This is an unrelated question but what happened to the Freshman club at Bridge City? There were only 2 games yesterday at HJ. Seems like I remember the Cardinals having a decent Freshman club earlier in the year.

Don’t mistakenly get on the West Hardin folks. I was just looking at the club from an outside basketball fan. I’m not from West Hardin and have no idea what kind of underclassmen they have in their program.

My question is how do you have inexperienced players that are seniors? Earlier in the season the Rebels had players taking college football visits on game days. I gotta assume these two players were seniors. If a team is putting an inexperienced senior team on the floor it probably says more about that program than the opposition coach. By the way the guy at WH is one of the best in the area. I thought he had retired, it explained a lot when I saw the Oilers record.

That’s unusual for Evadale not to be in the top 4 in district. Don’t know if Ive seen that in a long time.

The first shot was blocked. They inbounded the ball with 1.5 seconds left and didn’t get a good look.

Seems to be more and more mad mommas storming across to talk to admins these days. Even had a law enforcement officer with his feelings on his sleeve after the game. The games are so much more fun when the kids are fired up !!

That was my point. I'm sure which way the game played out could be considered an upset according to which team you happened to be supporting. I went to both games as well as a basketball fan and would question the calls on Yates big man. Whether it was bad officiating or just ticky tack calls the officials made a very good D1 player a non factor. It changed the way Yates had to play the game. It was still a great game to watch.

Yates may not consider last year an upset. They probably would lean towards the year before last as an upset when the Tigers beat them. Yates had a big man that year that was taken out of the game by some questionable officiating. The score got a little misleading at the end in what was one of the best high school games I’ve ever seen.

Kountze doesn’t have a regional squad this year. They are bunches better than last year by but let’s keep it real. I think they will finish 2nd in the district.

I know when you lose the caliber players Silsbee and HJ lost last year you would think the programs would be way down. I don’t think Bush gets nearly enough credit for the last 3 years success nor does Martin. They may not be as good as they were last year but they aren’t “way down “ in my opinion. HJ has a different make up from last year but I don’t see them as “way down “ either. The biggest difference in HJ this year is depth. HJ is pretty young this year , they seem to be growing up as the season progresses.

If it’s open “ The Farmhouse “ at the foot of the causeway on Hwy 190 in Onalaska has good food. It’s the same family I believe that operates the Farmhouse in Huntsville. It’s about 15 miles from Trinity but you may want to put it on your list.

That’s my point. When I look at Warrens schedule this year they have been wildly inconsistent. That’s not a knock on Anahuac, they seem to be consistent. I think Anahuac beat Warren by 7 earlier in the year at Anahuac. I would expect Warren to win that rematch at home. That being said a team won’t win many scoring 38 points at home. If Anahuac keeps playing the way they’re are playing they could very well get the last playoff spot in this district.

I gotta agree with aTmfan06. I-saw a lot of those Kountze clubs during those days and to say they couldn’t put a team together over the last 30 years that could have beaten the Tigers the last 4 years is a stretch. That would be fun drawing up hypothetical matchups and even getting to pick who was drawing up X’s and O’s. In addition to Hall and Hancock the club that had Busby, Powell and Haynes was pretty darn good.

I’m not looking at a stat sheet but I know the Bears were shooting in the double bonus around the 4:00 minute mark in the first half. The foul count was 14-4 I believe at the half.That will keep games close.
