Lumberton at LC-M.... Thoughts?
whsalum replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Don’t sleep on Jeffcoat, that would a mistake. The home court is said to be worth 10 points. That eats up the double digits. The team that shoots Free throws the best wins this one by 4 -
I didn’t say who my pic was only that they weren’t playing in Huffman tomorrow night. I have been wrong on many high school basketball predictions but I’ve learned a little humility along the way.
-
My pic for third isn’t playing in Huffman tomorrow night 😂
-
Should be a good ballgame. I think the site is wrong on the location, game is at Huffman. The Falcons are undefeated at 10-0 the Hawks are 7-3. Should be a great atmosphere to get the district kicked off. I do think one of these clubs will finish second 😂😂

I don’t know Coach Evans so my statement was not a slam on him. I wonder if they would hire a football coach who “loves the community, loves the game and loves the kids “. Woodville plays in a 3a district and has more than enough basketball talent to compete.
-
I think once football season is over in Woodville they go straight to Hennigan park, which is a shame. There has always been a lot of basketball talent in Woodville that never makes it to the floor. It’s probably been at least 15 years since they actually hired a basketball coach.
-
Hate to hear that. He had a ton of potential.
-
I know The Eagles have a post man returning that was a Freshman last year. He has a ton of potential. If he gets someone to develop his game he could be special.
-
Woodville should be pretty solid. They had a very good post player last year who was a Freshman. He had a monster playoff game in the first round against Kountze. They lost in OT but the Freshman kid carried Woodville and almost pulled off the win. I don’t think they put much emphasis on their basketball program . They always have the kids who are very athletic.

Yes sir I think you are probably right. I’ve seen them come to the HJ tournament for years and they usually have a bunch of athletes. I don’t think they suited but 7 or 8 today. HJ looked like they had 5 or 6 missing. -

Pretty good coach on the Shelbyville bench this year too. Shelbyville had a great coach last year and when he left they gotta heckuva replacement. -

It’s more of an exaggeration than a stretch. McClure is a good shooter but I wouldn’t compare his game and Bush’s. Players like Bush don’t come along very often. -
Man I hate to see this. I know it’s done in the best interest of the kids. I sure hope they get this virus under control before the UIL starts canceling seasons again.

I’m basing my opinion strictly on a recent one game eye test. I brought them up because they seem to be overlooked . I know some nights everything you put up goes in and that may have been the case the night I saw them. Looking at the box scores from their games it looks like they got a couple of kids that fill it up pretty often. I think overlooking them would be a mistake. -

I know this isn’t gonna be a popular response on this thread but I ain’t sure if the Tigers are going to be as successful in their district this year as most on here think. I haven’t seen Bridge City yet this year but I’m familiar with what they had coming back. The 4 teams in question Silsbee, Lumberton,Bridge City and LCM will beat each other up on a regular basis. The difference will be stealing some on the road and it takes young teams awhile to learn to do that. I haven’t seen much mention of LCM , they can be the most dangerous of this entire district. They have a solid PG, two very good shooters and if they get some post presence they could be the favorite. Lufkin will be a good measuring stick for the Tigers. They are pretty solid. Just my opinion for what it’s worth. -
I was always under the impression if the ball left the hands of the offensive guy from behind the arc and went in it was a 3. How in the world could the official claim to know intent

You sure that wasn’t your Uncle 😂😂
