Brodie Parker and Travis McBee from Warren, both juniors both very solid.

Warren wins 3-0,advances to the next round Thursday in Palestine.

For some reason the volleyball district are different.Woodville finished first,Warren second and San Augustine 3rd.

best running back in southeast texas

Williams and Esway both have the key ingredients for a very good running back. They see the field well have great speed and FINISH their runs.Either one of these kids could play at the big schools.I don't know Justin ,but I know Marc has had several letters from some pretty good colleges. -
Thoughts on 24-2A! How do they finish?????

Buna would be my favorite.Warren has a new coach and a ton of talent walking the halls,if some of them get back on the diamond they could compete for a spot.Deweyville looked pretty good last year not sure how many returners they have. That would be my top 3 .Buna,Deweyville and Warren. -
SOUTHEAST TEXAS COACHES RANKING FOR 2006
whsalum replied to understand's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
The ball is the same size in 2-a or 3-a.The years Carter went to state he coached in 1-a,however they were good enough to win the 3-a thru 1-a bracket of the YMBL tournament. The size of the scool has nothing to do with the knowledge of the game. You gotta coach who has 497 wins I dont care if he's in the Saturday morning lil dribblers leauge he has to know the game.I'm glad some of these small school coaches aren't well known,we couldn't afford to keep em. -
Deweyville's Larry Jackson To Chireno

I had the privelege of playing against Deweyville in the early to mid 70's and you are correct.I can remember Warren and Deweyville in the late 60.s and early 70's.There was only ONE playoff team and that was some great standing room only games.Jessie Wolf (Tyler County Sheriff) and his brother James sure made those games special.Actually the best coach I ever saw down there coached the girls(they were very good back then also)Al Barbe who later went to Lamar.Deweyville has a good football club this year, but they also have tons of potential in basketball.I always enjoyed watching Coach Jackson coach,as long as I wasn't officiating. -

Carter from Warren has 497 career wins and a 2 state tourney appearances, cant leave him off this list. -
My heart goes out to the folks at EC after hearing about the tragic accident last week.Made me have a late night talk with my kids and reevaluate whats really important and what we sometimes think is.Our prayers from Warren are with the folks in Chambers county.Best of luck to all the teams in 24aa the rest of the way.

My vote goes to Marc Esway from Warren. He has rushed for over 200 yards in just about every game this season despite the defenses keying solely on him.His only game this year he didn't have real good stats was EC,where he was injured with 27 seconds left in the first quarter. He had 55 yards in that quarter. He and Williams from Deweyville put on a show in the Warren/Deweyville game.Kid is very fast and has good size and is attracting several colleges. -
My 4A-1A Bi-District Predictions
whsalum replied to Bobcatfan4life's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
I honestly don't know if Warren or Buna will win.I do know Buna doesn't want anything to do with Newton!!!!EC is pretty solid this year but I believe Newton is still the best 2-a team in the area. They have 2 losses to solid 3-a clubs. -
Wouldn't like it in high school, sometimes slowing it down can keep a less talented group in the game if they are disciplined.
-
This may actually help Buna,This could be the only thing to slow EC skill guys this year.Still pick EC by 14.Should be entertaining.
-
I will take EC in this one by 14 simply because they are playing in Buna.I don't see Buna beating E/C or Deweyville and Warren will be a toss up.The 3rd playoff spot will come down to the last game of the season between Buna and Warren.God knows its time for Warren to win a close one.The final district standings will look like this. 1.EC 6-0 2.Deweyville 5-1 3.Warren or Buna 4-2 (This is a toss up folks)
-
This year I don't know if it would be the OT loss to Woodville, the 1 point loss to Groveton, the 2 point loss to West Hardin or the 3 point loss to Deweyville.I think it's about time we won a close one

Deweyville 29 Warren 26 Final/Comments
whsalum replied to d_end's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Very good ballgame. Both teams had some early turnovers that balanced out.Warren was once again unable to convert an extra point and that was the differnce.Very few penalties and overall a great ballgame to watch.Hope the young man from Deweyville with the hurt ankle is OK.Good job by both clubs tonight. -
Warren at Deweyville, who gets the win?
whsalum replied to SteelerCzy's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
Warren's tailback looks to be moving pretty well.Should be real good ballgame. -
I was there also and saw some good hard hits but nothing dirty.Iwished our back hadn't gotten hurt but I thought it was a well played game with the exception of turnovers.no late hits or unsportsmanship penalties that I can remember.
-
EC got their last test last friday. They won't be challenged again until the playoffs start.PS there are 2 anahuac players who haven't voted in the poll.
-
Buna better have a good defense if they are going to play with E/C.Going back to the first of the season I have been posting about EC speed, but you will have to see it for yourself.Warren has a solid "D" no knocks on anyone else but it is the best I have seen in this district.I think the battle for second in this district will be this friday night in Deweyville.I just hope we have our runningback healthy.
-
That's a great group to be compared to.Kountze will be as good as last year with all their guys back.E/C will have Tramain and Preston, both are very good, but not sure who else they have.Warren has their top 9 players returning including 2- 1st team all district selections. It will all depend on how they take care of the ball. They will have 4kids who are around 6"3 and they have a couple who can flat light it up from behind the arc.Kountze has to be the favorite but Warren will turn some heads this year.
-
Todd is not declining, just reloading.HJ will be much better than most people think this year.
