I saw a lot of potential on the Memorial club earlier this year and had no idea they were Sophomores. These kids will be fine over the next few years.

They still platoon at the 4 minute mark. Usually defenses are dictated by game situations

The teams the Lions have lost to isn't as big of concern as the way they have lost. So far they simply haven't found any rhythm on offense and they are getting beat down the floor defensively which I have never seen before. I'll say this about the LCM loss, if you get behind to LCM they will beat you. They spread the floor, slow the game down and don't make mistakes. They took Silsbee and HJ to the buzzer last year. The Lions have all the pieces in their first 5 . They just gotta figure out how to get everyone involved.

In your opinion what's the state of the game in our region compared to years past ? I know Big Sandy is as good as anyone in the state at the 2a level . Just curious how our region is going to stack up this year in San Antonio.

Pretty well sums it up Blue Dove.Not a ton of coaching going on in the AAU circles.

Overall any time kids can stay in the gym against good competition makes them better. AAU does this and can really be good for the players in that respect. The down side of it comes from the constant conflict over recruiting talent and the coaches that all think they are Coach "K". More times than not it turns in to the "look at me league ".

Now who would make that bracket ? 1 and 4:30 is brutal. I didn't see this game but the Ozen vs Memorial game last week definitely had some questionable calls in favor of the Beaumont club at crunch time.

I'm not sure how AP faired in their tournament this past weekend but I think they may be down a little this year. They will be well coached but I'm not sure about a #5 ranking.

I knew something was amiss I know Kountze will get better and I have no idea what he north part of our region has but right now they have some holes you usually don't see in Kountze.

With Kountze's current line up I'm not sure they have many other defensive options than the press.They could probably play some half court man but they aren't real big. Big Sandy doesn't have many weaknesses, they find the mismatch more often than not with the motion they run.Should be a good tournament next weekend at HJ.

Yes they are both very good, I can see them playing 3 times easily. I would schedule something else pre district but that's just me

Dawg, Big Sandy moves the basketball very well and causes some matchup nighmares on the perimeter. The are pretty darn good.I believe they are better than they were last year.What you think?

Not sure why these two clubs continue to play each other in pre district games. It puts whichever club that is the best at a disadvantage. It's tough enough to beat a team twice in a season, almost impossible to do it 3 or 4 times if the talent is close. Both of these clubs have a lot of potential but they have got a lot of work to do to be ready for the 5a regional tournament.

Why isn't King playing for HF, saw him several times last year and he is solid.

They said Legacy didn't score but 20 against Kountze though after playing pretty well against Big Sandy and Hudson, thought they may have been missing somebody

These Legacy scores have been all over the place, did they have someone missing against Kountze?

Hope the young man isn't injured seriously, nothing worse than having to watch a young man who loves the game and can't play.

I gotta admit I'm surprised by the Cougars so far this season. I watched them play a bunch last year and they had a really solid team. I knew Brian would do a good job with them but I thought the losses to graduation would be to much to overcome this season, Looks like the top 3 spots are going to be closer than I thought.

Big Sandy has one opposite of Angel that is no slouch himself. The kid from Kountze can shoot the leather off of it as well !!

They are very young. Probably will finish 3rd or 4th in their district this year but will have some growing pains !!
