  1. I may be wrong but I think Michael Saladin led the nation in 3 point percentage last year. I hate to have a differing opinion with the basketball gods but Ryan Donahoe, Jarvis Bernard and Zjori Bosha we’re all 3 better basketball players than the young man from Lumberton. I know I’m gonna make ya drop your coffee but RJ Sears is a better overall ball player. I don’t mean any disrespect to Mr McClure but you’re trying to make him something he isn’t. He’s a very good high school basketball player and there’s nothing wrong with that .
  2. I know you’re never wrong but I gotta respectfully disagree. I’m glad the young man signed with Lamar. He’s a heckuva free throw shooter. In his defense other than #25 he didn’t have much help tonight. Lumberton has a hard time handling pressure and repeatedly turned it over on a pretty simple mid court trap. The young man from Silsbee, I believe his # was 2 is gonna be the real deal. He is gonna have a D1 body. Nice shot from behind the arc and could get to the basket pretty much at will. Not very pretty basketball tonight.
  3. I think I saw where Newton won this one in overtime. According to the schedule Woodville is 2-10 with wins over Anderson Shiro and Warren. I thought Woodville would be much better than they are.
  4. You notice I said if they control the tempo they make it respectable. This one is a matchup nightmare for the Dawgs
  5. Should be a pretty good game. I’m take United by 12. If Nederland can have a little control of the tempo they’ll keep it respectable
  6. I think we lose sight of how much talent it takes to play D1 college basketball. Today’s college game demands not only pure shooting skills but also big bodies and physicality. I know as you get into the mid majors we see a drop off in these traits to some extent but they are still there. I hope the young man excels at Lamar I hope even more that he gets the type of education there that makes him successful.
  7. My comment was in regards to the young mans performance having nothing to do with HJ. Most times defenders have some affect on poor shooting performances. I wish nothing but the best for this young man at Lamar. I honestly hope your right and he excels there. It’s been awhile since the Cardinals basketball team has been exciting. I miss those days.
  8. All 3 PNG teams Freshman JV and Varsity played at HJ Tuesday. There was no mention of Covid then .
  9. So are you saying in all those games you’ve never seen a D1 player who doesn’t belong ? Whether a player is D1 or not is irrelevant once they sign. That’s when all the opinions come in to play. Once again I wish the young man nothing but the bests .
  10. PNG played Monday when did they quarantine?
  11. In all fairness to Joe Fan in the stands they don’t make their living evaluating talent so they probably shouldn’t be as good as Coach Price. I’ve probably watched as many games in the Old McDonald Gym, Civic Center and the Montagne Center as most people and have seen some great players there. I’ve also saw some the may not have deserved to be there. I hope Coach Price gets the program back to where it once was.
  12. This is very true. I wish the young man the best and certainly wouldn’t expect him to turn it down.
  13. I’m not sure Id believe this statement. HJ had to have a little to do with it. I wish the McClure kid the best at Lamar but I’m not convinced his game translates into D1 college basketball. JMO for what it’s worth.
  14. Sears has had some very impressive ones this season. He can flat out get up !
  15. This is true. The rest of the H town schools would be protesting if Pop showed up to play with a hand picked team 😳😂😂😂
  16. And make them a prohibitive favorite 😂
  17. If Popovich started Coaching In H town that voting interest may change 😂
  18. Good way to tip it back off
  19. Is Buna still quarantined?
  20. My opinion of the game had nothing to do with talent or coaching ability. I think HJ has one of the best coaches in the state. I personally think discipline is the most important aspect of the game and it will bite you at the most inopportune times. I still think the Hawks are the better team on any given night but until they prove it that’s just my opinion.
  21. Not sure if it had anything to do with it or not but he was coming off a suspension.
  22. Yes sir they changed their game completely when they lost him. They are a little “suspect “ at the post.
  23. The night I saw LCM earlier this year they had two kids who could fill it up from behind the arc. Their PG got ejected early which changed their game completely. If they don’t shoot it like that regularly they will be in trouble.
  24. HH has a solid club. They do everything fundamentally sound especially helping on defense and pass the basketball. Very unselfish club. Harvey is a smart little player but is a little small and may have a problem creating his own shots against a bigger defender. They are an excellent screening team. I haven’t seen Yates this year but HH isn’t solid enough win this region if Yates is anywhere near what they were last year. My biggest surprise from HH was their overall size and I believe Harvey was their only senior.
  25. I have to admit I was surprised that LCM got beat by 16 on their home floor. They have the shooters to play with anyone and they appeared to me to have a pretty decent PG. Their weakness looked to be at the post. I’m guessing they were cold from behind the arc . Live by the 3 die by the 3.
