  1. Not the easiest surroundings to shoot in. Not sure you can simulate that anywhere else
  2. A stifling press will beat teams every time if they don't have the backcourt personel to beat it. It doesn't have to result in points or turnovers to be successful . The teams mentioned do it a lot to wear folks down. The teams with fundamentally sound guards usually adjust well. When you look at EC, Kountze, Silsbee and HJ it's hard to argue with the the results those four have had. Congrats to EC on a great season.
  3. Does FF have a big man ? Yates doesn't have a lot of weaknesses but there are some opening that the trap presents.
  4. Just a couple of observations here. A lot of people think the lack of depth cost the Tigers a return trip to San Antonio this year. I know Bush is a great player but a return trip to San Antonio with a group of players who didn't play much this season may be a stretch . It's tough to get out of region 3.
  5. There's a huge difference in playing the type schedule Silsbee played this year with D1 players on your roster. I wouldn't think the Tigers schedule would look anything like it did this year.
  6. Sure we're a lot of Seniors on the floor on Senior night to be looking at San Antonio or the regional finals next year.
  7. What hurt Yates last year was foul trouble . They depended on a great big man all season and lost him early to foul trouble. It affected everything they did when he sat down.
  8. Once you start being successful as a program the number of kids transferring into a district always increases. When you're successful in a district where the average home is $300k you're gonna have new faces "&
  9. The girls have won 5 consecutive state titles, 4 of them after moving up from 3A to 4A
  10. Yates lost 3 starters to fouls within 30 seconds . They had the deeper team and for the first time in several years the Tigers didn't look like the best team in the region. I said in an earlier post and still believe the late, close game on Friday night caused the Tigers to lose their legs in the final. Great run for them !
  11. Both clubs are young, we may have a good rivalry starting here. 5 state titles in a row is beyond impressive . Great season for the Ladies from HJ and Coaches Fogo, Sneed and Rogers. Congrats on a heckuva year.
  12. Yates has a helluva club, I saw that personally this year. Silsbee did too
  13. Yates makes their FT's and can really get hot from behind the arc. Tigers played a late game last night and lost their legs today. It happens but great run by the Tigers, the pipeline isn't near as full going forward but they still got the General.
  14. They gotta Sophomore that can fill it up from behind the arc, not sure what his number is.
  15. Gotta beat the best at this stage of the season. Go Lady Hawks.
  16. Huffman won't beat themselves. The difference in this game will be the Tigers ability to play above the rim. You just can't game plan for that. I look for the Tigers to advance to regional tournament but I don't see the blow outs like they have been registering.
  17. Huffman doesn't have a big inside presence. Silsbee can play above the rim but they don't like to slow it down .
  18. Huffman will be very fundamentally sound and very well coached. They can shoot lights out. Size will be their downfall .
