  1. Everyone schedules games they know they can win. There is nothing wrong with that, on the other hand scheduling a private school with an enrollment of 25 probably doesn't do anyone much good. It's been years since I saw Hardin play basketball but the last time I did they were very respectable.
  2. I go to the Big Sandy tournament and the EC tournament every year as well. Went to every Lamar game for years. Throw in the regional high school and state high school tournaments and you got me. I'm a basketball junkie. I even have an all tournament team scribbled out on the front of my tournament program but they never ask for my opinion
  3. High school basketball is all about matchups. Vidor doesn't have a bad club but they don't matchup well with Shelbyville. That's not a knock on Vidor.

  5. I got to watch over 20 hours of high school hoops in 3 days. I make it a must see every year!
  6. Yes #5 was the little guard who made the engine go. #15 and #24 were legit as well
  7. You can't play Fred Good Samaritan but so many times and get ready for EC.
  8. No disrespect intended toward Vidor but I watched Shelbyville three times in this tournament and I've seen Vidor before and during the tournament and Shelbyville would match up very well against the pirates. Vidor doesn't have a dominant big Post presence so IMO Shelbyville would be better at every position.#24 was solid on the block for Shelbyville, #15 was a little different looking player but at the end of the game I'd look and he filled it up from behind the arc and could create and score on his own. I can't remember the number of the guard that was most impressive it was either #3 or #5 I believe both could play. They could easily win this region.
  9. The kid has nice game all the way around. He hit a three at the halftime buzzer to push the lead to 7. HJ came out cold in the 3rd only scoring 5 and Hefner found his stroke.
  10. HJ 54 Huffman 46 final HJ vs Nederland Saturday 12:30
  11. Shelbyville 70 Aransas Pass 59 Final
  12. Common sense and predicting the weather in Texas should not be in the same forum!!
  13. Until recently I've never heard of delaying a football game because of rain. I understand the lightning delays but you tee it up and play it in the rain.
  14. Gold Bracket Ned def PNG 61-46 Spring Hill vs Cleveland 4pm Shelbyville vs Aransas Pass 5:30 HJ vs Huffman 7 pm
  15. Silver Bracket Kelly vs Vidor 7pm Shepherd vs Porter 2:30 LCM vs Tatum 4 pm Lumberton va Chapel Hill 5:30
  16. Gimme a minute I'll post em.
  17. HJ defeated Aransas Pass by 32.
  18. I think Vidor could have swept Pool B but we were missing several key players in both Thursday games. Played much better today with all of our starters but it is what it is. We’re Silver bracket B4 vs A3, does anyone have an idea who A3 might be? Like this I think A3 will probably be Chapel Hill , they are playing Kelly now.. I didn't see the Vidor vs Huffman game this morning but I've seen all these teams several times and I'd pick Shelbyville and Huffman the majority of the time.
  19. Bracket play will be some good basketball before anyone starts looking ahead to Saturday. Shelbyville and Huffman both have really solid clubs as well as HJ on the top half of the bracket. Spring Hill should advance on the bottom half.
  20. HJ 89 Chapel Hill 52 Final
  21. Spring Hill 60 Nederland 41 Final
  22. It was a good ballgame. Huffman spread the floor up by 10 and lost a little momentum. Two good clubs.
  23. Shelbyville 84 Huffman 82 final OT
  24. Maybe on turf, mud is the great equalizer to speed. If it ain't lightning then you play.
  25. Teams with good running games pray for wet fields while teams with passing attacks love the dry surface. Why would anyone with a ground game agree to reschedule?
