This one was a little more one sided than I thought it would be. I was hoping Warren was a little better this year than in recent years.

Yes sir, I don’t think the Raiders went over 6 or 7 deep last night and the subs didn’t get a lot of minutes.

I think the Baxter kid hit a 3 in the first half that he was fouled on and then hit the FT to complete the 4 point play. Lack of depth really hurts the Raiders.

He does some good things on the offensive end of the floor. He was off tonight but IMO he wasn’t nearly the best player on the floor tonight.

Silsbee 80 WOS 68

The Raiders have played some good ball clubs this year. Coach Mitchell does a good job with them. I haven’t seen them this year but I know they’ll shoot it pretty well. Not sure who they have playing in the backcourt or how quick they are. Of course everyone looks a half step slow against the young man over in Silsbee.

You may know talent, I don’t know any of these kids but I know a lot of variables have to come together perfectly to win a 4A state championship in the state of Texas. Correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t the group that had McCain, Adams, Bush and the rest play in multiple schools in junior high?

I’ve been watching this kid for years and no doubt he’s a good ball player. He’s got some height and has a pretty touch on his shot. Never saw him really mix it up on the boards or the defensive end. That’s the thing about ranking players, everyone looks for different skill sets. There’s some pretty good basketball players scattered around this district.

Still awful early to be talking state titles. The group that Silsbee won 2 state titles with had 3 D1 players in it . That doesn’t happen often in a 4A school. It also seems to have awakened the recruiting monster at some of the other big name schools. I gotta confess I haven’t seen the 8 th grade group this year but the stars have to align perfectly to win multiple state titles.
