14. Cris Carter from Warren has taken a team loaded with Juniors and has a 23-5 record. He has the kids believing in the system and could very possibly make the playoffs this year.I know he has been in a couple of lively topics this year, but the people that know him have the utmost respect for him.On the girls side I would go with Bob Kellum from Silsbee, look up class in the dictionary and thats who you find.
  15. I'll agree with HD and setxslam,Marsh and Moten have to be on the list.My vote goes to Stephen Moten from Ozen.I was seeing alot about him early in the year and was wondering if he had gotten hurt. This kids vertical is simply amazing.Marsh is the best kept secret in se texas.
  16. Granger-17,Andrews -16 and Sims-10.
  17. Lots of things can happen in high school basketball.I would let both the 1-a and 2-a clubs finish thier district schedules before I bought tickets to the Montagne Center.
  18. I would go with Donahoe right now, simply because he a year older. The first thing I would look for would be court savy and character over skills when you have 3 players this close in talent. You couldn't go wrong with Ryan or Tramain in these areas so I would go with experience.Be nice to have that problem as a coach.
  19. Don't put the cart in front of the horse,it's a long road to Austin. It's a whole lot easier to win it than it is to get there. One game at a time guys. They have a legit chance.
  20. I''ll agree with pseudo,Janet does a super job also. The top coaches in this thread Killam,Ancelot and Sims all have the common thread discipline, team play and hard work.Coach Sims actually took a group of hard working girls from Nederland and made a playoff team out of them years ago.Probably one of her best coaching jobs.PS Coach Wilson from Lumberton has also got to be on this list.
  21. Coach Sims at HJ still does it the old fashion way, hard work ,fundamentals and discipline.Thats great to see these days when there are so many who think its all about "ME".She teaches the game with a passion you don't always see from 25 to 30 year coaches.
  22. Just look at the list of coaches in this district. They would be tough if they all had 5 midgets on the floor.Their will be a couple of real good teams staying home in this district.
  23. Larry wins this 1 at home.Chireno by 8.
