Kountze's problems are more on the offensive end of the floor in the half court in the games I have seen them play this year, and that's been several. Whoever has the ball seems to not want to share it much. If they start moving the ball like they are capable they have the pieces.

Saladin's Hard Work Paying Big Dividends

Mike is the type player you can use as a role model, regardless of how hard the foul he just gets up wipes off the blood and puts the ball in the hole. No gestures, no fanfare just hoops. Kudos to Thomas as well. You can tell hard work has made him a very good player as well. -
Where were the players ??

I watched the 65 and 69 clubs at the old gym in Warren, standing room only and some great basketball. Not everyone got a trophy in those days and both clubs were really good. The Wolf brothers , who went on to play professional football , were big guns for Warren in those days along with Archie McNeely, Mark McManus and I think one of the Chance's from Fred. Hats off to the Deweyville club, our club in those days were good, there's was great !!

I'm not sure I would use Kountze as an example as to how and play HJ. The final was 93-77 and the game wasn't as close as the final. -

I saw WOS call timeout last week with 0.7 left in the half, inbound the ball and hit a 3 pointer. It's all about the clock operator The officials have to know to be watching the coaches in that situation. -

Kountze is going to have to learn to play together . They play really good pressure defense but don't rebound very well and really struggle with anything that resembles a half court set on offense. -
Hardin-Jefferson 103, West Orange-Stark 59/Final

The one glaring change I have noticed this year in the officiating is the number of touch fouls or hand checking fouls. They draw a quick whistle every time but they let the kids grab, push and wrestle before the ball is inbounded. Very little consistency this year in those calls. -

Gee we almost had an HJ / WOS thread going here. WOS has a team full of athletes and Coach Hancock will have them looking like a different club as district play goes on.I'm not sure how many of these guys played football. -

Silsbee 96 Orangefield 36/Final

They moved them back to home and home last year and had good crowds but I don't think they had to turn anyone away. I love that atmosphere. -

I don't remember seeing that one either. LCM would lock the ball up at the scorers table before they give up 100 .LOL -
I was listening at the broadcast of the Silsbee vs Orangefield last night. The Tigers shot a 3 at the buzzer and hit it while leading 93-36. You gotta play until the buzzer. Like I said some clubs will just hold the ball at the end of regulation and some don't.Now the foul issue and the fans may be a different story all together. That's the second instance this year of a player fouling out with 4 fouls. Usually that's an official reporting the incorrect number and not changing it with the official book keeper.

Hardin-Jefferson vs West Orange-Stark?
whsalum replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Hasn't been played yet. Rescheduled for Monday at 1:00pm I believe. -
That's exactly what I was saying. Eleven points isn't rubbing in and the subs that work all week should be able to play the game like everyone else.

Kountze vs Kountze 04-07 state champs
whsalum replied to TopDawG52's topic in High School Boys Basketball
Closer than I thought it would be. Wish I would have known this one was being played I would have checked it out. -
A lot of teams hold the ball when the game is decided and a lot of them don't. Especially if you have subs on the floor who don't score often or play much. There are teams in the area that will be up by 50+ and still be shooting 3's at the buzzer. You gotta play until it's over, especially in a single digit game.
