Silsbee vs Huffman Hargrave Region 3 Championship

I think Huffman started 1 senior and 4 juniors last night . They will definitely miss Harvey but they will be more than respectable. -
Silsbee vs Huffman Hargrave Region 3 Championship

At some point you gotta do something different if you're 2/28. I've watched Huffman 4 times this year and with the exception of their one loss they always do just enough to beat ya. I don't think tonight was going to be any different, If the Tigers would have gone 7/28 the Falcons would have changed their approach. We don't give em enough credit but there's a reason the haven't lost but one ballgame this year. They do whatever it takes with what they have, I think they have one more win in em. -

I certainly would have thought it would have been more than 6. I picked Huffman by 8 but I thought Silsbee's 3 ball would keep them in it. I think at one point you mentioned getting away from the 3 for a few possessions and finding a rhythm . That probably would have been given them a chance to regroup and get in a groove. -

This was what I was afraid of with the young Tigers but I didn't see em going 2/28 from behind the arc. That's just a brutal night. The young kids are gonna be legit, no doubt. -

I mentioned that yesterday. The Tigers had to hit some of those or they were in trouble. Some nights it just don't fall. -

Harvey is the ultimate team player. He does it all and does it well. He lets the opposition pick their poison and makes everyone around him better. I think everyone is kinda getting blinded by the young Tigers. I know the Falcons wouldn't have won this ballgame without Harvey but their next 6 players were underclassmen. They aren't gonna fall off the face of the earth next year. They should match up well against Boerne and could very easily win that ballgame. They do it in a very methodical way but it's a way their coach has them buying into. I don't think they'll have a shot in the title game but I would never have dreamed a month ago when they left Sour Lake they'd be in the state tournament. Congrats to Silsbee on fine season . It's time to give Huffman their due. They are a good ballclub. They are what their record says they are !! -

I know they can shoot em, I’ve seen em play three or four times this year. Some nights they can fill it up and like all 3 point shooting teams some nights they don’t. For the Tigers to win this one they will have to hit em and keep Huffman from getting the good open looks. They aren’t gonna turn Huffman over in bunches. -

Huffman usually handles pressure defenses really well. Silsbee better lock up on em and run em off that 3 point line. -

I had the opportunity to sit beside Coach Foster at the regional tournament in Huntsville. While watching the clubs warm up I asked him how he’d like to start the first day of practice with the collection of athletes on the floor? He said “ it would all depend on their attitude “. Nuff said. Super coach and better man . Congratulations Wildcats on a great season!! -

A few years back I sat in the Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville and watched what may have been the best collection of high school hoopsters I’ve ever seen. It was a regional final that pitted Yates vs Silsbee. Is our region down drastically this year or is this statewide. I wish this years finalist the best but this doesn’t look anything like a normal year ☹️ -

Don’t be lulled in to thinking Huffman is a walk it up the floor, yawn, type team. They can push the basketball at will when they choose to and will. They are a very hard team to press because they have solid older kids in the backcourt. When they choose to slow the ball down their offensive stuff is like watching a clinic. Once again I would urge you to watch them away from the ball. #10 will dictate the flow of the game by what the defense gives him. #4 is very good on the block but the the difference on that side of the ball will be #22 and I believe the other kid is #2 . They are the ultimate role players. For Silsbee the key will be to hit the 3’s, the Falcons are small on the perimeter and can be shot over the top of. Huffman is better than people give them credit for being. This will be a dandy but I’ll take Huffman by 6. Huffman 70 Silsbee. 64 -
Perfect description. Very disciplined team that run their sets to perfection. They may get “out athleted” before they make it to San Antonio but they won’t beat themselves. They have one very special player who makes everyone around him better.

Huffman isn’t going to beat themselves. Carthage will have a team full of athletes. Huffman will have the better basketball players. I’ll take the Falcons by 8 Huffman 70 Carthage 62

Number 11 Huffman vs 23 Lumberton

Exactly my point. Now Silsbee will be a completely different animal. Those matchups will favor the Tigers. Tempo would decide that one and how well the Tigers could lock up on Harvey. -

I think when you get to role players Huffman has the decided advantage. Great coaching matchup, both teams have a guy that can score. Neither team has much depth coming off the bench. I think McClure and Harvey will both get theirs but the difference will be #4 and #22 for the Falcons. I think Huffman wins it by 8. Huffman-74 Lumb-66 -

If there were punches thrown Coach Davis absolutely did the right thing. If there were punches thrown from both directions there should have have been more than 1 suspension. I honestly never saw a punch. -

Lumberton has had a great season but Huffman has the better team. If the Raiders stay within single digits they have played a good ballgame. -

I was about as close as anyone buying a ticket could be and I didn’t see anything that warranted a suspension but I don’t make those decisions. I did find it curious that only one player was suspended for fighting. I have a few scars of my own but never got one shadow boxing. -
Can’t wait to hear this answer 😂😂

Yates best player is 6’9” that’s not a good sign for the Tigers .This game won’t resemble anything close to the recent games between these two teams.
