I can agree with that to a certain point however no one knows their players like a coach. Nothing will get you beat quicker than a bunch of bad 3 point shooters. I don’t think the coach was the issue at WOS. There has been some good ones there over the last few years. It just doesn’t look like it get the emphasis that is necessary to win from the outside looking in.

They didn’t score in the 1st quarter against HJ and scored 2 in the 2nd or 3rd quarter. The final was 47-15 and it was at WOS. They hit a 3 at the buzzer. It wasn’t pretty.

He probably got tired of seeing them long rebounds come off the front iron and go the other way 😂

I believe their JV scored 2 points in the first half of a game I saw them play late in the season. I don’t think there is much emphasis on basketball at WOS. That’s a shame because they always got some horses. The coach was worth the price of admission lol

No way in the world you could take off 2 or 3 weeks and come back anywhere near where you are as a team. Sad deal for the players for sure.

They play a different brand of basketball in that region. I don’t see them being competitive against Argyle or Yates . They May stay competitive with Argyle but only because they both slow the Tempo. I’ll say Argyle 60 Stafford 48

Can we a agree there’s a little difference between a player changing residency and 3/5 of a team following a coach or would that be considered taboo ?

Coach Sigler took a team with 1 great player and 1 good one and won a district Co Championship. Coach Rideaux went 6-6 and took 4th in an extremely watered down playoff system. Hamshire Fannett was much improved no doubt about it but 6-6 shouldn’t get ya COY.

I think if memory serves me correctly HF went 6-6 in district play and finished 4th. Probably the reason a Coach with a 10-2 record was chosen above him.

I’ve never seen one of these ballots but I don’t think there’s a place to “ vote against “ anyone.

I don’t have any one playing. I just made an observation. When it proves untrue I’ll gladly retract it.

Their performance against HJ was as good as I’ve seen in several years. They beat a very good team by 50.

If this year is any indication Yates team for next season probably isn’t on the floor yet.

Coach Mitchell did a great job however the accolades outside of district aren’t considered in this voting.

I don’t have a problem with the coach of the year selection but it’s worth nothing the district had co champions this year and both cubs went 10-2. My pet peeve is the number of selections once again. I know it’s for recognizing the kids but 29 players in a 7 team district is a head scratcher.

As successful as Argyle , Highland Park and Bridgeport are I would think they would be under a microscope by their DC. I’m sure they also check close on residency requirements. It’s a tragedy when two young lives were destroyed because a group of young men were exploited to play a high school game.
