1. Great post Hippie, I was raised in small boats on the Neches and Angelina rivers and still fish a lot. You don't fool with mother nature no matter how long you've been on the water.
2. I hope the young lady does well.Sometimes going home and coaching is the toughest place to go.I'll agree age is a matter of mind but experience can't be overlooked.I've enjoyed watching the Orangefield girls in the past and will look forward to seeing them progress this next season.
3. I learned a long time ago when you put up tournament dates and times you have to stick with them. You will always have some folks who can't make it but you usually have good turn outs.Better luck next time.
4. Tough place to start, expectations will be high and the talent pool may not be quite as high as it has been in recent years.Hope the young lady does well.
5. If you have a small aluminum boat there used to be one in south county called Spindletop bayou that had some really good bass/crappie and blue gill fishing. You had to have a smaller aluminum boat to pull over a set of rollers.I haven't heard anything about it in several years but it was really good years ago.
6. 10/4 I wasn't bad mouthing your choice,I just didn't know if some of the posters had ever put in at Colliers Ferry. They really did a nice job when they rebuilt that park.I haven't fished down there yet this year but unless it's changed ya'll should look forward to catching a ton of bass.Usually you will catch 20 short fish to every keeper but it make for a super laid back day on the water.
7. I have fished out of the Pine Island ramp with a 19 ft bass boat and 150hp johnson for years. It's about a 15-20 minute run down to Big Cooks Lake or the Neches River. If you are gonna fish a weekend day tournament you can launch out of Colliers Ferry at the end of Pine Street and have a top notch ramp and a great weigh in place.I think you can lock thru the salt water barrier even on the weekends.Pine Island is a pretty open run with the exception of a few dead heads around where the LNVA canal crosses it.
8. When you have 38 all district selections in a 7 team district nothing should surprise ya.
9. The only possible way to improve on 30-0 is to play in a bigger district LOL.If i had a daughter she could play for Coach Davis any day.Congrats Janet on a great coaching job.
10.
Yes you do have more rings playing Deweyville, Warren, and Hardin. Are those 2A rings made out candy or plastic?
Take a look at the year we won 3A:-)  when our only losses were to Memorial and Houston Milby... and Nash is right we don't play those teams in Austin ... also didn't we beat the last state tournament team y'all had? Actually we beat y'all twice that year:-)
Not many teams in the state that can look down upon the accomplishments of Kountze in basketball.
Amen I don't know who would be on the list but it wouldn't take long to call roll.
11. Hate to see any pitcher lose a game like this, would have loved to seen this one.
12. Congrats to Shawn on the signing. As far as all the other questions about the JUCO route the situation is different with every player. The skill set to play D1 ball isn't always polished by position in high school ball. The competition for these D1 spots is unreal. Shawn has all the tools and with the work ethic he has I could see him developing his 15-18 foot shot and becoming a 3 at a D1 school.
13. Do you get to flip a coin these days and decide where you want to play ?? Kountze will be solid next year. Once again they will get their scoring from their defense. They will have to get better play on both ends of the floor from their big guys if they hope to get out of the region. They are going to be QUICK.
14. I can feel for ya SteelerCrzy.I travel and watch the games now for fun but when the kids were playing you have to go regardless of the price of gas.
15. A well deserved honor for a young man who improved his game every year year of his career !!!!!!!
16. I have learned 1 thing in this district this year. There isn't an once of difference in the top 5 teams so predicting scores is a crap shoot.I'll take Buna at home in this one by a couple.
17. Baseball is such a game of repetition it's hard to blame the kids or the coaches. The kids have to get in a flow and they simply can't do that when they are playing 3 games in 3 days and having to move games to other clubs parks.Howell is an ace no doubt but they have some other kids that aren't that far away.
18. Cngrats guys !!! Wish I would have been in town to watch this one !!!
19. I was very skeptical about him coming out of high school. Never doubted his baskeball skills but his attitude on the court. He has grown up in Austin which is a credit to both he and Coach Barnes.I'm sure he has a ton of folks advising him but I hope he stays at UT one more season. If he improves as much this off season as he did last off season his draft status would definitely improve.UT produces some great NBA players but they have also had some recently who came out to early. Just curious what his degree field is? A diploma from the 40 acres could open some doors off the hardwood.
