The officials did not have any bearing on the outcome of this game but at times tonight they looked like they were in over their head . Silsbee is the real deal .

No doubt about Warren, their inconsistency has been an issue all year. Not sure if Kirbyville improved over the season, I haven't seen them but I would have picked Warren unless they had some players missing.

I've always felt like Cleveland underachieved. Lots of talent over there.

I thought Hardin lost to Kirbyville by 2 , I stand corrected. AAW picked Warren by 3 on Tuesday.

The 32 to 6 reference was free throws attempted in the first game not total fouls. I havent seen Kirbyville play this year so I have no idea if Warren will win or lose that game. I do think that had Hardin prepared a little better schedule they would have beaten Kirbyville last week instead of losing by two and Warren on Tuesday instead of losing by six. Warren and Hardin are pretty evenly matched when all their players are on the floor. At best they are a fourth place team in this district. In my opinion, take it for what it's worth, there is no way this Hardin club should lose to Warren when They have a 4 point lead and Warrens 3 best players have either fouled out or are not playing with less than a minute remaining. I do know Hardins roster shows 5 seniors on their roster so I wouldn't think their confidence would be that shaky. I do have to give the Hardin kids credit, they were a very well behaved group , there was a good crowd and it was a exciting ballgame.

I know confidence is a huge part of the game but scheduling 20 games against sub par competition isn't confidence building, it builds bad habits. A slow cross court pass against a vastly inferior opponent results in a score for you. Against an equal opponent it results in a turnover, my point is your kids don't learn this if they don't play equal opponents. I don't know the Harin kids at all but I believe their PG is also their QB. Odds are his Sports IQ is through the roof. On Tuesday Hardin had a 4 point lead and Warrens best three players were on the bench with less than a minute left. You'll never convince me that a little tougher schedule wouldn't prepare your team for this situation. The foul count on Tuesday was a little one sided but it was more because of defensive styles than it was officiating. It wasn't 32 to 6 one sided though.

That was my point earlier in the season. You make a questionable cross court pass against Fred Goiod Samaritan and you get away with it but it will cost you in a close ballgame. I will have to give these two teams credit. It was an interesting game with a pretty good crowd. Not sure who the fourth place team in this district gets but it won't be pretty.

Just curious, we talked at length earlier in the season about Strength of schedule or lack of it making you a better team. Last night Hardin had a 4 point with 59 seconds left and called a timeout after a made shot to set up their defense. Warren was short 3 starters at this point. It's been my belief that close games against teams of equal talent prepare you for these kinds of situations. I think Hardins schedule hurt them last night.What do you think GoFundMe ?

Every one is entitled to their opinion. I don't know any of these kids personally but the only other time I saw this team the kid who sat out last night was the best player on the floor. He had a good touch on the 3 ball, a big body who could rebound and play defense. #2 is good ball player but was saddled with fouls last night and played about half the game. #1 did shoot the ball well early last night and then hit some big free throws last night late. The game was close, not sure I would call it great. The remaining 4 games should be interesting. Warren has to go to Kirbyville who I hear has played a little better as of late. Hardin has to play Anahuac who I hear is a little better than they were early. Just my personal opinion but I think last nights game was a perfect example of the importance of scheduling.

Warren 54 Hardin 48 My second time to see Warren this season and my first to see Hardin. Warren was without what I thought was their best player tonight and lost their PG midway through the 4th to fouls. Managed to pull one out.

I haven't seen Anahuac but Kountze just doesn't have to much of an upside. Duane does as good a job as anyone in the area but even with these kids playing their very best they aren't going to win many.

32 to 6 ? Ouch . That's a little one sided no matter where ya play.

I think Lumberton has actually exceeded expectations. At the beginning of the season I had them picked to battle BC and LCM for 4th. I was surprised that they beat WOS . They could easily finish 3rd , if they do it's going to be hard to find fault with the coach.

Huffman is very fundamentally sound and have some kids that can fill it up. They are a little on the small side or they could be really good.

May not be fair to compare a victory over this Kountze team to a loss to some of the Kountze teams of the past. With some of the scores reported from the junior high the Lions may struggle for awhile.

Then they need to get out of officiating. If it's a foul you call it, if the kids shooting it's a shooting foul, if he's behind the arc he shoots 3. The officials did a good job overall. It's a shame a missed call is what they will be remembered for in this game.

I don't ever blame the officials but they swallowed their whistle on the last three and also reversed a call after a conference at the halftime buzzer. The Hawks were in a double bonus on that one and it was waived off after the call was made , both should have been shot . We can't change the rules according to game circumstances, if it's a foul in the first it's a foul in the fourth. Water under the bridge now, lets go Hawks.
