Kountze Basketball: What happened?

Are they in high school ??? -
Thank ya sir. Those would be some good ones to watch.
-
I would like to get a break down of Big Sandy, Spurger and any other schools that don't play football as well as those who's football teams were already eliminated. It has been to quiet.
-
The scrimmage board has really been quiet. Did we not have a full schedule of scrimmages ? Come on folks it's time for some hoops !!
-
That's a good problem to have for a coach , sometimes it's tough to keep 15 players happy with playing time if they are all pretty equal.

Kountze Basketball: What happened?

It's not only Kountze, girls basketball locally was very good for years with teams from Kountze, Silsbee, Hardin Jefferson and Orangefield always making deep runs. I think the other sports are getting most of the talent now, softball and volleyball primarily. -
The teams that get the breaks and get on a roll at the right time end up in San Antonio, that and being in the right region. It's often not the best team. Not sure it's a good idea to play a district rival 4 or 5 times either.
-
You get a whole lot smarter when you have a 7'3" Center LOL
-
Great to hear the kid can play, it's not like he just drove in from Nigeria . The district should have had a draft however just to keep it close
-
With Silsbee's predicted dominance they have let the air out of the balls at HJ and resurrected the cross country program until at least 2020 !! As far as top SETX performers go it would be hard to start a 5 man team without Arnold and Angel.
-
So was I but that was a long time ago LOL !!
-
Never saw Dallas Bryan Adams, anyone know anything about them? We will get to see a couple of 4A clubs that are ranked ahead of the Hawks in the early polls Should be another really good 3 days of hoops !!

HOOP PRACTICE STARTS TODAY!!!!
whsalum replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Boys Basketball
I think the actual start time was 12:01 am this morning -
No way they could be the favorite playing against a club that won't lose a district game for the next five years. I think the pre season TABC poll has them picked 3rd in the district.
-
Cleveland has really had some talented clubs over the last 4 or 5 years that just didn't produce in the playoffs. Not sure what their issus have been.
-
A three team scrimmage I believe !!
-
The Hawks look to have a good schedule this year. The non district schedule has Central , Nederland , Big Sandy , Kountze and the James Gamble classic plus their tourney always has a great field. Can't wait to watch some hoops.
-
I agree with that whole heartedly, I haven't seen Kountze play football this year. I thought he was still the main cog in their football team.

Ozen Shootout Oct.17,2015 (Ozen High School)

I believe Parquet was hampered with a bad back yesterday, I wasn't there but I think he missed the last ball game. I know he is a gamer and if he takes a back seat it is probably going to be to get someone else involved. I watched him a lot last year and the brighter the lights the better he played. Gonna be a fun year , I'm ready for some hoops -
I wasn't talking about playing hurt. I had heard he may graduate early and enroll at Baylor. If that's the case I certainly understand getting on campus and started in the program in Waco. Just from watching the young man play I don't think for a second he is worried about getting injured playing basketball.
-
I can certainly understand that.
-
That would be a huge blow to the Lions however if it is related to his scholarship to Baylor you can't blame him. Those scholarships were worth a fortune before the football team became relevant now they are even more valuable.
-
I made mention of Parquet after last seasons playoff game that he played and did a super job with cracked ribs. Kid is tough as a boot and is a sophomore. He is going to be one to watch not only this season but several more to boot.
