No offense to EC but I don't think anyone could beat Kountze in their gym the way they are playing right now.You could see a different look to them last week when we were there.They are focused now and have had this date circled on their calendar.I think Kountze wins this one going away.Tramain will do his best to keep it close,just don't think it will be enough.

#35 did not play for Deweyville,I heard he would be back next week .Not sure though.Don't know about#22 for Anahuac,he hurt a shoulder earlier this year and I haven't heard anything else on him.

Broaddus is down a little from last year after they lost their point guard but will play both West Hardin and Big Sandy close.Chireno may pose some matchup problems for WH and Big Sandy both thwy have some very good shooters.Haven't seen West Sabine.Playoffs will be fun to watch on the small school side.

Should be a dandy,Kountze is really playing well right now.

This has almost gotten comical.To say Cris Carter doen't have class is like saying the pope ain't catholic.The guy is one of the classiest around,he is a dedicated father and an elementary school principle.He is also a very competetive coach,all the good ones are.I have seen a ton of coaches over the years interact with the fans and normally its forgotten by the end of the game.Saw the same type situation from one of the EC coaches a couple of years ago and he is one of the classiest guys around.Basketball is an emotional game,that has to be played and coached that way.I know this will stir up a can of worms but Cris would be on my list of best coaches and classiest guys,he'd be on yours to if you knew him.

Matt is number 22,he has struggled a little lately but is a very good shooter and is very capable of lighting it up on any given night.He had a pretty tough night and was probably a little frustrated but your right the dunk was prettty awesome,actually jumped over a defender.

Do the 1-A districts send 2 or 3 teams to the playoffs?24-A is a solid district but I'm not sure how correct the polls are .Big Sandy and WH are both very solid clubs but HD and Spurger records are not real strong ,I think Spurger is 13-13 and HD IS 11-9 I believe.Not knocking either club because I know HD is young and Spurger has lost some close games,I think both of them may be a year away.Best of luck in the playoffs to whoever makes it out of this group.

Wasn't really close,Deweyville misses Bland.I wondered what had happened to them just looking at the boxscores.They should turn it around if they get him back Friday.

That was a hot topic this summer.Looks like Deweyville has decided to go the football route and have kinda pushed their basketball aside.I heard Bland may be back Friday.He definitely makes them better,more with his defense and rebounding than his scoring.They just look a little out of sync without him kicking the ball out and starting the break.They would have been in the mix with what they have now if the Jackson kids had the returned.

This one comes down to how much the officials let them play.Spurger has the edge on the post with Tanner and Whitacre,WH in the backcourt with Letsinger and Copeland.In Spurger they usually let em bang so this one is close.WH wins it by 6 probably closing out Spurgers playoff hopes.

Their tied for 3rd,not sure how thats an outside shot.Had a tough week last week traveling to EC and Kountze.Should be favored at home,Warren by 10.

I know you may find this hard to believe,but I don't think WH is a better team than Warren.They did beat them earlier in the year by 2 points after Warren led most of the way by at least 10.Your right its all about matchups.The Warren vs WH would be another topic.My question was about Deweyville,is Bland still out?He would matchup well with Marsh and Deweyville has a lot bigger guards so I was just curious if they had some injury problems.Just curious.

Maybe he was originally from up there?I don't know,I asked about him at a christmas dinner in Onalaska and thats what she told me ;)

Buna is small and doesn't have anyone to match up with Marsh but they are playing at home.Harin wins by 12.

All of Onalaskas starters graduated last year.Trey took a job closer to his home town according to my sister-in-law who is on the school board up there.

This can't be the same Deweyville team from early in the season.No disrespect to Hardin but if Deweyville is healthy and has there players Hardin isn't a 38 pt better club.My question is still,what has happened to Deweyville?Anyone know?

What in the world would a tougher schedule done about this week.Warren had EC and Kountze on the road in the same week.They could have played the San Antonio Spurs in pre season and not been any better prepared.Face it,this district is tough,Warren still has a very good young ball club.They will be fine.They are 20-5 with losses to Deweyville,EC,Kountze,West Hardin and Hardin Jefferson.Not a bad list to lose to.They still have an excellent shot at the playoffs.I imagine West Hardin is glad there not in this district anymore.

I think they played Tuesady.Hardin won by around 20 I think.

Thomas had 27 for EC.Sims had 19 for Warren and Granger had 15.

Why would he want to after the way they looked tonight?That was flat out ugly :'( :'( :'(

Paul Sims from Warren,earlier this year was 9-11 against Deweyville and 10-11 against Anahuac.Since the second game he is something like 46-52 for the season.His worst night was 5-9 in the opener.

Sims has fewer attempts this year than last,when he hit 74'-3's as a sophomore,however his percentage is probably higher this year.He has hit 45 3's thru last friday.Quitely goes about playing his game ,but have seen him score 25 in a half several times.He is also a deadly free throw shooter.
